He never had the heart to play strong and to his full potential after his rookie year. He was lazy on rim protection, lost easy layups when he could’ve just gone strong and dunked the ball and missed so many passes in the paint cause he wasn’t paying attention. He played extremely small for as big and powerful as he was. I don’t hate the guy but to say his play was disappointing is a massive understatement.
Ayton is the worst. He never consistently put in strong effort and seemed fine with complacency. The demands for max contracts was just the laughable icing on the cake
Ayton will forever be know as the guy who got his snot blocked by Giannis! Giannis IS THE MAN!!!! That block was more impressive and more difficult than Lebron's and its no contest!

As a Suns fan we were very happy when DA got traded... At this point in his career it has become clear he will never be a max player and I am sorry Portland is stuck with his huge contract.

Mavs offered their 10th pick and Hardaway Jr to the Suns for Ayton that turned out to be Lively. Thank you Phoenix for refusing that offer. Then Suns gave him to the Blazers basically for 2nd round picks.
Mavs are 🤡s for that. They even tried to trade for Kuzma. They definitely dodged those bullets.
