  • As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel this year's Shock Trauma Center Gala where we planned to come together to honor our trauma teams, Emergency Medical System partners and this year's incredible patient, Jarmar Thomas. We invite you to watch Jarmar’s remarkable story.

It can only be God! He gave the healthcare team the wisdom and persistence and definitely life to Jarmar. Thanks for the team work and the mother, that's what true love really means. Indescribable mother's love ❤🎉

Wow. That’s all I can say. If it’s not your time to go, you’re not going to go. If it IS your time to go! nothing can possibly prevent you from going. There was a woman (this is a true story and can be researched online to find her name and the rest of the information.) living in New York City years ago, who suffered from clinical depression and decided to end her life. She decided that she would commit suicide by leaping from the top of the Empire State Building! When she jumped, instead of falling to her death, the wind strength that high up was SOOOO tremendously strong and gusty that it BLEW HER BODY BACK INTO THE BUILDING THROUGH A WINDOW a couple of floors down from where she jumped, saving her life! She suffered injuries, but she WAS ALIVE because it wasn’t her time to die, and if it isn’t, YOU CANT FORCE IT TO HAPPEN! This man with the permanent smile, once he decided that he WANTED TO LIVE, and with the determination of the dozens of dedicated medical professionals, and with the daily devotion and unending support and love of his mother, fought on to regain as much as he possibly could of his will to live and find reasons, like his family, to keep struggling to get better! Blessings to EVERYONE who touched this amazing man’s life in any way and fought along with him to regain his health. This is an amazing story of miracles and medicine, along with love and strength of character of all those involved! (And I agree with that doctor who said that this young man’s mother should have received a medal to her devotion to her son!) 😊🙏🏼💕

My husband was the Paramedic on this call and he said that he remained in good spirits thinking about his kids.

Jamar, I just really don't know what to say, Except I'm glad you're alive and you pulled through, From what the doctor say the most horrendous surgeries they have ever done. It must have been very difficult for you, To see all the changes in your body after you woke up. I will not cry or Pout at my little difficulties anymore. If you can keep going, We All should keep going. Your mother must have been a powerful Spirit For you. You're lucky you have such a wonderful mother. My prayers are with you and your whole family.
