Please never do that! It will ruin their spine! Babies will sit on their own once the muscels are strong enough after they had enough tummy time and/or are crawling.

You shouldn't sit up your baby until it is able to actively sitting up by itself. Otherwise their muscles aren't strong enough for proper support. That baby is waaaay to young to have that strength. You see how it's falling down in itself

@@jacqui.m All babies that sit and try to interact with something infront of them, will fall down in that posture. Just because a baby has strong enough muscles to sit, does not mean they yet know how to activate said muscles to sit upright and hold their balance, they obviously need to learn that.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with assisting your baby as long as you are sure that they are strong enough for it.
My baby is 6 months and is crawling aswell as pulling herself up in her crib, yet when she tries to sit she squashes down with her chest on the floor and her legs spread wide out. She has crazy motoric development and muscles, for everything other than sitting, because she just does not understand the position yet.
Now, i am not gonna help her, because i am in no rush, but i will not shame anyone for assisting their baby when i have absolutely no clue how strong or weak they are.

Seems like I've studied human medicine 5 years for nothing then.
I'm not shaming anyone. But it's not healthy.
When your baby is strong enough - of course there is nothing wrong with it. But the baby in the video clearly isn't. Holding itself passively and actively are two different things
