In other words, voice actors are old! They got much older than over 20 years ago! They are in like 50s to 80s years old. When you got older, your voice got older, dull, dry out and changed a lot. It’s hard to be accurated exactly if try to voice the same like over 20 years.
It also depends on the characters. It’s far less noticeable with Pinky and the Brain, given that they were always adults while the Warners are portrayed as children.
Either they spliced in the original archive audio of "and the Warner Sister Dot", or Tress MacNeille is one hell of a voice actress and absolutely NAILED that line with a perfect recreation of the exact same way she sang it 27 years ago. I honestly can't quite tell which.
You can tell that Dot's voice actress has a slightly thicker accent when she pronounces her T's and A's and whenever she says "caught" and she enunciates them more which I think sounds even better.
the first time i heard a remake was coming i was sad. I thought another great show from my childhood was going to get a bad remake that would hurt to watch, so i didn't look at it when it came out. My family pressured me into it because it was good- really good. They loved it as much as they did the original so this got me curious, and when the intro song started playing I started crying. I didn't know how much this show meant to me until then, or that I'd missed it that much.

This reminds me of stuff we would do in chorus class. The song starts the same, but then half of the class sings one version of the lyrics, and the other side sings another version, but they are are both to the same tune.
the amount of loyalty theyre keeping to the original while also showing how theyve changed....every single reboot out there should take note of how animaniacs is doing it. THIS is what everyone wants from a reboot: loyalty to the original, many of the same staff, not butchering the art style while also staying modern..... i'm so thrilled with this reboot.

I'll take the 93 version over the 2020 any day for a few reasons: no vocal editing, more relaxed diction, and far better instrumentalists. This is also a good way of showing how music, musicianship, and music production has changed over the past (almost) 30 years. Still, the 2020 version is very good in its own right, and I am exceedingly happy that this brilliant show got a reboot! This show has been has been making me laugh, raising my awareness of politics, and has kept me a fan of WB since I was in grade school. Fantastic cast, hilarious and topical writing, solid and consistent animation, and an excellent theme song.❤️Animaniacs 4 Ever!❤️
I like the 2020 intro more! The clearer vocals(+louder baritone/wakko, im not sure who actually sings the lowest), clearer horn section and, basically, production wise, I like it better(Don't get me wrong, I love vintage Lo-Fi recordings(check out Green Onions by Booker T. And The MGs, which is the house band for the influential Stax Records, or old Jazz recordings). But they're still both so good! Also the theme has a lot of key changes(4 key changes from Ab, to G, to Eb, back to G, and to Bb, changing every chorus). it's one of my favorite intros for any show ever(And I never really watched it, I just love the theme so much)! Witty lyrics(the first one saying the writing is bad, and the new one saying they're sellouts), great composition, it's a great theme!

This is just me coming off of the final episode of Supernatural. And this is just a great 180% turn for me. From being sad with the Winchesters to being happy with these guys.

I still like the old theme better. It’s cuter and more nostalgic, and they basically omitted Rita, Slappy, Buttons & Mindy and the others from the theme in the new one
It's kind of interesting, at scenes like @1:37 where he is laughing about the yak and goes back in his chair, the older version actually has a LOT more life to it. In the new one, there are actually many frames at the end of the scene where he is frozen, and the hand drawn one is still bobbing around. Would have taken so much more work too.

It sounds like the new theme lowered the volume of the ascending and descending riffs and made the bouncy base louder. Not a bad thing; the new one sounds more mischievous whereas the original had a chaotic feel to it since the riffs made the music feel all over the place. I love them both.
They need to do the Yakkos world song, *REANIMATED* With all the new country’s since the OG one is outdated to 1994 which is old, And the up to date one will help me with social studies/history
If there's one nitpick I have about the new version, I'm not so keen on the flat art-style with no shading, but like I said that's a very very very minor nitpick.
At 1:05, when the three lean down onto the logo in the 2020 version, you can see their ears bounce, which I never noticed, but it's a really cool little detail! You can see it better at 4:30

I mean, the changes they have is because of the lose of other side characters, so they had to fill out space. Not to mention that they just came back from the dead, so they have to include that.

