"My names Blus. I like airplanes and weight lifting."
He has become Blus, destroyer of worlds.
Would the other pair be Barvin, or Gavbra?
Dune talks really starts around 50:00 you're welcome.
Mvp
MVP
Literally thank you
Can’t wait for Gus to complain about pumpkin flavoring a few weeks after saying he loves it like that one time
Gus gotta watch the the movie again. Because I didn't know anything prior about Dune and was able to follow.
I'm with you, I've never read the book, never seen the previous movie or miniseries. I was able to follow along just fine. Even with subjects that weren't directly explained, I felt like I was able draw inferences based on what was shown
Same its actually VERY easy to follow (never read the books)
Same, honestly tho if you watch it on HBO max with subtitles it’s a little easier for me to follow because you can read the names of the all the different houses and places so it helps me follow it personally
I thought so too, but I had seen the 1984 version... so, I'm glad there are people who had no previous exposure found no problem following it.
I went into it knowing nothing about Dune but I was able to infer every single thing Gus complained about from context clues in the movie.
Oh boy, I love it when they eat food for a podcast. Great idea Eric
Gus in his "hat" and scarf looks like that one uncle that gets a little to drunk at the family Christmas party
The cheese master?
Absolutely fascinating to me that ordering through an app in a restaurant is a novel idea in the US. In the UK Wetherspoons have been doing it for 5+ years and during the pandemic nearly every place I went to had QR codes or some sort of app. Lots of places, especially food halls have kept it too.
Thought the same thing!
i was going to say exactly the same thing almost all pubs in my area have it the ones that don't are small enough where it doesn't matter
Absolutely fascinating how you think barbaras experience represents the entire US.
So what I think it’s interesting, but not so much related, America has all these apps and such for ordering food and whatever. In Brazil, you just get the business’ WhatsApp number and text them your order. Either for pickup or delivery. That way they cut the whole “building an app” thing and every little business can take part in it.
It’s not a novel idea in the US just to them, I live in Florida and that’s a very common thing for the last 5 years plus
Gus' criticism of Dune is basically just describing what a film is
Going from podcasts from 5+ years ago to this one, the cameras are so zoomed out it’s hard to see them on the wide🤔
The Green Knight was a total, surreal trip. It was exactly what I was hoping for lol.
"What year did you cry?" 1997-present 😂😂
I dont get gus's point. avatar the last airbender is a full series?? its not even the same as a movie. sadly theres no avatar movie though, would love one.
there is one but its god awful so the animation is the best you'll get
@@ixkazexi6988 no there isn’t.
@@afroninja2435 avatar the last Airbender in Netflix, watch at your own pain it's the worst movie I've seen
@@ixkazexi6988 they are trying to make a joke about ignoring and forgetting the cinematic trainwreck that was Shyamalan’s take.
@@mazman117 I mean I got that the first time but we can't forget it, it's too awful we can't have a repeat
30:00 is when the eating stops.
It really made sense to wait on part two, given that about 2 years pass between the 2 halves of the book. This way some of the characters will age appropriately
oh and the green knight was some avant garde B S!
Eric is enjoying making Face Jam too much 😂
Garfield and Griff are pretty much the same person 😂
Agree with Barbara, but I also include spoilers as something that will not ruin things for me. Knowing what happens won't take away my enjoyment of a good book, TV show, or movie.
Also, I'm currently in the process of listening to the Dune audio book for the first time. I like it. It's good.
Barbara actually semi-spoiled Arrival for me on the podcast where they talked about it (ironic because it's another Villeneuve movie). I actually think it made it better, because once I saw where it was going, the emotions of the characters hit me so freaking hard, I was in tears.
Gus: "It's like Among Us"
Gav: Silly hat intensifies
Gus: "I must know everything about this Universe before I can enjoy it!"
"names blus" no its GAINS
Dune was so good, super easy to understand.
I wonder what Bernie is doing
Gavin missed such a big chance at the beginning to say:
"Hi, I'm Gavara!"
Blevin
gen 3 night vision goggles are going to run you at least $1.2k
What is Gus talking about? Dune is pretty easy to understand and follow .... Lmao
Because Gus is an ignorant child!
I'm going to have to leave before the end, because for some reason, DUNE won't be in Austalian cinemas until 2021-12-2.
ah yes, justified piracy
All of Top Gun Maverick is filmed in IMAX. I can't wait.
