If anyone's like me and had too much hair/thread built up to pop the wheel out of its casing, try threading a thin piece of fabric around and pulling on that! Worked like a charm

Embarrassed to say this, but I have 9 indoor cats. LOL! I have to vacuum every day. I have gone through many vacuums. My take: if you have hard floors, this unit does a very good job getting the hair and cat litter dust up without blowing it around - actually, as good as a traditional vacuum for the most part. So far, it has been reliable too with just the maintenance I show. On rugs, though it "works", it does not do anything other than take the hair off the surface. It just is not even close to being able to deep clean rugs like a full size plug-in traditional vacuum with a powered rotating brush. I have a Dyson Animal Canister for rug areas, and don't even bother trying to use a robovac on the rugs.

I agree with your statement about this being basic & required, though in helping people with robo-vacs of different kinds over the years, I find most problems people have are the different mechanisms are clogged with hair due to zero maintenance of any kind other than emptying the dirt container. I think manufacturers of these vacs are nervous about making this clear up front as they are afraid of it putting people off about buying the vac.
Absolutely. It definitely is more involved than most people would think, and more involved than even I imagined before I purchased my first. Even so, still a wonderful innovation that makes my life infinitely easier. I did notice that Eufy/Anker added the small upward-facing bristles to the front rotating brushes on the 11+, which helps quite a bit with hair/thread buildup that was an issue with the 11. Ultimately, there will always be a bit of hands-on maintenance and people like yourself are saints for creating videos to assist.

Great tutorial no one tells you to clean the front wheel and it picks up a ton of debris. Also the long roller, if you have a lot of hair that is stuck then you can use scissors to cut the hair and it pulls off super easy. You need a decent pair of scissors to get hair out of the edges but be careful not to trim the bristles.

Thanks for the tip, this saved me from getting a new one. I have the Anker RoboVac 10, for weeks Ive been trying to fix this thing it would some time run for a few mins then beep and I seemed to have hair stuck around that roller ball underneath, thats what was stopping mine form working. Cleaned that and all is good again :)

Excellent video. I’m happy to report that I do all of this, so proud of myself! I have an additional step that may be necessary. I have a long hair, double coat dog. The hair loss is incredible. I found that the hair gets into the ‘end caps’ of the brush. And this presses on the brush and eventually causes the brush to stop turning freely.
The caps detach from the brush easily. They aren’t screwed in or anything. One cap opens by lifting off the washer. The other I have to pry apart. I don’t understand why they are different. It has to be done. When I open them they are full of hair. Anyway, I slide off the hair, close the caps and am back in business for the week.
Unless you have a long hair, shedding dog you may never have to do this. But if you start getting an error message about the brush this may be the problem. You would feel it when you try to place the cleaned brush back into it’s slot. It will not go back, or you will feel the tightness of the spin.
I clean the vac weekly and brush the dog more often :)
One last thing. I love this vac. Affordable and works excellent. I purchased an upgrade version, 15c max, and it’s even better. And, it’s lower and goes under more things. However, as good as these are they don’t come with barrier strips, the newest thing. The 11+ kept getting stuck under the tv cabinet. These strips would have been great to have. Instead she’s, yes Effie, has been banned from that room. Her sister, Eva, 15c max, does fits under there perfectly ;)

No, I've never tried the app or with Alexa. The way I use this vac is: I turn it on via the included remote control in the area of my place that is hardwood floors, then I get out my Dyson DC23 Animal and do the carpet areas & chairs. I think of the Eufy as like a second person helping me. By the time I'm done my part of the work, the Eufy has cleaned all the hardwood floors quite well, so it really is helpful. I've tried it on carpets, but it doesn't have the suction or the brush power to suck out the dirt that works its way deep into the carpet. It does clean the surface OK however. The Dyson DC23 Animal is so powerful that it does deep clean. I find that approach to how I use the Eufy has worked really well in my case.

