Decriminalizing shoplifting has created a culture of runaway lawlessness.
Shoplifting is an entitlement for the POCs. They call it atonement.
Even the sea birds walk in the store and steal a bag of chips.
The seagulls sure got the memo!
🤣
LOL Too Funny !!!
4 dollar bag of chips. Seagulls: like nah
I think the seagull scene could have been edited into the clip!
I've owned wholesale and retail.
And I can tell you this, after you have been "hit" enough, you just shut down and move on.
When property owners and management won't do a thing, you just pack up and leave.
And when they say they are going to sue you, you tell them to go right ahead.
And when their lawyers call you, you tell them to bring it.
In the end, their lawyers know you are right and you in fact did the right thing.
When you are constantly being robbed, when your employees lives are threatened, when the security people are stealing from you and threating your employees lives, you just leave.
And when law enforcement just takes the report and leave, you have done all you can.
The pharmacy?
I'd would just have a walk up window behind bullet proof glass.
The locals don't care. They really don't.
They see a business and think it is a bottomless pit of money.
But then you have those who see "Inc" after a company name and they too think it is a bottomless pit of money.
They are not.
So if you want to stay in business, you close that store and open another in a better place.
And when the locals start to cry and whine that they are not being "served" you tell them,
"You brought this on and you got what you wanted. So you deal with it."
You are doing good service. Reporting what mainstream media and politicians don't want people to watch. Good luck and be safe ✌👍
reality of the democrats.
Double the number of police officers and defund City Hall. --- Save San Francisco. ---
Nothing is going to change until all the democrats are removed, And even after that it will take decades to get san francisco back on track.
Most businesses are gone. Big tech are gone and alongside all the jobs.
San Fransisco is dead
It deserves to be saved!
This is what happens when people loose there moral foundation
100% right. Morally bankrupt Calipornia
Lose
Exactly. Normalization of immorality and criminality leads to the present-day dystopia that is San Francisco

Two ways to drive people away and then take the property back to the government:
1. Fire , successfully implemented in Maui, HI
2. Crime: so far pretty successful in CA
Keeping everything behind the counter no doubt hurts the shoplifters' feelings. 😩😩 Another good one,Leo.
That’s how they do it at the auto parts dealers and at the fast food places ,it works for sure
Disgusting what the politicians have done to this city. Criminals and homeless have all the rights. Unbelievable.
The so called" politicians"
They voted for ARE the Criminals!!! Do you get it now????
@@lkj781 Indeed, in a democracy, people get the rulers they deserve. Democracy is always right. It is laughable for the liberal majority to complain.
WRONG: The PEOPLE did this. The citizens of SF are the problem the Govt is the symptom. Until all the people in SF die or leave it will never change.
@@lkj781 I met a woman who fled to Arizona. "We ruined it, we took a good thing too far."
Woke culture 🤣🤣
I remember the Walgreens on University Avenue in Palo Alto got a stash and dash and the cashier told me not to look at him. I laughed and told her she's not suppose to look at him but that doesn't apply to me, lol. Keep up the great work!
That’s right only Walgreens employees have to follow their rules not the public. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your support.
His laugh is great, so sinister lol
In Chicago, the Walgreens are blaring classical music to deter loitering and maybe tranquilize people.
They tried that here, but it didn’t work , the neighbors had noise complaints
There's a 711 in west Los Angeles that is putting on the same song over and over again, and it seems to be working. This song is Africa.
OMG, you are in my hood now! Even before this Walgreens made national news, I used to shop here and same with the Ross upstairs (now closed). I got so used to shoplifters walking out with stuff and then waiting at the bus stop that I stopped noticing how much shoplifting was going on.
The whole building where Ross used to be is for lease now ,all the shops in there are closed, thank you for sharing and sorry this happened to your neighborhood
Zombieland is here and you capture it perfectly!@@LeoMetalTraveler
You are one great, brave reporter walking the remains of a now a pathetic city. I will be following up with your updates and stay safe brother!🙏
Much appreciated
as much as i feel bad i understand that SF 's tax base has to get smaller and property prices have to drop so low that the property taxes hit rock bottom before the government does a 180 on the crime situation.
It will never change. The people in SF will never change thier voting habits. Anyone thinking otherwise is delusional.
That will be a good day for all the bad cops
Shocking, i lived in san francisco and san mateo twice over 3 decades left in 2005, bay aera is finished no comming back by the looks of it.
When even the seagulls are shoplifting, your days as a store are numbered.
🪿👀😁
Born and raised in the Richmond district. Moved to Texas in the 90s, as I saw this coming. “Progressives” in SF voted for this. The only solution to this problem is to vote for Republicans, to bring back common sense law and order.
San Francisco defunded the Police budget by $120 million. Democrat run hellscapes. 🤦
Bolshevik scourge