@@ianedwards1660 I'm a younger audience member (I'm 12), but I grew up (and am still growing up) with the original. My father introduced me to the series, and we owned DVDs of Pinky and The Brain (along with Ren and Stimpy, but that's its own can of worms). It was one of my favorite cartoons, and still is. The reboot is very modern, but I'll probably always prefer the original, despite not getting some of the jokes.
The right side definitely has more of the sound and more or the vibrant voices, and the animation is much smoother And bouncier. More of a cartoon-ish animation style. The left one gives me nostalgia, and it reminds me of Bugs Bunny’s animation style. I really love both of them equally, no matter what they add (but I might not like it if theres any… eh.. “things” in it), and I love them.
Probably just because it’s getting introduced to a new and younger audience. The reboot also has less episodes to re develop those characters to a new generation of animaniacs viewers.
the new 2020 version with the "Gender neutral" and "open to any bathroom" is the reason most 90's fans did not return to watch the new series. This is a kids cartoon and dangerous stuff like that is not acceptable

I have literally one complaint about the new opening. The marching scene right before the comment about their new contracts is really flat and boring compared to the original. Other than that though, you can tell that they wanted to capture the feel of the old show while bringing it up to date with today, and it really works.

To anyone complaining about new lyrics...it's about them finally returning in the WILD year of 2020 after so much has changed. "Gender balanced, pronoun neutral and ethnically diverse". Animaniacs have always reflected the times. Why not update. It's the same song with some tweaks. Yes, Dot is more than just "cute". Start working on a time machine if yins are that stuck in the past. If you do,tell me. I want to go kick a certain German facist in the sack before he peels his own cap back.
They do have fewer shadows than the original, but they also are higher quality drawings, which is what makes the difference more noticeable. Kind of like putting a 360p video next to a 1080p video.
There's not a lot of shading. Most modern cartoons' art styles are usually very clean cut, with small outlines and minimal shading, while older cartoons typically had larger outlines and significant shading. It still looks great, it just doesn't have the exact same nostalgic feel in the animation.

I noticed that too, but for 22 years I expected that. It's very slim, even when they talk. You can hear it but it's not by much. Shows their talent

It's kind of interesting, at scenes like @1:37 where he is laughing about the yak and goes back in his chair, the older version actually has a LOT more life to it. In the new one, there are actually many frames at the end of the scene where he is frozen, and the hand drawn one is still bobbing around. Would have taken so much more work too.

It sounds like the new theme lowered the volume of the ascending and descending riffs and made the bouncy base louder.
Not a bad thing; the new one sounds more mischievous whereas the original had a chaotic feel to it since the riffs made the music feel all over the place. I love them both.

I mean, the changes they have is because of the lose of other side characters, so they had to fill out space. Not to mention that they just came back from the dead, so they have to include that.

My father introduced me to the series, and we owned DVDs of Pinky and The Brain (along with Ren and Stimpy, but that's its own can of worms). It was one of my favorite cartoons, and still is. The reboot is very modern, but I'll probably always prefer the original, despite not getting some of the jokes.

The right side definitely has more of the sound and more or the vibrant voices, and the animation is much smoother And bouncier. More of a cartoon-ish animation style. The left one gives me nostalgia, and it reminds me of Bugs Bunny’s animation style. I really love both of them equally, no matter what they add (but I might not like it if theres any… eh.. “things” in it), and I love them.

I have literally one complaint about the new opening. The marching scene right before the comment about their new contracts is really flat and boring compared to the original. Other than that though, you can tell that they wanted to capture the feel of the old show while bringing it up to date with today, and it really works.

I just found out why the warners look so flat against the backgrounds in the new version. They don't have a shadow...
They do have fewer shadows than the original, but they also are higher quality drawings, which is what makes the difference more noticeable. Kind of like putting a 360p video next to a 1080p video.
There's not a lot of shading. Most modern cartoons' art styles are usually very clean cut, with small outlines and minimal shading, while older cartoons typically had larger outlines and significant shading. It still looks great, it just doesn't have the exact same nostalgic feel in the animation.
