I’m not sure if they still do it, but Nordstrom‘s used to be a store where if you had feet that were different sizes you could still buy shoes. I knew someone who was in a terrible accident and broke many of the bones in their feet and when they healed from their accident, their shoe sizes were vastly different from 1 foot to the other and that’s where they went and purchased shoes.
May 4th, my brother and I start from Ostabat-Asta, on Le Puy, A little bit of the road less travelled. Just bought airline tickets this weekend. Can't wait.
Sooo great! You have to send us some pic of the Camino
Hi Ricky and Erica!
Thanks for another amazing video!
As my preparation for the Camino I am trying and testing all the gear I may use on my Journey. In my opinion, if something goes wrong, better to happen here close to my home than in the middle of the Camino.
I bought an Asics (100% Polyamide) Long sock, up to the knee, which some compression at the calf. I used it a couple of times and I got a kind of allergic reaction with lots of red spots on my legs, but at the end I noticed that these socks wear nicely in the morning but, during the walking path it starts to “move” and it rub my skin creating some burns by friction. I’ve tried another pair of sock, which has some cotton on its composition and it was Ok.
For now I am using a hiking boot from Decathlon NH 150. I changed the original insole by a Gel one, which is thicker and softer. Up to now it is working fine and is comfortable, no blisters or any other harm. I’ve walked around 200km with them.
For the Camino I am thinking about the Decathlon hiking boot MH500 MID with the same Gel Insole I am using now.
Happy days!
Big Hugs!
Testing all before is the only way to do it…. Thanks for the comment 😍
Hi I’m from Canada and have been watching the Camino videos for the past month. I’m really considering doing a Camino when I retire next year. Your videos are very informative, thank you. 🌸

Hi, from California. Starting in SJPDP late April
Tick tock….
Doing Camino in late September, my second my lady’s first. Lugo- Santiago USA enjoy watching and listening to you guys
Thanks a million!
Hiiii I'm watching from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 I love watching your videos, I'm starting my Camino at the end of May 2024 and I bought 3 pairs of shoes 2 Altras and 1 Merril and I'm not sure if I chose the right shoes maybe they should have been a larger 🥺😱😭
Wow, you are the first subscriber from Trinidad 🇹🇹 super!!! Altras are good, but it depends of your feet, try to walk some hills and see how they perform on the downhill… this week on Saturday we will have entire new vid about the shoes, it might be helpful:) hugs
I am from the country down under 🇦🇺 purchased Solomon Gortex hiking shoes for my first Camino, 1 size bigger was too big, they don’t have half size, 3 more Camino’s sent them home and purchased Merrill and started walking another 750ks great choice very comfortable…Solomon with Gortex was too hot, my foot had changed slightly having not walked during Covid. Teva sandals were a perfect fit with thick sole and tread…love watching you guys, so funny and informative. 💗🌸
Thank you Ruth! We love your vibe! When are you coming to Europe?
@@caminotellers first week in May to start walking Del Norte…exciting another adventure for some amazing scenery…
Have you guys heard of the Via Transylvania in Romania, only opened 4 years ago…it’s on my hiking trail list…do you think this is something you would consider..thanks 💗🌸
I wore my Hoka trail running hybrid shoes. They are light, bouncy and have great grip. They are hybrid for off and on road. They worked great for me. They also dry fast.
Thanks
I am from Florida and I am walking the Via Podiensis (from Le Puy-en-Velay, France) in stages. I am doing my 3rd section in May. I normally use barefoot shoes, but use trail runners on the Camino.
Hello Cindy! We also use any possibility to walk barefoot! Will you be finishing this year in SJPDP?
I'm doing my first baby Camino in May (portuguese from Valenca) and recent,y developed massive foot problems - tendonities along with Mortin's Neuroma from years ago. I've just bought insoles for my arches (very high arches!) and a new pair of asics in a size larger. Wondering if anyone has any other tips?
Sorry to hear that… let’s see if anyone has any experience ?
