He ruined his cereer by holding onto submissions too long in most his fights to the point where that's now what he's known for
Isn’t he still competing in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments?
He is just aggressive and 100% serious about taking your life in the battlefield.
He's a real life gladiator in a sense
@@omarantonetti8417 thats only good if u got the control and intelligence to match. He got cut from the ufc specifically for holding onto submissions too long
That is literally all I think about when I see.. "oh, the guy that holds onto submissions for too long and tries to hurt people"
What a POS
Non sense, he got a bad rep after the ADCC incident and then fighters just used it as an excuse for getting clapped, Noticeably Shields and Pierce, slow the tape down Palharris blatantly let's go within a second of the ref touching him, truly disgusting when slowed down and watched in slow mo, extremely poor sportsmanship from those two goofs who got clapped and shame on any fans who criticize without even watching the video in depth.
Having a bad childhood doesn’t mean you get to be a dick and permanently injure other people purposefully in sport, good riddance
^
A bad childhood has a profound effect on an adult, most people couldn't imagine.
Not saying what he did was right but a shitty childhood fucks you up mentally.
You are right, but I think it’s to the point of him not being rational enough to follow that, and trusting an attitude that helped him survive whatever messed up shit happened to him.
Obviously it doesn’t justify anything nobody is saying it does it just explains it.
Based
This guy fought for darker reasons than most people, and he was terrifying.
I genuinely think he was in MMA because he enjoyed hurting people.
@@CS-zn6ppnah maybe but he was clueless and looked helpless in the fights where his leg locks didn’t work he just sits there confused looking at his coaches after falling a leg lock before getting koed in one fight . I think he is just slow
he is slow.... he has like a delay on his mind.@@dc4lcorkscrewpatdaGIGA
@@CS-zn6ppisn’t that why most these guys fight?
no he was taught like that i didn't know u couldn't target the leg in football until i got in a fight cuz of it
Dude is one kill away from being a serial killer
It seems to me you don't know the definition of "serial"...
@@DasWarVorbestimmt, seems like you don't.
Maybe the joke went over your head.
Dude a menace
That bastard should have been charged, not only banned.
He fought dirty. Glad he is banned.
Almost as dirty as the ANC😂
Probably pissed dirty too.
However, I respect his resolve to finish someone. We have too many tap tap folk, not enough killers.
Almost as dirty as woman beater jon jones
He's fighting in other promotions now.
@@Traps510the knee kicker. Idgaf about his personal life You're weird.
Honorable mention for Shane Carwin, his run in the UFC was one of the scariest things ever
I get why people shit on Brock Lesnar (now more than ever) but the fight they had was one of the best ones in heavyweight title history and that’s crazy.
Would be interesting hearing about that childhood.
Bro look at Fredrick Douglas . He had a savage child hood. As a slave he was not allowed to go to school. So he tricked poor white kids. To learn!!!
Eating pig slop is crazy
@@xenoex9076bro , the level of poverty is fucked.
When you're not treated like human as child , you're going to grow up into a beast.
@@adrianmedyanik8814 I'm sure a few of us out there would definitely agree with that, myself included.
Should've made a rule that if you hold onto a sub, the ref can punt you in the head
Damn that sounds like a rough childhood
He's like fighting with an alligator when you think tapping will set you free..
He had a terrible childhood, so he thought he would break opponents bones.
Many people have tough childhoods. Some people are just shit people.
Frank Mir liked to hold on past the refs call. He didn’t get tossed from the ufc, but he did get his face crushed by a big white gorilla.
I think I mentally willed him to hold onto that knee bar. Didnt work in the second fight. Had to wait for Cain to see Lesnard get a righteous beatdown.
And got knocked out loads of times
What is more crazy to me is that fighters who see the tapping is not working do not fight back like eye poking or something - they just surrender.
Oleg came to our gym a couple years ago and did a seminar. the man is full of details about how to snap every single ligament in the knee. Unintentionally funny and very cool..but very scary at the same time. He does not fuck around demonstrating the techniques.
imagine if he was championship level
It’s honestly a shame me and my dad followed his whole time in the ufc and he ruined his whole potential of being champ anywhere nobody trust him now truly sad
Sorry about his childhood, but he was a dirty fighter. Had to go!
