I've been stung by a red velvet ant once on my foot in florida, they love dry areas and funny enough i didn't expect wasps to not fly. was a seriously painful experience.
Its crazy how metal nature is. These insects paralyzing their prey and laying eggs in their body while its still alive is something straight out of a horror movie yet all of this is happening around us on a micro scale 24/7.
I think its funny how the europeon bees are defenseless but the Japanese hony bees will literally BAKE THEM ALIVE

Tarantula hawks are the most reasonable wasps from my own experience. I've seen a few in my time and they just kind of exist around humans even if you pass near their feeding grounds

And I already have a pet, I’m not gonna feed them and gain a second one that gets pissed any time I forget. And I never try to attack them, like I said if you accidentally get near them they’ll pounce. Then again since I live next to a lake so I get million of mosquitoes on all of my windows. Thankfully we have giant orb weaver spiders that around our house so they catch like half of them

Yellow Jackets have built a nest inside one of the walls in my bedroom. The scratching sounds they're making are so loud you can hear it from the opposite side of the room, and over time the sounds have spread out and covered part of an adjacent wall as well. The biggest nest I've had on my house was a bald-faced hornet nest the size of a beach ball, but this one seems dead set on beating it.

Yes but there was also the time a Canadian destroyer Dan out of normal shells, so used its star shells (white phosphorus) to turn an enemy ship into a floating nightmare land.
I once killed a hornet, slowly. I started with it's wings, then it's legs, then it's mandibles, the stinger, the antenna then everything else until it stopped moving. I was stung by a crap load of digger hornets, screamed like a little girl, I got some retribution, but I'm still not satisfied.
