- Here is the first look at a brand new Massachusetts disc golf course coming soon, designed by none other than Simon and I! This project has been progressing since November andwe are so happy to start putting some tee pads and baskets out there!! Cant wait for everyone to come play!

In regards to "does disc golf have any architects?" You have to mention Dave McCormick, owner of Gateway. He's designed and installed 100+ courses all throughout the midwest including Eagle's Crossing. He's a true legend of the sport.

I'm less than an hour from East Brookfield, absolutely cannot wait for this to open up and have a new course designed by some of my favorite pros to play with the boys on the weekends!

This is one of the best videos I've seen on course design. Throwing shots to get a feel of a realistic layout is so smart.
I like your solo design for whatever hole that is, Casey. I like the multiple options off the tee pad minus the mando. Congrats on the design guys! Natural OB (jail) is always better than the other option, imo. You guys for drop zones or not? Good luck this year. Got you for a top 5 finish at Northwood next week Mr White. You killed that course last year.

This course and Maple Hill for a Worlds bid ?!?!
I said the same about Maple Hill and Meadowbrook. Meadowbrook would have to add some extended length championship holes. But this course could be designed with Worlds in mind. The problem with Maple Hill is not enough on site parking. But maybe something could be worked out with Marshall Street in exchange for a prime concessions locations. I don’t know if that makes economics sense or not. And if there can be enough parking at Pyraminds to make it worth while. I think a collaboration between all the courses would be great for Disc Golf.

Fantastic! We have a good number of courses in central Mass.. but for sure a few more are needed, especially challenges for intermediates such as the new West Boylston course. Sure it's not pro level, but challenges your every day average player. I can't wait to check it out, thanks guys!

Get yourself a trashcan lid and paint it like a bright color target. Lay it on the ground where you think the basket should be and then stand where you think the tea should be and do some drone flyover pics to see what it looks like. You can print those pics out, or use your computer and draw out the fairways in different angles.
Love the bruins hat. You guys rock! You should bring a super tall fan to come throw the course!!! As it stands I am super tall. And I’d be available to throw with you guys.

Looking awesome. I’m planning a course going on a huge property in Northern California. You will have to stop by on your way to Zephyr next season. Just starting to walk the property now. 150 acres. It’s beautiful! Kinda scary taking it on.

I agree with Simon. Its easy to design a course. But doing the design of one that fits the area, has the right difficulty etc, that is not as easy. It takes some tinkering for sure.
Man, you guys are so lucky. You get to develop your own course. I suspect though that when it is finished and playable, you will both say it is a course in progress. I don’t have to remind you to put a lot of thought into the tees, so I won’t. Cheers from🇨🇦

As a landscaper/disc golf course designer first and player secondly it would be quite nice if the top pros could just like play in the tournaments us regular humans don't have a chance at..

I have little doubt you and Simon are designing a great course. Knowing what you want is half the battle. You’ve both designed courses before. You both have good minds, passion for the best disc golf, and know how to work it out and change for the better.

Beautiful property. Trails? Armored greens? Armored and defined LZs? Terracing? Stonework? Wood chip management plan/ fairway protection/shaping? Tee area armoring, seating and landscape design? Introduction of ground covers or other plantings? Erosion control on slopes? Any plans? Welcome node with kiosk, practice area? Parking? Sounds like you're a LONG ways off from putting any baskets in the ground... What did you learn in the Houck Conference? Love you guys, but this just looks like "Tees & Sleeves" backyard design...

Congrats on your first course design. I can't wait to see it completed. I only designed ONE course in the mid-90s, but it is still ranked as the #3 course in California by UDisc and Disc Golf Scene. (Browns 'N Bows) I learned from a couple legends: Charlie Callahan and Leonard Muise.
It sounds like you are moving to permanent. Please put temporary baskets in with temporary tee pads and have people play through it. Do this for months and get feedback.

Love the enthusiasm of “designing a course”. How much building are y’all involved with?
Please don’t ever turn out in the future like some of the older pros, going around charging $50k for a design fee and not even trimming a tree or installing at sign.

Mcbeth needed a mutli millionaire MLB player investor to build his courses. Thankfully, this couple donated their land. Just buying property this size anywhere is so absurd price wise. Without land donation, it's damn near impossible.
