Yeah it feels like most iron warriors wouldn’t have changed much design wise from their heresy style armor. The obliterator unit might have some flexibility. Would be interested in y’all tackling some more specialty units sometime.

I always felt like the corruption on their armor should be minimal in the chaos version. No horns, spikes, chains, those iconic chaos terminator tusks have to go too. The only notable corrupted element should be the power pack, making it wing-like like for the rest of chaos chapters. The only exception are daemon engines they use.
Horus heresy was the best expansion for iron warrios

The fact that GW draws modern (40k) iron warriors are drawn to look like chaos marines does them a disservice.
I like the idea that amongst the traitor legions they are the only sane ones left who haven’t lost sight of their mission and are fighting for the original cause of all run by the strong championed by Horus ,so it makes no sense to give the iron warriors a chaos aesthetic when they they hate chaos and are the least corrupted traitor legion second only to the night lords
I agree with it doing them a disservice I think perhaps the reason it is done is just so hey these are obviously bad guys compared to the clean good guys thing for marketing reasons - Cal
That's one of main reasons why I like Iron Warriors. They are a great chaos faction if you don't want to play chaos. They don't have chaos lords, they aren't daemon summoners, they only use daemons in daemon engine capacity. Basically they are a bog standard space marine legion with some chaos additions. Visually I feel like they should have minimal corruption, except for the wing-like power pack, which I feel should be enough to distinguish them as the "bad guys." So yeah, it is one heck of a disservice.
