2 years today 😞 I miss you so much Grandad. love you xxx
My condolences. My granddad choked on a cigarette while shaving in 1954. Then he stopped smoking.
Your grandfather must have been a lovely man.
I am on the 5th day of my quit. I am 58 and had been smoking since I was 15. I have tried several times to quit before but had always failed. This time is different. I have found it so easy from the beginning. Following a bronchial chest infection I spent a week leading up to my quit date psyching myself up on the internet with the medical facts of smoking and with the real life consequences of not stopping in time. Arthur's Story has been one important source of inspiration for me. It will continue to be so no matter how long ago my last cigarette was. Thankyou.
How's it goin
you doing ok?
Thinking of you so much today. I hope your looking after grandma too Mr. I miss you both so much . Love you both to the moon and back. Sleep well my angels X

jennifer watson I’m sorry for your loss sweetheart :(
May he rest in peace. He must have been a wonderful grandfather. 🤗
My Mom quit but she waited too long and the damage was done!!!! She died at 63 from pneumonia! She passed on her 63rd birthday. I'm 60 now and have never smoked and am very healthy, thank the Lord above!!!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing this video. It is so important. I quit smoking around 30 years old. I am a nurse and worked in the ICUs and ER and now hospice. My first job was on a respiratory ventilator unit and about half of the respiratory therapists smoked. I quit immediately but I never smoked all the time. I was lucky. I lost my mother-in-law to smoking. She smoked when she was on oxygen and had to be hospitalized for a repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm and it was the first time I saw her pink. When the surgery was over she went right back to smoking. She was from Ireland and the smoking not only destroyed her lungs but her bones as well. She never ever complained.
My mother passed away in 2018 from COPD. With years of being on an oxygen machine with various medications that ate up her pension. He retirement was being ill thanks to cigarettes. My father was diagnosed with lung and kidney cancer last year due to smoking. The chemo almost ended him.
As the late Yul Brynner said: Whatever you do.. Just don't smoke.
Bless his heart. My dad died of metastatic lung adenocarcinoma from 56 years of smoking. Many of those were chain smoking. He was my best friend, as well as my dad.
My gma has told me that when she was young, she saw a man who worked on a ferry boat every year that was a smoker. When she was 10, she noticed that he had developed some sort of cancer on his lip, and the next year he was gone. Mind you, this was well before anyone know that smoking was harmful in any way, and some doctors even recommended it at the time. I don't know how long it took her to put two and two together, but I'm glad she did.
Chain smoking nearly induced kidney failure for me, my lungs must be destroyed. Ive destroyed my body and health with smokeless tobacco and cigarettes. Damage cannot be undone, only thing I could do was quit and try to take care of myself (a little too late of course). If i could start this life over Id never touch nicotine products.
Are you still kicking?
@@johnkimball5872 *kicking* looool

Missing you grandad..
Had to watch this today because I needed to feel close. I've seen 4 dandilions today so I know your listening to me and it's only 10.30.
Love you with all I am x
So sorry for your loss, I’ve watched this several times-it helps me stay quit. I’m glad he made this video. Lost my mother in law to cigarettes and my father had a massive stroke due to them. If given one wish it would be they didn’t exist. The only product made to consume that we know will addict you, kill you, take thousands of dollars from you, and literally has 0 benefits. May the owners of Phillip Morris rot in hell.
God bless your family, I’m sorry for your loss
@@Kristin49 A cousin's husband worked for BAT, then resigned to run his father's soft drinks business. I used to cadge fags as a student, then stopped at 25. I'm glad he and I made these decisions.
I have not smoked for 2 years. I am only 27 i saved myself all my family smokers.
Im about a year and a half clean. No more smoking for me. Ever! I seen a lung surgery video were a surgeon sticks a teloscopic device into the patient (a smoker) and the mans lungs were covered in black veins filled with tar. And some of the tar hung down from his lungs like grapes ready to burst.
Its weird because i cant stand the smell of cigarettes anymore. It irritates me so much i wanna attack whoever is purposely trying to poison me.
IN Australia, there were ads where a surgeon squeezed the fat out of a dead 32 year old smoker's aorta. As if seeing that isn't enough of a disincentive.
He said it best with “anybody smoking now is a damn fool.”
The evidence is there
It’s expensive
It’s inconvenient
Even if it doesn’t Jill you, it’ll make you a nicotine slave
Well said sir
Only 57, WOW he looks 97!!!!
No! He has been married for 57 years. Didn't you hear that correctly?
Arthur,I am sorry 🙏
I lost my freedom to smoke
God bless him, he looks like he did have a long life!! RIP
Not long enough..
@@jenniferwatson6639 Do you mind me asking how old he was?

Thank you YT once again from censoring my comments despite i did not write anything negative.
1:53 nicotine isn't the killer its the mode of delivery . Ie burning. Its the tar and carcinogenic materials to get the nicotine
Im 16 and I smoke since I was 14 but I can't stop myself smoking, its like a drug . Can someone give me some a advice to stop smoking please?
Hi - our NHS website has a few tips: www.nhs.uk/live-well/quit-smoking/nhs-stop-smoking-services-help-you-quit/
Allen Carrs book is a great first step in becoming a non-smoker.
Look up the book The Happiness Trap by Russell Harris MD 😂
@@Bone74838it ain't a first step, it's THE step.
Am almost six months free
Poor old man 😔 angry grandpa
I'd arrogantly look at them from above saying things like "dumb smokers got what they deserved for trying to look cool lol" but I'm a smoker so I sympathize with them being dealt a bad hand with the availability of tobacco
What's to blame is not the availability of xyz... just because something is readily available, it does not mean that you have to buy/take it. At the end of the day, it all comes down to choices that we make, and just to clarify, I say this as a former smoker.
I feel bad like they should never make this
They kind of have to in order to show people what smoking can do.
They made this to show awareness. My grandfather shared his story to make others realise. 6 years he's been gone and I hurt everyday
Nicotine is Highly Addictive!!! 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬 🚬
People have been made aware that smoking is unhealthy and dangerous since the mid 70’s, so he had almost 50 years to quit and chose not to…now his bad habit is costing other taxpayers millions.
Nope he's paid more tax on the cigarettes to keep nhs going. It's obesity that's the strain on the NHS
