- Today I am sharing 6 choices we made during our build which we would change if we could do it all again! You learn so much every time you undergo a project and these 'regrets' aren't big enough for us to change immediately or at all, but we MIGHT consider changing them in the future!

In the U.S. they sell individual sprayer nozzles/hoses that are installed beside the main tap. A plumber could hook the sprayer up to your existing plumbing under your sink so that you could use it to spray all around your sink. Keep your main faucet, .... just add the sprayer! In the laundry room get the kind of hook that you can find on hotel room doors. They look like a squashed long u-shape and allow the door to open to see out, but keep the door locked at the same time. Most of them seem to be made of brass and attach to the door frame. Instead of a chair, table and plant in your bedroom window space, put in a deep window seat with storage beneath it. A nice, soft and deep cushion and a small tea table would allow two people to sit there with their tea or coffee, plus you would gain valuable storage space. See if a narrow glass transom will fit OVER your front door.....which would allow light, but still maintain your privacy.
I think a front door with squares of frosted glass would brighten up the area! I love doors like that! I love your home tours! Thanks for sharing. x

Hi kerry.your spice cupboard you could have a half shutter so you can just pull down or up.your front door looks a good safety door.. a sky light would be a good idea.you have a beautiful home xx👍💕🌞🐕

Hi Kerry, I have the problem you have with the cooker being in the way of the handle of the cupboard. It’s not the greatest but you can get these tiny clear rubber stickers that you put on one of the handles and it stops it from banging and damaging. I know it’s not ideal but it’s pretty discreet and hard to notice and makes a big difference. Try it and see if it helps, if it doesn’t you can just take it off x
With an incredible view like that, I would've wanted the entire wall to be a window LOL. My in-laws live near the ocean, and can see it from kind of far off like you. When they did their remodel, they added a rooftop deck, with an outdoor table and chairs. There's a spiral staircase leading to it. They frequently go up there to have some coffee or wine and enjoy the view. I don't know the exterior structure of your house/roof, but that would be an amazing thing to add if it's possible.

Yes absolutely and I use the word ‘regrets’ quite harshly as to be honest.. these are just minor things which I’m being picky about! Hehe I really do love our home so so much :) xxx
Maybe put a screen door in the utility room. That way you can open up the main door and let some fresh air in throughout the day. Many homes in the US have screen doors attached to the door frame. I actually have a screen curtain with magnetic edges so they close by themselves.
You can get a small additional tap, they called “handspray pullout”. I think they might do them in black too so it can match your quooker tap xx
Oohh I am going to look for that.. I wonder how easy they are to install after the worktop has gone in? 🤔 xxx
@@KerryWhelpdale someone will be able to drill a hole for you through the worktop. We’ve done it a few years ago for our water filter tap and it was fine 😊
Hi, have you considered a stable door for the utility room? Available in double glazed options, you would get great ventilation when drying sheets in winter months and condensation from items drying on the wall rack would also be reduced..
You can get a small strap for your cupboard door in the kitchen which only allows you to open so wide to stop the door hitting your oven. By your bedroom window a comfy window seat would look lovey, you could make it so you can lift up the seat for extra storage. What if you varnished over your hand painted units would this prevent chipping? You have a beautiful home x

Qooker do a flex tap now with a pull out end. I’m sure howdens do a in frame kitchen that’s not painted. (Can you tell we’ve just redone our kitchen 😂) xx

You can add a separate sprayer head to either side of tap
I think you buy attachments that can go on the end of the tap to help with your issuer
Tap/Sink resolution 🤞we are having this discussion at the moment, my husband wants another Quooker tap I want a sprayer so the alternatives are; Kitchen sink pull out sprayer head, so many to choose from, easy to install, can be added to your current set up or alternatively take a look at the Fohen flex everything in one and looks great 😍
Someone commented the other day saying that Quooker do pull out spray taps too :) I didn't know that so don't know if its a new thing they do now? :) xxx

Pop another mirror the opposite side to the mirror in the hall. That will give you more light. X.
If you get a balloon cut a hole or you could get a pin/needle and make multiple holes (on the bottom part). Put the balloon over the top of the tap turn the water on and you can move the balloon to make it go around the whole sink.
Can you move the spice racks to the other cupboard ?
You can buy a sprayer attachment for your tap for a couple of £ on ebay 🙂 x
You might be able to get a sun tunnel in your hall. ☀️
Yes that’s what we are thinking of doing.. much less invasive option :) xxx
I've got the same pantry cupboard with door spice racks. It has 170 degree opening hinges for easy access. That set up would send me mad.
Honestly, I'd ask your kitchen fitter if he can swap the internals of the 2 tall cupboards, and have the pantry to the right of your fridge.
What is your ceiling ht?
You could put spices in the drawer instead of having the racks.
Oh that’s actually a really good idea.. I used to have a spice drawer in our old house and it worked really well :) xxx
was going to say the same thing - I have an 'invisible' drawer in my Ikea base units and they do really good inserts for spices so that's where mine are.
Were do you guys keep shoes and coats in your house?
We have a shoe cupboard under our stairs and then we also have a coat cupboard for big winter coats but during winter we do keep 1 each at the front door too :) xxx

😱😱 really.. I didn’t see that when we got ours.. but I also now feel I can’t justify buying a new one as they are quite pricey! 😬😬
@@KerryWhelpdale they're soooo pricey! We got a Reginox one 2 years ago off amazon - just as good imho and a fraction of the price.
I was wondering about the Command hooks for a mop, are they good?

I absolutely loved your fireplace and new kitchen especially your oven and bigger sink. Oh I know what you mean by change the tap to a kitchen tap with a hose attachment on it. To make it easier to clean all round the walls of your sink. I have same issue with my sink the tap that I have is really good because I can move around to both of my sinks because my sink has a split in middle of it. But unfortunately I don’t have the hose on my kitchen tap so it make it harder for me to clean all round the walls of my sink as well. Hopefully I have a bigger enough sink and tap with a hose attachment on it to clean my sink probably soon. I love the bigger sinks because you can get these dish drying ranks from amazon with a cutlery pot too. It’s really lovely! If you had doors in bedroom, you'd have the same problem as the utility room - not being able to have them open a crack.

@@KerryWhelpdale get a ceiling pulley - even better as higher up and holds more. The warmest air is always up at the ceiling!