After watching his fights that bad childhood malarkey makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Eat that slop.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🐖
Hahahaa
Manny Pacquiao had a terrible childhood and he isnt a dirty fighter. Stop making excuses for dirty fighters.
@Sin41255 Good one 👍
A lot of people had rough childhoods. He's just a POS!
I'm saying. My mom was on that shit I was born with it in my system I remember having to beg outside at 6 for food. Stealing snicker bars to the point where they started giving them to me. Now I have my own house kids wife great job and neighborhood.
@@anothaeasywindid you have to superglue your own slash wounds
@@anothaeasywinthat’s bad but it isn’t the bad childhood olympics dude and your childhood still isn’t anywhere as bad as growing up dirt poor in Brazil
Bro stfu having a rough childhood and being forced to eat pig slop are different that would fuck you up for life
Tell us about what you went through in your life and let's compare with him. Since you clearly know what you're talking about
He wasn't the 1st guy to be released for holding a submission. Renato babalu sobral was. When be subbed David heath at ufc 74.
He deserve to be kicked out, what a goof. Oh no he had a bad childhood, so did a lot of us, doesn't mean you can go around being a prick to everybody.
He was fine with potentially ruining another fighter's career...kicking him put was the right thing to do.
Ya no... Fawk that guy... He ruined careers
I remember renting the first UFC'S from blockbuster when I was a kid man it was amazing back then my fav back then was probably Dan Severn
I used to do the same as a teenager! I’ve never seen another comment like this as I’ve commented about this more than once. True OG fans. Lol
@@Burlykim13 everytime a new one dropped me my dad and my brother would go rent it lol good times
Same here. Used the dubbing to copy them. Carried those vhs tapes around forever.
@@jsims563 same
This was when you could juice like there's no tomorrow too
He held onto the hurt
Then he held onto there legs 😂
The people in these comment sections don't know the conditions that he had to live through grew up in Brazil abused made him eat pig slop no people who cared for him
Guys a zero to his core
Dude like that gotta get the Tonya harding special
I can't remember happy days from my childhood. Still it doesn't made me to hurt other people.
Hurt people, hurt people
Scary and a very unsportsmanlike view of ufc rules. Glad he’s out of the ufc
Oleg is my favorite Eastern European actors
Bad childhood.....good excuse.
Rough childhood or no, that man was intentionally Injuring people after the match ended. Which as far as I’m concerned is a crime.
He belongs in jail or a mental institution til he can function in society
Straight outve a baki episode
Not just for holding onto submissions it was for how long he held onto submissions .
Literally saying the same thing. lol
I think bro was into fighting just to kill somebody 😂
Dana with that disapproving head shake
The worst submission I’ve ever seen was Frank Mir’s kimura on Big Nog. He just kept twisting til his arm snapped....
Referee should of been allowed to kick him in the head
First guy to get cut from the UFC for holding on to a submission was babalo vs Heath 😂 your welcome 🤗
This guy is feared in the BJJ community. Honestly hes pretty scary 🤣
Didn't know jackhammers were the tool of bad childhoods.
Я тактаров приехал в сша: Мой оригинал я сверну его в бараний рог... Я сильно остаю в борьбе...
Igor Vonchanchyn was my favorite fighter back in 2005.
I had to eat Frosted Flakes with 2% milk.
😂😂😂
Whole milk is gross anyways
Back in my day you had to frost your own flakes
Hah you got frosted flakes and 2% milk?
Know your privilege, I had to eat corn flakes and milk my own cows straight into my bowl.
@@JaysonKing2009 spoiled child thinks owning a cow and having fresh milk everyday is something bad.
This guy sounds awesome, gotta watch some of his videos.
There’s no excuse for holding on to submissions. Khabib should bash him
What does having a bad childhood have anything to do with an adult holding subs
I think frank shamrock was the first true mixed martial artist!!
Joe's wrong about him being the first. Babalu held on to a choke long after the ref (Mazagatti probably) tried to stop it, think that was back in 2007/8. Dana was not happy.
He was juiced out of his mind
I thought babalu got kicked for holding onto David heath to long.
Where he at today I wonder
I miss him 😢
He was not the first guy to get kicked out for holding in to a submission. That would be Renato Sorbal.
