I'm trying to remember the After Forever song they're playing at the end. It's on the tip if my tongue...AH it's Follow in the Cry, on Prison of Desire. Simone was even more awkward onstage back then. XD Still we love her.
I don't feel the same dislike for modern Simone as you guys seem to.. I watched Retrospect and it seemed like she was on fire that night, she sounded terrific and yes she didn't act quite as sexy as this but I did enjoy her stage presence. And I don't mind the funny faces lol.. you're allowed to have fun in a band..
True, her voice on the albums changed, and in my opininion too, for the better. You can't deny though that her live performances have declined the past few years. This can be easily explained: she suffered from MRSA, an illness people die from. Now she is pregnant, so I hope that after all this she will return to her past performance and beyond! xD Now she sings without breathing, a weird accent (because of breathing), but this is easily explained by that illness, which is now gone :)
Yup, I prefer the other one :-) That's the catch. To me, perfect singing in a metal band is Annlouice Loegdlund for example and Heidi Parviainen so maybe I'm not the right person to talk about Simone... Still, never mind everything else, I love their music and will continue to follow their work. I wish all the best to her and her new baby. METAL!!
I wish Simone still possessed this energy and concentration... No funny faces, no lack of interest, no self-centredness... She really shared her energy and that was something great. But it didn't last.
Thank you for that nice comment. I think I actually kinda agree on your opinion but, still, on every studio album her performance is great (because technology can make magic happen? not a fan of that thought, though) and that part makes me believe she was way better then... And - MRSA is never gone. It's bacteria that when you get, you have it forever and if it enters somewhere it shouldn't it has consequences. So she'll never actually be cured. I happen to know that...
I think there is no problem with the funny faces or something esp. it goes with the interaction with the audiences. I will agree with you with the energy and concentration thingy. I don't know what is happening to her voice but her voice live is weak. Unlike before, like during the early tours for DYU. I also noticed that her enthusiasm is not that big anymore. I don't know, but that's what I have noticed.
Damn, Simone got some booty on her. Not a fan of the screaming/growling the guy does, but her voice is beautiful. I ought to get this album and more of their earlier works.
Yeah I must agree on the lack of concentration. I don't know if it's really the song that is really hard (which is really hard to sing) or I don't know. There are 2 or 3 things that lacks on her performances nowadays. Hope this won't ruin the fans' attachment to them.
I miss this Simone, she was 18 back then, full of energy and seemed to enjoy her duty. Now she is standing like a mast, the voice is gone and she fucked up The Retrospect show. Wish Simone focused more on what she is responsible for instead of make up, hair and blabla. Still love her so much and hope she comes back more motivated.
Exactly!! I think everbody is homesick the time that she was a true metal woman, when she delightfully to shaked her hair, butt and breasts. Nowadays she is not funny and very boring, she only cares about appearance, makeup, money, blog, travels, healthy life... And don't care with the music itself I have no hope anymore, I already gave up loving her. But I wish you good luck!
Hmm?! So, there was a time when she cared more about music and having a good time than her hair and makeup! She is beautiful, but didn't know she also WAS sexy. Good ol' days....
True, although her illness played a serious part in it, affecting her singing capabilities. The energy on stage is, maybe not gone, but seriously different.
@@rolsen1304Took her more than 10 years to reach a good level. She just didn't care to improve her voice all those years. She cared more for her face and her loreal collabs. Not a professional singer. She should have just quit and been a model.
@@nikosv95 bs, she suffered stage fright and had a tendency to tense up on stage which threw off her vocals. Her voice was better than 90% of female vocals live already then, now she's in the 99th percentile.
@@rolsen1304 Stage fright? maybe when she started singing as an amateur. But 10 years later? Did she still have stage fright then? Her voice took a serious downfall after about 2010, ans she didn't improve until about 2019.And i'm not just talking about how she stopped singing classical. She was out of tune live all the time. Even in the albums she underperfomed. She was out of tune at times in Requiem, and she sounded nasal and pitchy in Holographic. Epica deserved a professional singer all those years, and not someone like her, who didn't put any effort in training and maintaining her voice, since she cared more about her beauty and her modelling.
I do love Epica and have great respect for Simone but she just can't sing anymore and it shows on Retrospect so badly that I caught myself flinching a few times on some of her mistakes :-/ I'm very sad I feel that way, to be honest. I don't know how a trained singer can get that bad.... To me it's not that much in the stage presence, cause guys can pull that out on their own, but her singing that is the essence and it should be perfect.
Some funny faces will never ruin a good performance, of course. But the funny faces, plus lack of concentration, plus being out of tune all the time and finally not caring anymore are too much ^^
18 years old Simone :D She improved soooo much!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Awww sus comienzos que lindos todos.
Simone's hotness is melting my computer screen.
QUE LINDA ESTA ACA SIMONE
wow!!!

Is not. It is Follow in the cry, from After Forever (curious that you don't know that!)

who is the song of the minute 1:05 ??

Seif al Din, from the album The Phantom Agony.

Simone is not the same anymore... missing the old times... totally agree with ReVampFrance
@ssseknul No i don't, the funny thing of this concert is the boy with the hawk, is me ;-)

I like the way she used to move on the stage but c'mon... she can't sing that good here.
me estas diciendo que aquí tiene 18 años?
es muy guapa, pero aparenta muuucha más edad no me jodas