2:32 A proper cornucopia is a goat's horn with fruit, vegetables, corn etc. So an empty cornucopia is just a horn.
Why is Gus the only one who looks happy to be on the podcast?
Been a while
RIP Rooster Teeth of old is no more 🥲
Am I the only one that caught that nsync reference from Gus? "It's gonna be may", that was a brilliant joke
that happened with me, the day i left the office cause of covid i thought id be coming back the next day or at some point so i left a few stuff on the desk xD
There is a definite exception to Gus's "If it's seasonal, it's shit" rule. Mountain Dew Baja Blast. That shit is the absolute best ever, but you can only buy it in stores in the summer. Any other time of the year, Taco Bell only
19:46 had me laughing :D
Gus not liking Dune was the biggest surprise of the year
I really liked the Green Knight but I feel like you need have a bit of background context about the original story to get what it's trying to do. It's definitely not just a straightforward retelling of the story. The podcast We're Not So Different did a great episode about how the movie deconstructs the story and gets into Medieval symbolism and philosophy.
But if you're looking for a regular fantasy/action movie...you will probably be dissapointed. Also it's absolutely beautiful so at least you can be visually dazzled in your confusion.
Gus they explain everything in the movie, try actually listening next time you watch it
Gus' critique of Dune is legitimately just him angry at the movie for not spelling out everything for him, if it was the other way, I guarantee he'd be complaining about that. For him to sit there and yell about things not explained but in turn not making any effort to find answers to said questions from the source material like gtfo. I agree, the film doesn't answer everything, but it being made with the intent of making another (script outline for Part Two was done months ago, if not longer) is why it's made the way it was. He's entitled to his opinion, but for someone of his stature to just sit there arms crossed yelling. Come on. Extrapolate, and patience.
You shouldn’t need to “find answers to said questions from the source material”. If you NEED the original why even bother adapting it. This is elitism over a posteriori knowledge.
@@collinsutherland311 He hasn't "adapted it". He's "adapted HALF of it." If you're expecting the answers to all your questions halfway through a piece of fiction, you're doing it wrong lol. I said to go to the source because there are your answers right there, you don't have to wait for the NEXT PART to give them to you.
I love pumpkin and mochi
34:53 Blane describes the movie Children of Men
Gavin is a content genius!
I want a grif hat, went to the store thinking it was a actual product and was was sadly mistaken :-:
I think they are fan creations.
Lol what noise was Barbara doing during her intro
24:40 literally knocked gab dumb hopefully this helps him upgrade his pallet to 100% cocoa
8:40 PUMPKINS IS FOOD!! PEEL THE OUT SIDE. use a potato peeler. Clean the inside. Cut it into tiny bits. Fill a bowl of your choosing fill half way with pumpkin little bit of milk+water+butter+ salt+ sugar. Wrap it in plastic. Microwave for about 5 min. MUSH MUSH MUSH. season with your fav spices i like cinnamon and nutmeg
Why do they change the name of the podcasts
If you read the book, Dune was great
@@mercer5888 No I’ve heard from people who don’t know anything that it was great, but if you read the book it’s probably the closest to a perfect adaptation that any movie could be
I didn’t read the book and I loved it.
I went into the movie knowing that I'd probably read the book eventually, loved the movie, and promptly started reading it
Ayyyyeee!! Can’t miss a single RT podcast!!
Edit: Dune part 1 was great excited for the sequel. Remember people Fear is the mind killer.
I don’t like pumpkin. But I do love that pumpkin spice glad spray. Only because it’s the only spray that had a smell to me that smells like a candle Vs chemicals. But other people say they smell chemicals or just don’t like holiday smells so scent is defiantly subjective. Though post COVID symptoms have altered my sense of smell so I don’t know if I still like it or not.
I like how there are people saying venom sucked but then there is this huge group (like me) where we love the campyness of it and are in LOVE with these movies lol
I normally don't agree when there's dead set, no room for change opinions, but I agree with Gus on Dune.
Dune was a movie made to have a massive and expensive director's cut set.
Great 20 minutes of just eating
They should've called this episode "Pumpkin Spice Melange".
