But for people to call him the Goat is an absolute blasphemy. Defender will be known as how well they're on defence and I've never seen anyone did it as elegantly as Maldini

greatest player of all time. yes people can argue the dribbling of maradona, the prime of messi, the mentality of ronaldo. but this man was the greatest. whether it was his reading of the game, his ability to intercept play, his ability to be in the right place at the perfect time almost every single time, his leadership, his adaptability (could play anywhere across the back line), his insane timing of tackles, his speed and intelligence, he played until he was 41, he played in 8 ucl finals, captaining milan in most of those, he won numerous scudetto’s and even came third in the ballon d’or in 2003 behind nedved and henry. he is the greatest captain in sporting history, the greatest left-back and the greatest centre-half. defenders go unnoticed but this man is the best defender of all time, and for me, the greatest footballer in the history of the game. immense.
