Robben Island Tour | Cape Town Travel

Even though I have lived in Cape Town since 2003, I have never been to Robben Island until Kevin came to visit all the way from Belgium. We decided to go and this world heritage site and we are so happy we did.
Robben Island or Robbeneiland is an island in South Africa, located off Cape Town, 6.9 km west of the coast of Bloubergstrand. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999, Robben Island has been used as a prison, leper colony, psychiatric hospital and military defense post. It is also where freedom fighters such as were sent to exile during Apartheid.