He didnt hold a submission too long- he legitimately tried to break people's tendons. That's not growing up poor, thats growing up wrong.
Dude trauma is crazy crazy shit.
Hey, @Joe Rogan I recognize those mountains I was raised there that’s Fillmore at the 126 going from Santa Paula to Fillmore California
Joe check this attack out!
I did know the guy from the predator movie was in the UFC.
All that rough childhood and submission holding shit don’t matter once jon jones gets his hands on ya 🕺
I hear also a piece of 💩 on the low when no cameras around 😂
At level, you must have learned control.
Stop mentioning bad childhoods when talking about people's bad behavior.
Designate a friend to deal with palhares. Not all conflicts are solved in the ring.
They kicked Renato Sobral out of the UFC for holding a submission too long before Palhares.
Awesome Amazing and very Sad Stories.
I believe that this guy is just mentally insane and he need professional help. It's not about him being a bully! It's about his mental state! Some people are just not as strong as others when it comes to recovering from childhood trauma. I hope that he get the help that he need, and I'm happy that he was kicked out of MMA competition for being unstable.
He was too stupid to succeed. Childhood has nothing to do with something as basic as releasing a submission.
Oleg “the Russian bear” taktarov
Loved him!
I've watched the replays. The only one he doesn't seem to stop when the ref tells him to is the Mike Pierce fight. You don't stop because your opponent taps you stop when the referee tells you to just like knockouts.
No, you stop when the opponent taps.
"you don't stop because your opponent taps"
Please visit a psychiatrist you psycho!
@@zavodszkiabel7919Not in the UFC. Its not over till the ref calls it.
However most people release in .2-.5s after the ref steps in, palhares stops in over 1.2s on average, and he doesnt gradually increase pressure/rotation to get a tap without permanent injury/screaming pain..he immediately tries to rip your knee off and then holds it 5x longer than most fighters do.
If he looked at my leg I would tap.
Amazing Stories.
Umm. Why did you let that monster keep hurting peeps
I wonder what he does after retired a few years .. the character, behavior and mentality is not an easy switch that can be turned on and off after this long. Goodluck.
He's not unstoppable though. Alan Belcher and Emil Meek both outgrappled him and knocked his a** out.
That tree stump was an issue.
Renato sobral was kicked out years before him for not letting go of a choke against David Heath. Heath should have kept Sobrals wife out of the fight talk.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he the only guy to ever get bounced from UFC for not letting go? I know he then got bounced out of two other ones also.
Pretty sure most great fighters come from a troubled background. Excuses, excuses
Palhares would have been one of the best easily
On god man.... When i went back and rewatched his fights he was such a beast.... He genuinely scared his opponents... His skill was unbelievable in jiu jitsu.. never understood why he held those submissions when he absolutely dominated his opponents... Wasted potential 😰
So that just excludes all the evil things he does ..
Got it
How many great fighters did dana not like and get rid of, shows the knowledge dana had on mma
How many fighters beat their families, but are still fighting? MMA is fun, but professional sports lets too many psychopaths continue. Unfortunately, there is a toxic psyche that often accompanies that level of achievement. Being that singularly focused is not the norm. It can be rewarded, but it can't come at the cost of others who are not a part of the fight game.
I was tortured in Foster Care
I dont go around taking it out on other people
Good Riddance
I hate that Joe always reverse that guy. He was the dirtiest fighter in history he should have never been allowed to compete
Even if you tap fast you were going to be screaming.
Babalu was the first guy to get kicked out of the UFC for holding onto a submission
that’s what the video just said
@Papa Cris☠️ He's said Palhares not Babalu. Clean your ears out. Babalu got kickout if the UFC in 2007 for holding onto a choke hold on bobby Smith. Palhares got kicked out in 2010. Listen you dummy
Joe is high as a kite 🪁
Royce Gracie used to hold subs too long too.
Wasn't Babalu the first person to get kicked out of the ufc for holding onto a sub for too long.
The holds are the only reason I know his name. Sad waste of talents
Why is Joe's Dad dissing Joe?
That is not a good excuse, the guy has no respect for his fellow fighters, good reaction from Dana White. 👏👏👏👏
I'm genuinely sorry about his childhood.... but that's NO excuse for his holds!!!! None, whatsoever!!!!
