  • This is a review of the higly antecipated High Aspect Wings by Liftfoils. The changes these wings will introduce on eFoiling in particular and all foiling classes in general are MAJOR. Their efficiency translates to longer glides, massive increase in battery time (up to 2 hours now), easier pumping for the non-powered, and tighter turns.. this translates across the board.

    So at 76 kg I’m trying to decide between the 170HA/50 and the 200/34. It will be a combination of flat water and waves that are no more than waist to chest-high. If you had to choose one, which would it be? Is it worth it to get both? Also what are your views on the e1 30” mast versus the current 28” mast? I do a lot of wing foiling on a 5’ wing board with my Gong Veloce XL and still kite foil as well, and I always prefer using a mast in the 30-32” range when I can. I was told that Nick will make you a longer efoil mast if you request it, and I think I would prefer a 30” height (same as the e1 masts). Thanks for any advice!

    Very informative video! I'm ordering a 4'9" Lift 3 efoil. I'm already getting the HA200 and the 200 v2 surf wings. But which front wing would you recommend as a 3rd wing, the HA170 or the 150 Surf v2? Can't decide between the two for my last wing. Thanks for your help!

      Great choices.. how heavy are you?
      I’d go with the 170 HA, it’s a better wing than the 200. Are you going to surf it? Or just flat water?

      @@eFoilgc I weigh 73kgs/160 pounds. I will be doing both with it. Flat water 70%/30% riding waves. Thanks!

      That’s my weight, I ride mainly a 5’0..
      So, imho.. I’d ditch the 200 HA fir the 170HA, the 200 Surf is good. For the 3rd wing I’d go the GOAT - 120HA !!! It’s the bee’s knees mate, by far the best wing EVER 😃
      My 2 cents 🤷‍♂️😃

      Last question, which tail wings set ups are you using with the Efoil for the HA170 and HA120? Thanks!

    I recently purchased the 5' Lift with the 200 v2 surf. Do you think I'm screwed for surf fun maneuverability in waves with the 5'? Should I sell it and search for a 4'4"? I weigh 72 K, and I have 7 years foil experience kite foiling. Enjoying my 5' Lift in the 32" mast but I am concerned about swing weight in waves. Thank You

    • @eFoilgc
      @eFoilgc  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely not 😃 the 5’0 is still the board I use most of the time, specially for big stuff.
      I’d recommend later the 170/32 HA and Folding prop. My weight is the same and that’s my go to set up.
      On my latest video I used the 120/32 HA because I needed the extra speed.
      There’s nothing wrong with the 200 Surf V2 🤙

      @@eFoilgc Thank You so much for this response. I also have the folding prop, but I'm easing into that skill slowly. For weeks I've rode with the standard prop with no shroud. I need to gain the trigger off and trigger on skills

    Great video, I’m trying to decide between 250 surf vs 250 high aspect with 50 back for my Lift. I’m 110kg I’ve never foiled but I want to get something challenging that I’ll grow in to. The efficiency is a huge plus as I do want to max ride time but I’ve been told there’s pros to the surf with maneuverability. Looking at 5’ board. For lake use only, no waves unfortunately! What do you think?

      Hey Jeff,
      Great news about you getting a Lift, not a decision you’ll regret I’m sure.
      Wings... hmm 🤔 here’s my 2cents ..
      I found the High Aspect the best thing on the market, no doubt - but they’re high performance wings. VERY agile, all of them 😁 .. but also hard to handle, it’s an experienced riders game and possibly not great to learn on. More on that in a bit.. how tall are you? 110kgs is marginal on the 5’0, specially if you’re not going to face waves. Have you tried the 5’6?
      The 250 Surf - YES, I think it’s your wing. The 250 HA may be a bit much for a 5’0. I had an uncomfortable ride because there’s SO MUCH lift, but then again I’m a much lighter rider.
      So.. do you have access to demos?
      I’d say: yes to the 250 Surf, maybe the 250 HA. But you’ll get used to it and then it’s smooth sailing. So if you learn fast, go for it. Otherwise get the Surf and upgrade later.
      The board: try to demo the 5’6.. if you don’t face waves the 6” won’t matter, and you’ll have a much easier start.
      In saying that.. if you’re a gun at sports - the 5’0 is definitely the goal. If you just want to cruise, get the Cruiser LOL.
      Feel free to reach out with anything 👌.. welcome to the team 🤟

      Great thank you for the info! I’m 6’ and am aggressive with sports, skiing, tennis, etc. Plus my weight is not static and nothing like a Lift to be the incentive to lose 10kg 😅 I’ll get the 5’ and progress into it, I’m really afraid I’ll be more bored with 5’6 once I master it. Surf vs HA is such a tough decision, I really want the HA but perhaps it is better to learn on the surf first...

      Also for what it’s worth I’ve ridden SUPs for about 10 years so I have the balance on a board down, I take my 35kg dog on the SUP too so it is tricky when he moves around! I’m not worried about being frustrated on a HA with Lift as long as it’s manageable with my weight and height and won’t overpower me.

    winging - - ( looking at a lift 250 question - if it s the older model 250 not the hi aspect - )_ or is there an advantage to having the - ( hi aspect over surf250

    • @eFoilgc
      @eFoilgc  Před 3 lety +1

      Aaron Landau hi Aaron, the 250 is a power wing.. as in produces a lot of ‘lift’ 🤣🤣 and the 250 HA is even more powerful, much longer glides and manoeuvrability. Unless you’re over 85kgs the 250 HA will produce too much lift on an eFoil.
      What other considerations do you have, so I can help 👍
