Akpabio Says Senators Are Not Thieves, Ndume Escapes Suspension+Tinubu Has Failed, Says PDP|OjyOkpe

- Senator representing Borno south, Ali Ndume, on Wednesday narrowly escaped a process that could have led to his suspension from the senate.
Cyril Fasuyi, the senator representing Ekiti north, had raised a point of order, saying that Ndume breached his privilege when he alleged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is populated by kleptocrats.
Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, have expressed support for their counterpart in Rivers State, Sim Fubara.
The PDP Governor’s Forum voiced their solidarity for the Rivers state governor in a communiqué issued at the end of their meeting in Enugu.
The governors said ‘wider consultations’ with stakeholders should be deployed for a peaceful resolution to find a lasting solution to the political crisis in the state.
Meanwhile, supporters of the Rivers State Governor, led by former Niger delta Militant, Asari Dokubo, have released a new song, urging FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike to surrender.
The PDP governors came down hard on the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that he has not only failed to deliver good governance, but has also impoverished the people and worsened Nigeria’s economy.
The governors vowed to reclaim all leadership positions across Nigeria, including the presidency, to save the country from further drift into anarchy.
Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has debunked reports circulating on social media, claiming that his son, Umar Zulum has been arrested for alleged Murder of a Chinese national, in India.
In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, The misinformation was published on an online blog, Nairaland, titled Son of Borno State Governor Murders Someone In India.
The blog claimed that the Governor also travelled to India, attempting to use diplomatic status to resolve the matter.
The statement also clarified, that the Governor was not in india but was on a one-month vacation in Saudi Arabia; for the 2024 Hajj and later travelled to Egypt to attend the annual ASUWAN forum conference in Cairo.
The Governor also issued a warning to online bloggers that have spread the misinformation to pull it down, within the next 24 hours, and offer an unreserved apology or risk legal action.
According to the cable, The United Arab Emirates has denied claims that, it will costs a non-refundable N640,000 thousand Naira, excluding VAT for each application, Or that Nigerians are required to provide proof of a six-month bank statement with a minimum balance of $10,000.
Air Peace, Ibom Air, United Nigeria and other airlines in Nigeria have denied being blacklisted by international lessors as reported by BusinessDay on Wednesday.
BusinessDay had earlier reported that 13 domestic airlines were blacklisted by international lessors for their refusal to pay lessor fees, but the airlines said the blacklist was on Nigeria and not on the carriers.
