Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful partner Mariana for eight years now.
Together Mariana and I, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!

Yeah, speaking from Canada and my own personal perspective, this is the sort of property I'm more interested. I think you should film more properties like this one. Something that is "move in ready" but with a nice size farm and especially the river. Magnificent!

To each their own. I say show what you want. There's something different for different people. But since you asked, I prefer the older and or lower priced properties. Aloha Jozef, the large building above the house is it closed or ? And the 2 houses on the other site of the road ( one ruin and the white one) are they included or also for sale ?

This is a beautiful farm, the land is so well cared for it will be easy for the new owners to get right to gardening and perhaps having a few chickens.
Sadly, I am a similar age to the owner, so it would be too much for me to manage, but this is a wonderful opportunity for a younger family who work from home - they would be able to maintain the farm and their careers, just move in and start their new lives!

That’s a beautiful property! I like seeing a mix of livable houses and ones that need work. Although the land and access to water would be super important. I do love this one though. I’ll have check the area on maps and see what’s around. Thank you both!
Hello Joseph. This is a very interesting property. I would as your time permits like to have a map of the land. The idea I get is that the land is across the road and extends to the river. You didn't mention if the furniture and or agriculture implements are included in the sale? Thank you as always.

I like seeing the ready to move in properties. My wife thinks we can fix something up, but I am not so sure, so I prefer to see ready to move in. Als9 might be a silly request from a nerdy techy, but if you could mention the available internet speeds that might be helpful, at least for me. Thanks!

Finished homes is nice, because you can still fix things, but it's not a ruin you have to do completely.

What a lovely property can all the land be fenced ,is the lake in part of the property , that a person can swim and fish if any ,is there any property rates and if yes can u see if possible check what is the anual payment and the place

The water is not a part of the property. Almost never that is the case. Unless you have a small lake (or pond) in the middle of your land, then it's yours of course.

I like all videos. Big houses, small houses, sheds, big farms, small farms, ruins, anything. Village houses, detached houses.
Only thing i'm not interested in is an apartment.
(i like all the fruit trees and hazelnut with this property by the way).
Ide like to see more like this, aswell as the ruins, but with various budgets price, that's agreat property and price, but for a 40 year old , so scaling down for a 55 year old, as the owners, who appear a lot older are doing

The river won't be yours. If that is what you mean. Normally it is the natural border of the land.
Not sure in this case if the land exactly borders the river. Anyhow it's a nice property.

It depends on the property. I live in this town now and I have a river property..
The property extends to half way across the river.
The water belongs to the state.
I'm not able to impede the flow...but that's a veerryyy flexible term. Obviously it just means don't stop the river flowing lol.
You can divert water away from the river and build little dams etc. It's not a problem if it allows the flow to continue.
Like you can use the river to make a pond etc, swimming hole, or water your land.
What's the big grand ruin type building set up above the property? At the end clip with the drone, it looked like a big hole behind it? Is it a mine?
The road would worry me.
There are enough properties in Portugal without a road at your front door. Or like living somewhere in nature without a real road. Only a dirt road, or worse a muddy dirt road.
It all has its pro's and its con's. Personally i prefer a real road, one like this. Like when you have to go somewhere.
Or for delivery , building supplies, equipment, any stuff you need. Also the oil for the heater is delivered. When you are somewhere up on a mountain, or in a forest, they won't bring it to your house.

Prefer cheaper homes in the country with more land.

The owner was graciously showing us his very well loved home, it is a truly beautiful property. I appreciated his description of the traditional tools and their uses.
Cheap property and ruins with land, especially mountain property but will watch whatever property you put on 😀