We have two EUFY 11S that scoot around every night at 01:30 am. They start within seconds of each other and cover the house extremely well when we sleep. We often start them manually as we leave the house because we do find them a tad noisy. It can be fun to watch them "ping-pong" around the various rooms until they go "orange-light" and quietly start sniffing for the EUFY charging station. They will find it 9 times out of ten ( 10/10 in a small apartment we think...) and soon ready for work the next morning.
We clean the "nappy" i.e. the dust collecting box every two three days and honestly, it is a bit scary to see how incredibly effective the pair really are in doing the cleaning job around the house. So no doubts that they clean very well! If you like to be bare-footing or walk around in socks, you do appreciate the smooth feeling of clean floors.
The tips I can share is that it is a very good idea to fix the charging-station with Velcro-tape to the shirting board behind it. Often the Robovac tend to push it around so it may end up out of reach.
The other tip is that we don't see much point in using the two removable filters, a Hepa filter and a sponge-mat. We have tossed them and use then with just the one permanent non-removable filter. It is so much simpler to clean and maintain and the power is definitely boosted when running without the two extra sucker-filters. We have found this pair of Robovac a very good purchase and without silly distractions like Bluetooth and "magic mapping", no thanks because my time is valuable! Besides, the remote control is fine and dandy for any additional commands. Ooh, we got two EUFY's 11S because after a year or so we could not stand the thought of being without one, would it fail on us. But they just keep soldering on together... night after night.
Conclusion: They fill their 0.6 litre dust-pans quick and well, nuff said. Except, what else can you ask for?
Thanks for a great comment. I really like the idea of the Velcro taping the back of the charging station to the skirting board - I'm going to try that. My worst problem with the charging station is the wire that goes to the wall plug keeps getting chewed on by the cats. I ended up putting car wire loom over the wire and taping it at the ends, which did stop the cats from being able to chew the wire. There is something about that particular wire that attracts the cats.

If that fail I try TIGER BALM. No, I think I start with T.B. because it will be much more easy... And you don't want your cat turning Mexican.

I have the 11S. I used to unscrew the 3 screws around the wheels to clean inside. Do you ever do that? Also my rubber piece from the dust guard came off. Is it worth ordering and replacing it? Does it actually make a difference?
I have never done that, but I looked at pictures of the bottom of the 11S and my 11+ and I see they are different. If you mean the rubber strip along the cover for the brush, I can only assume it is there for a good reason.

Thanks for the vid.. do you know what would cause it to only vacuum for 30 min and return home? It's full charged and used to go about an hour, but recently only doing 30 min. I checked and it's not on boost. Help :) thanks
It could be a couple of things. It could just be the battery is worn. However, I have seen this happen when hair or lint is clogging up the brush gears or brush end bearings and wasting so much battery energy that the running time is greatly reduced. I've not had that happen with my Eufy, but this did happen a lot with my Roomba. Once I found where the hair was and cleaned it, the Roomba went back to going the longer time (in the Roomba it was the nylon gear box at one side of the brush). If you look at my video around 3:43, you can see where the hair and lint tends to bind up on my Eufy. It is possible there is hair or lint binding it up somewhere else, but not sure how to guide you to finding it.
I just thought of something else. It could be a buildup of hair under the sweeper brushes - that would do that same thing of sapping up battery energy. Go to about 5:10 in the video to see how to check that. Hope it helps.
My 11s has a room-clean mode that is only 30 minutes. Maybe that’s it?

Any idea where I can find a replacement roller brush? All the listings on amazon say 11S or C and that they are not compatible with the 11+. Supposedly the Deebot N79 is a clone but I haven't had confirmation that they use the same roller brush.

@@kitchenhouseyard8864 Sorry for delay. They were out of stock and told me recently that they're back for $11, but I didn't order yet because my vac is now beeping 10 times and won't work. My roller brush ran into a mouse glue trap by accident (I thought I had blocked it oops) so maybe that has something to do with it... I will give it another clean maybe that's the cause.

So, lets say the dust bin is full after 2 vacuums, I'd do the maintenance in the video after 6 uses. If the dust bin is filled every time you use the vacuum, I'd suggest doing the basic maintenance every third time. Once you get used to doing the routine in the video, it only takes 2 minutes or less and is very easy. If you don't have pets or anyone with long hair in the house, you could probably go longer between doing the basic maintenance. Pet & human air wrapping around the various moving parts is the real issue with these vacuums that causes the need for the maintenance I show in the video.

