Hey you! When I rotated my green salad spinner, I had no trouble with the hand crank, I was able to even get to 200rpm, 400rpm, 600rpm, 800rpm, and even 1000rpm, within the cyan one, I was able to reach 1200rpm, so the green one has 4:1 gear ratio, and the cyan one has 5:1 gear ratio, so if the basket was rotating at approximately 1000rpm in the cyan one, I would turning the hand crank at approximately 200rpm, so in the green one, when I rotated it's hand crank at 200rpm, I would be getting 800rpm, and I was good at turning the handle without an issue, first, I putted down my hand knee on the table, second, I held it with my left hand laying on top of it, and finally I rotated the hand crank without making it go up from it's place, I think it's easy to do without making the hand crank go up.
I was being cautious because mine was filled with water and I didn't want it to get everywhere. I'm glad you were able to rev yours up to high RPMs.

You won't believe it but I got a bad stomach ache after this review and consumption of the salad. I called Grocery Outlet to let them know there is a possible contamination with that brand and date of salad mix. I'm fine now but I will try to cook my vegetables instead of eating raw. Yes, this salad and most are pre washed but I still would rinse them out. As it turns out, washing does not kill ecoli as they can hide deep in the crevice of the vegetables.