God, i cant even believe what that area looks like. I grew up there on 21st and Geary 50 years ago. That whole area and stores were our playground. It was vibrant, busy, fun, and safe. The Walgreens was a Value Giant, and changed its name to Giant Value. The donut shop is still there back when a cup of coffee was 10 cents! I blame the dam politicians at every level in that city. Im so glad i live in a nice, small, clean town today. I wont even go to SF to visit - I have no desire...
Keep up the excellent reporting …..good and truthful stuff. For a change. Very sad.I worked downtown for over 30 years.
Thank you for your support, and for sharing ,yes more videos soon!

I’m wondering about the Hills Plaza area. Where we had our offices prior to shutting down in 2006. It must be empty down there as well.
Sobering to see what happened to the businesses. Walgreens was rumored to allow shoplifting on purpose to provide a reason for write-off and to get out of leases to close stores that have not been profitable for a while, but other businesses probably don't have the same mindset as Walgreens.
I work for a large retailer like Walgreens. We still have to pay the lease if we close a store, but it's cheaper than operating at a loss.
Gracias otroves Papi Grande ...
Appreciate your man on the street reporting 😂
Thank you ,for the support
I remember being at a Walgreens in 2021 the shelves were practically empty
Now, everything is locked and behind plexiglass
Thanks for showing how great biden, newsom, pelosi, schiff helped create !
KEEP VOTING " BLUE " AND IT WON'T GET ANY BETTER !
There is another Walgreens at 25 Point Lobos Avenue, that is all the way further to the west at Geary Boulevard, it's in Outer Richmond.
This is what YOU VOTED FOR!!!
Its sad to see the rapid decline.
Do a video on on the people buying the stolen goods in civic center plaza

They are also setting up stores on Amazon and selling the stolen items there

Thanks for the sub! The 90s what’s the best era! Thank you for sharing!
SF gets what it voted for!
Years ago, as a child, I knew the area around the Walgreens shown here. I watched a few films at theaters up & down Geary St, so I was shocked to see the state of the Alexandria theater. Sad. Sad. Sad.
another great video! thank you Leo.

Great narration and insight in this video!👏
Thank you for your support ,more videos will be uploaded soon!

Not surprised. The progressive citizens enthusiastically voted for Prop 47. Law of unintended consequences.
Great show man. 👍

The seagull walking out was beautiful!

Amazing! If I lived there, I'd move... as fast as possible. I'd pack as much goods as my car would hold & just go... where, you ask? Anywhere would be better than that. Anyways, thank you for the enlightening video.
thank you for your support! I’ve read that in the last three years 150,000 people left the city, that’s about 20% of the population
so where do you move to when it comes to your town, it is just a matter of time? this socialist cancer will spread across the planet. sadly people who are leaving, actually voted for it, now that is the unreal insanity of the modern population, go figure.
Thanks for moving to our more rural areas in droves and driving up the prices of homes 2x
Great reporting👍
Thank you for your support. Next video should be out soon!
@6:56 amazing insight, these laws only help the Govt and Corps. The small business owners and the local people are the only ones hurt by these laws and crimes. Thanks for doing Gods work and exposing the current state of the issues on the ground. More people need to see this.

Loved your insight as to why the companies encourage/allow the theft
Maybe time for the punks and artists to come back to the city soon?
They have gone off to destroy other cities like Portland and Seattle and Oakland 😂.
@@billybob1620 They have been destroying Philadelphia.
Woke-ism is disgusting.
That's weird. It's in "Little Russia," not really a major crime area by far. I figured the "infamous" one on Market St would have more stealing.
It is little Russia I was surprised too!
@@LeoMetalTraveler that is what is so surprising about new SF crime wave. It's hitting places that really didn't see much action in the past. Now nothing is "untouchable" today
When shops leave downtown, the thugs go outside downtown for their desired items
Wait till the junkies have to move themselves because they have no more victims!! Businesses leaving have money to do so, junkies don’t.
Blocking the perpetrators face indicates he has more rights than the filmer or the business. What a disgrace.
Don’t blur the thieves faces
Will be a beautiful city again, once the population is down to around 20,000 in the metro area. Nature will take back empty buildings, and the sounds of the ocean will be so loud. A wonderful job is being done with complete vision for the future world.
The people who deserve to enjoy that future will be sacrificed for the ones who brought it about. That's the completion of the plan. You're not invited.

