Hey Clay, What bait did you use and what rigging were you guys using as well? I always us triple barrel weight, red bebe, with a 12' wire leader with salted sardines on a 4 barbed hook. I always catch sting rays though in del mar and have never snagged a shovel nose or perch.

Hi Kyle, we use a 2-3 ounce pyramid weight at the end of our line with 2-3 hooks running up the line about 6-8 inches appart and about 4 inches of leader off each of those. We use pretty small hooks as well and squid as the bait. It doesn't take very much squid to get them going either. Just cast out and let it sit for a little and they will come.