I wonder if rt is aware of the snail madness they started on tik tok
very aware- it’s all over their twitters :D
I've read the book and watched the movie. I'm with Gus. The movie does a really poor job of explaining Dune but to be fair, there's just too much to explain within 2-3 hours. Dune should be a tv series, not movies.
We know who to Blaine for any trouble in the podcast! One of the Twitch streamers i watch LOVES the tomato chips!
28:00 Barbara literally described every pub in London. Is that not common? I thought this was a normal thing everywhere.
They stop eating at around the 29min mark for anyone wondering 👍
all dressed chips are hard to find? they sell them at smiths (kroger) here in las vegas. best chips ever! waiting/hoping for the ketchup chips to come eventually.
That law about 3rd Gen Night vision is called ITAR. It’s to keep military secrets and tech to the US only and not to other non friendly countries.
But Gavin could wear 2nd Gen NV, that’s like 80’s tech.
Anytime someone mentions the golden disc I immediately think of Beast Wars
Y’all should watch the Sean Connery version of the Green Knight. It is…remarkable.
Not gonna lie this pumpkin bit seemed a little forced.
Yes but at the same time Literally no one tried
this is going to be a good one
It's almost like the mics are on arms and could be moved away while chewing.
the reason you couldn't get corona was because the factory was shut down by corona.
Blaine, Father Asimov would like to have a word with you
The whole qr code on the table order in the app bring it to the table etc is standard practice for more than 50% of the places in the uk now. It’s great.
Pumpkin is a lie it’s all nutmeg and cinnamon
Sorry Blaine, Dune didn't create Sci-fi. Issac Asimov started writing in the 40's and Edgar Rice Burroughs first published A Princess of Mars in 1912.
Barbara (I'm here too): I like cold cuts.
Did the name of this podcast change?? I'm so confused
Heros and Masked bandits podcast!
38:00 thanks Gus
BLUS LMAO!
Do an RT life on the abandoned rooster teeth offices.
Have they talked about the snail thing getting big on tiktok?
how many spoilers for Dune in this? thanks to Auckland being locked down the release has been pushed back to December in NZ. Sure Ive red the book and watched the original but I dont like going into to movies with an opinion on it.
Where Is season 2 of nomad of nowhere? it's been too long!!
if you hated Dune, you went in wanting to hate it
I'm 100% with Gus about Dune. It's not a great movie.
Blaine looks like a jacked version of h3h3 with that beanie
"how much do you think audio listeners are gonna love this episode?"
well, enough to switch from the podcast app to youtube in order to know what's going on LOL
Really isn’t hard to understand Tom Hardy in Venom. Clean your ears out.
Lmao Blane is right and his is wrong, he just totally didn’t get DUNE. It’s greatly explained and yes you need part two for the full effect, but this is a masterpiece of a film
HERO BARB BUSTING OUT THE ALL DRESSED !!! A powerful and respectful representative of the north thanks Barbara!
Did rt forget its Halloween?
Ski mask The Slump Barb
I love it so much that you guys wear your masks and got your vaccines and that you are so much better people than others. It’s a really good thing to always feel a lot better than other people and looking down on them because they don’t live according to your high standards. Also thanks for spreading information about a medicine which i’m sure you did a lot of research on. People need to hear your knowledge! And hopefully in some time, every person on this world will start living exactly like you
I'm glad I'm not the only one disappointed by dune
Love RT, love Barb, she's funny, she's great BUT at 29:03 she's lookin to catch hands 🙌 💪 The Double Smoked Bacon and Cheddar at Starbucks is legitness, I get it almost every time im there and when I dont, it's usually cuz theyre out👌(the seriousness of my statement is a joke, btw, though I do love me some DSB&C)
Gus I agree about Dune… the thing is the first part of the book is exactly the same. Just 150 pages of new vocabulary and new people. But it gets amazing
1984 Dune was dogshit but it didn't ruin the book for me. I will say it's hard to see a bad adaptation because I know it'll be a bit before there's another try.
didn't sign up for this asmrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Barb with a new arm tat?
Twinkies are horrible.
Rooster teeth is a podcast channel and I just- *sigh*
for the love of god no more eating on mic
Dune *made* sci fi? Bro, you realize Asimov had been writing for decades and was a rock star at the time, and Heinlein had many acclaimed novels, prior to Dune.
