All hail Willie Mullins - Britain's champion trainer

Willie Mullins secured a famous first triumph in the British trainers’ championship heading at Sandown Park on Saturday. The perennial champion in Ireland since 2008 was confirmed as champion after El Fabiolo finished runner-up in the bet365 Celebration Chase, making it mathematically impossible for his closest pursuers, Dan Skelton and Paul Nicholls, to catch him. For good measure, he then landed the bet365 Gold Cup with Minella Cocooner plus had the third home.
Mullins becomes the first Irish-based trainer to win the British title since the legendary Vincent O’Brien achieved the feat in successive years in 1953 and 1954.