How do you know the battery is failing?
Generally, you get less time of vacuuming between charges. However, if there is hair or threads, etc. bound in the brush end bearings or in the wheels or under the side sweepers, this can put extra strain on the battery making it not go as long between charges as well. First, clean it like I show in the video, and if it still only runs a short while between charges, it might be time to replace the battery.
Is it not easier to just use your regular vacuum cleaner and clean the house rather then taking the robot apart, getting the vacuum cleaner out, vacuum the robot, put the robot together again and return your vacuum cleaner to it's storage?
You make a good point, but it depends on the situation. I have a split-level house. The main floor is all hardwood. I use the Eufy on that floor every day, and don't do the servicing that I show in the video. When I do a serious weekly cleaning, I set the Eufy loose on the main floor to do the hardwood as ususal, while I dust and vacuum other areas with my Dyson canister vacuum. By the time I'm done my part of the work, the Eufy has done a good job with the hardwood floor on the main level. I then turn off the Eufy, do the maintenance on it with my Dyson (that is already out), put the Eufy away, dump the contents of the Dyson in the garbage, put it away, and everything is done. This way the Eufy keeps my main floor clean every day without any effort on my part, and I don't have to bring out my Dyson just to clean it. For me, the Eufy is very helpful at keeping the main floor clean all the time.
It is not easier to use a regular vacuum! This little device vacuums under every bed as well as it vacuums the middle of the room. The little side brushes sweep the baseboards so we don't need to hook up the wand on the upright. We live on a farm, and even though we remove our boots/shoes in a mud room when we enter the house, the hallway ends up dirty. We run this vacuum every day. It vacuums throw rugs (the upright vacuum gets tangled in them) so we don't have to take them outside to brush them with a foxtail. Sure, it doesn't have the suction the upright has but it spends an hour in a room that we vacuum in 5-10 minutes. In the end result it removes move dirt than our upright with much less effort.
@@connieh6863 I have three Robo vacs. One Irobot 960, one Eufy and one Deebot 79. They are great. But I don't have to clean the robot's weekly or even monthly. Just have to empty the dirt bins once in a while.

but on a serious note, i'm watching these videos while i am considering buying a robot vacuum, but now and then i hear people still use a regular vacuum. You said you use it to clean this robot vacuum, in some other review someone said they still clean with a regular vacuum once a month apart from using the robotic one. If i'm buying the robot vacuum i want it to replace my regular one for good. If i'm supposed to keep two in order to have my flat clean that doesn't make much sense to me.
Here is my take: If you only have hard floors (no carpets) and you don't normally vacuum the furniture, you could get away with just a RoboVac. However, if you have carpets and normally vacuum furniture, you need a conventional vacuum. The RoboVac does a good job on hard surfaces, but the suction is way too weak to properly clean carpets - it just takes hair & dust off the surface. I vacuum the RoboVac after I've used the Dyson canister vac to do the furniture & rugs, so it's already out. While I'm doing the furniture & rugs, the Robo is doing the hard floors. I give the Robo a cleaning with the Dyson, dump the dust from the Dyson & put everything away.
@@kitchenhouseyard8864 thanks for answering. I have no rugs, just hard floor, no animals and I hardly ever vacuum the sofa. Rest of the furniture i dust off with cloth. So I guess I should be alright with robovacuum only. Might give it a try.

@@kitchenhouseyard8864 Your robot vacuum is only able to vacuum your floor. There are plenty of other places that are ABOVE the floor. You will not be able to keep all of that clean w/o regular vacuum. Which is why you'll still need both. Not to mention that it is much easier to clean the robot with regular vacuum than to go outside each time.
I’m unable to remove the side pieces of my roller brush. There’s so much hair 😫 lmao
If you have the same model I do (11 +), you might just have to pull really hard. It is amazing how much hair bunches around the ends/side pieces. It works its way in between the shaft and the side pieces making it very hard to pull them off, but it can be done with effort.

LOL - I know, it sounds odd. I use the Eufy daily, but once a week I use my Dyson Canister vacuum to do the furniture while the Eufy is doing the floor. When I'm done, I do what I show in the video including vacuuming out the Eufy with the Dyson while both vacuums are out, then I empty the Dyson, and put it away until the next week. Though it sounds odd, it really is a good system.

Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
