  • Khwarizm was one of the most important regions in Central Asia with its commercial, political and cultural developments from the 7th century BC to the 19th century AD. Thanks to Khwarizm's strategic location on the Great Silk road from Iran to India, the kingdom actively participated in fostering relationships between different cultures and kingdoms. Therefore traders, craftsmen, scientists, and architects visited here as an important destination. The role of the Great Silk Road was not only a caravan trade route, but also played an important role in the development of Central Asian civilization.
One of the remains of Khwarizm are traces of the Kubrawiyah Order. The Mausoleums of Sayyid Alauddin and Pakhlavan Mahmud are in this city. The two mausoleums are the tombs of two important figures for Central Asian civilization. Sayyid Alauddin is one of the Sufi figures while Pahlavan Mahmud is a philosopher who is considered a hero of his time.
In addition to the two mausoleums, there are museums and madrassas that exhibit various forms of Khwarizm's heritage, from clothing, weapons of war, means of transportation to photographs of the Khans. Around the mausoleum and museum we can also find various craftsmen and artists who still preserve art that has existed for thousands of years.
