This song sounds like the intro was written by Van Halen circa 1987 and then it transitions into a Fountains of Wayne song from 2002...I love everything about this

Weezer at their best is when they focus on the guitars and good melody, this song is good weezer
It's good, but still not as good as the White Album. Rivers vocal Melody is good, but not as excellent as King Of The World or California Kids, that's what really set that album apart.

“You got me crying like when Aslan died.” Why am I so amused by this? It starts off with this guy thinking of this girl and then out of the blue you get this Narnia reference and then like the reference never happened, it’s back to the girl. The best part of it all is how effortlessly the reference flows along with the song. Thank you Weezer for throwing in that reference and doing it so gracefully, I appreciate it very much.
Classic Weezer! Nerdy pop culture reference balanced with heart wrenching angst, yet somehow not cloying not overpowering, by one of the first and one of the best. That's the weeziest lines that ever weezed in a Weezer song.

A year and a half later and I'm still anxiously awaiting this album! OK Human has proved Blue and Pinkerton aren't the best Weezer can create, and Van Weezer feels like it can do it as well.

The "All I wanted is to be wanted by you." hits me in a way it shouldn't. Like I know for a fact that Rivers is married 50 year old dad but that line with those palm mutes takes me back to being a doe-eyed teenager with unrequited love soundtracked by Weezer pretending that they related to me.

So, I was totally fine with the Black Album experiment, I was interested, and it had it's moments, but ultimately it ain't exactly my thing. No complaints though, artists gotta do this.
However with Van Weezer? Gods if this new album is THIS good I'm gonna be out of my mind in love with this one. I am waaay the heck (censored because Weezer) excited for this album to come out.
