  • After lunch at the Juanico Winery outside of Montevideo, Uruguay, we were treated to some Uruguayan Tango. This video shows two couples dancing the Tango doing the same moves, then switching partners near the end, then back again to their original parnters.

Before they started dancing the Uruguayan Tango for us, they did say that the Uruguayan Tango has some dance steps or moves that are different from the Argentinean Tango. That is all that I know.

That is Tango choreographed for the stage, so it is not really Tango. Neither Uruguayan nor Argentine.
Tango is probably older or at least as old as both nations, so it is neither. The proper term is RIOPLATENSE

im not that educated about the tango in general like say salsa. can anyone tell me what are differences between uruguayan and say argentine and american tango? is it the music, basic steps, or other aspests that make it different. I would really appreciate any information?

Currently, there is no difference between uruguayan and argentinian tango because as someone said before Tango is from Rio de la Plata. However, with American tango there is a huge difference because it is danced with a ballroom style and this does not represent tango´s roots.

Uruguayan tango its like Bolvian Jazz or Chilean blues, music played over the whole world, but born on one place: Buenos Aires.

Tango co-evolved on both sides of Rio de la Plata, some people attribute it only to Argentina incorrectly because Argentina/Buenos Aires are larger and better known compared to Uruguay/Montevideo.

  • @marceloalejandrovarela6131

Its anither way to dance the original argentine tango. The Tango is Buenos Aires for all the world. Buenos Aires is Argentina.
