I think muslim or non muslim we should always strive to strengthen our knowledge and get a better understanding of the reality of life and how best to live it
Thank you for saying this as I find a reverse dislike of my spirituality from my man's friend's that are women because I wanted to be halal with my love. They laughed at me. I study Islam because I love my man, and I will convert to it, if we marry. Muslims must learn to welcome others who are from other religious backgrounds. I was raised a Christian. I never heard of Islam until 2004 from the internet. There is only 1% Muslims in USA. Allah will not send me to hell from not knowing, but will he send another who is Muslim all their life for being cruel to an ignorant person as I? I wonder. I beg Muslims to be kind to those who want to learn. Those who only know English. Those who find Islam strict, but want to be a good wife. A husband is a leader. If my man's love sends me to a new way to love God and others, it should be celebrated, not condemned. Please do not laugh at those who thirst for knowledge. I be of you to be kind and have patience with us.
@@candacesturtevant7139 as long as you realize that Islam is the truth and you are converting for the sake of Allah, there is nothing wrong sister. Intentions matter, so don't convert if it's only for the sake of marriage, convert because you are really convinced in Allah and his message and that in turn your marriage to your muslim man is a blessing of Allah.

Salam, this series has been beneficial. Let's also realize that Islam traditionally has had schools of thoughts. The Shaykh is maliki. Also some of the ahadith whether critical to ur understanding or just complimentary need to be authenticated. So for the student of knowledge take what you've learnt and keep going. For me i've benefited mostly from his pedagogy.. Really exceptional!

When Hamza Yusuf said that body parts does not want to get punished on the day of judgement the two women began to scratch their body the former her hand and the later her neck...are they afraid of something Allah knows the best we cannot judge somebody inwardly as Humza Yusuf said.

I am a follower of Sri Yukteswar through Yogananda. He says that the Vedic life is divided into four states of interaction with the world:
From birth to 20 years, you are a child.
From 20 to 40, you are a householder.
From 40 to 60, you spend this time learning the Ways.
From 60 to death, you spend this time teaching the Ways.
Keep your heart in remembrance of God (dhikr) through your whole life and you will not fail in reaching the Goal.

This is between the person and the creator. No one can give a clear judgment because no one knows what is truly in the heart except the one who created them.
What does he mean with soul? Ruh or nafs?
I still don't know the equivalence of the word ruh : it can be soul, spirit, consciousness. It is from other realm. It is what makes u, you. Not the body, the materialistic body.
Nafs is desire. The Self.
According Al-Ghazali. There are 4 types of nafs. 1) that the lowest level that behaves like a pig. Always want to consume, always want want want
and the upper one that behaves like a dog, rage, wrath, like a mad dog if unleashed but can be your friend if nurtured properly
and the next level is aql. or intellect. this nafs, desire to know what is right or wrong based on common sense. But it can be risky if you depend on this alone
the highest nafs is hikmah. means you can decide when to use your pig nafs, your dog nafs (you can be angry if you see injustice) and the intellect.
this highest nafs also related to the ruh, the spiritual realm. It's the connection betwern the ruh and the Self or if you may say in Freudian word an Ego.
i can be wrong in my articulation. I am still learning. I hope this help.

What Hamza is talking about here is already known in the Hindu Vedic religions incl Buddhism - hence meditation is practiced which these days is not clearly understood by muslims and christians and thats why they have less peace and view other religions with suspicion and threat.