I was taking pictures of closed down theaters in SF about 5 years ago. I was told the Alexandria was going to be torn down and turned in Condos or Apartments. I guess that fell through. Maybe that developer was lucky.
My wife and i were both born in San Francisco in 1960. In 2006 we moved to Elk Grove so we could afford a home.
We never dreamed that.........
1. We would never be able to afford to move back.
2. Not even sure that we would want to move back if we could afford it.
It was such a great city for us. We both had good jobs. When we met, i was taking the N Judah to work and she was on the J Church.
She was in commercial real estate and i was in The Painters Union.
All those building i worked in are 50% empty now.....maybe more 😕😕
Your one of the few persons who understands the pharmacy syatem. Walgreens is going to transform into a superstore in medicine. The insurance companies are already doing it with pcp facilities
Liberals killed this city😢
The corporate businesses will be going away. Most just don’t know what’s really happening around them right now. It will be shocking to most what is going away for ever.
Here in Germany in the Frankfurt am Main -Metro-Area we got Tegut Teo-Markets. They got Zero working Staff (!!!) and are open 24/7! You go in... scan the Barcodes yourself and Pay with a Card - the Door is always open... I think... this unthinkable in the Bay Area. But i read so often in the Internet and the US-Media that Westerneurope/Germany is lost and has too much crime? I feel safe here in Frankfurt am Main/Germany.
Where will these crooks go next when every business is gone.
I am a 5th generation Bay Area’n, an now live on the east coast. I will never return.

Next video should be out in two days!
The gall of that gull !
The city doesn't collect sales tax on stolen merchandise, and the city doesn't collect property taxes on abandoned buildings.
Great point about the mutual financial benefit to the corporations, politicians, and criminals of allow this kind of culture to take hold in our cities. I'm glad there are other people out there smart enough to see what is really going on. They could stop all this in a single day if they wanted to.

It looks like they're crashing real estate prices then they'll buy up cheap then fix it, making huge profits.
Just remember Pelosi is moving to Florida. San Francisco was her district. That is everything you need to know.

Looks like South Africa
And why are the restaurants closed? What can you steal in a restaurant? A napkin or a plate?
Dine and dash.
@@90293Mike I wouldn't have thought of that. It seems that communism arrived in the US earlier than in China. Everything is free😃
Silverware, chinaware, chairs, tables, lamps, wine bottles, etc. If they can see it then they can steal it. If there is nothing for them to steal then they will vandalize to "express" their culture.
I moved to SF in '88 just in time for the big '89 earthquake and lived in a second floor apt at 12th and Geary for several years. I used to shop all those stores you're showing. That used to be a ROSS store above right of the Walgreens and below it was a big video rental store. That theater closed down over 20 years ago.
Thank you for sharing
If I were Walgreens I would close down that God Damn Store and give SF the finger on the way out.
Yup
Smart move for the people thats still in business out there, thats exactly what 1 store had to do where I came from. They had to make it where the customers wait at the door of the store, the employees would get what the customers wanted and before you received your bag of items or groceries you would have to pay, than they would give you your bag or groceries or items. It saved the business alot of money.
That’s how that pharmacy in this video it’s operating they have an electric gate that they only open when they have a confirmed customer ,they get their merchandise and leave, I think the owners are from russia and they know better
They are wise.
Lawlessness.
The graffiti is disgusting.
San Francisco is now the city of criminals. Show their faces. Public shaming is needed. If public shaming doesn't work then public canning would do some good. Cannot be too lenient with habitual shoplifters.
The Homeless got hungry.
Dem voters..................you voted for this, have fun.

That's my SF!
The landlords better do a better job of boarding up their properties if they don't want squatters who can very likely destroy the property by burning it down.See it all the time here in Los Angeles. Something sits vacant for too long and you're asking for trouble.
its not just the city. walgreens in general is just really attractive to shoplifters, largely due to a general policy of completely hands off, no matter what gets stolen. they'll always push the goalposts back on what constitutes sufficient shoplifting to prosecute.
Currently at $950 !
@@LeoMetalTraveler 1k threshold will turn into a 5k threshold. I know a few people who work at various walgreens - all basically say the same thing, their managers can't be bothered with any of the shrink. They just don't care. catch someone? not enough evidence. find more evidence? value too low. value gets higher? not high enough still.
I hope some really smart people can put a plan together to turn things around.❤

I didn’t realize the crime problem was that bad in the Richmond district.
Hopefully every business close sending a message to the city we are done with you allowing criminals to own the city.
