When the first stranger got killed off...THAT stunned me a lot and made the film unpredictable as to who was getting out alive. And that really hooked me =)
So The Strangers was released in 2008, but took place during 2005. Prey at Night released in 2018, but takes place 10 years after the first movie in 2015. Fun fact: The "true events" that these movies are based on were a string of robberies happening in the director's neighborhood when he was a kid. One of the robbers had knocked on his door, and asked if someone was home. This was there way of making sure no one was at the houses they wanted to rob. The other incident that gave inspiration for these movies was the Manson Family murders, specifically Sharon Tate's murder. Some fans also point out how similar it is to the Keddie Cabin murders, but this hasnt been confirmd as an inspiration. Edit: I also noticed that the first movie had some flares of the 70s to it, at least especially the house.. so 10 years later, with aesthetics, it kinda makes sense there's a lot of 80s in this movie

Later on, he discovered that the person knocking was responsible for multiple home invasions in the neighbourhood.

I love the reaction videos when it’s first time watches for both of you. This one was fun as hell to watch your reactions to. I unapologetically love this one and favor it over the first film because it’s just a fun slasher that makes you cheer when the Strangers finally get what’s coming to them. But I do agree the first film is the more effective one scare wise.
I love how different this one is to the first one. If you want a more intense experience watch the original and if you want a fun time watch this one also love the soundtrack and the fact that Sackhead has the same music taste as me cracks me up 😂

I will watch anything Bill and Lewis Pullman are in, I think they are amazing. Lewis had me crying the first time I saw him, in Bad Times at the El Royale.
They can be anywhere anytime. Are they human? Are they supernatural. Wish they do another. I don't care if they reveal everything. They'd still be cool with or without the mystic lol. What's their backstory plus could set up more saying they ain't the only stranger's. There could be other strangers out there. Maybe not same masks lol. Maybe those guys from you're next is connected to this. Like they have a serial killer community and those guys were hired to kill that family lol. There is no tamara most likely lol.
Dang loved that final girl lol that actress awesome lol love this one more than original awesome soundtrack lol love the ghost rider truck at end lol and the camera angles on that girl lol strangers awesome especially dollface love we saw her face and get a vague explanation lol like first one can't wait for new one lol
Omg…I literally never put it together that they had the convo about her not being able to lift a bat and then the final blow to sack head was with a bat! Wow lol
So many gripes with this movie the day i saw it in theatres bc i was so excited for the potential of the family dynamic as far as them fighting together or fiercly protecting eachother..but the decision making was unforgivable in this one. It also felt like the Strangers werent even a damn team in this one so what was the point? They werent organized so its like were they just planning keep score of who got the most kills by the end? Ill say its grown on me and i can appreciate most of the cinematography, aesthetic, old-school slasher homage, a few of the family dynamics really shining through, the pool scene..etc

There's so many true crime cases people has died everywhere in everyway so really most of these movies can be based in true events lol. Yeah that girls awesome. Love first strangers. She's the inky one in both that she shows her face and she's both times played by models so she's very hot so why is she doing this lol. Why not? Lol. I wish they did another one from their pov lol. Is it like that series on that one CZcams channel where these group of people wear masks kill people but its not just them they're part of a larger cult or something. That's a creepy b lol but still hot lol. She's the only one I don't want to die and the main girl lol in the ramones shirt lol.

This one sucked compared to the original. Acting sucked, kills qere boring, even the masks of the killers looked like knock-offs of the originals. They didn't even get the same actors to play the killers. Just whack.

Having the dad go with the daughter to protect her and then having the son go with the mom to give her a little added strength if need be would've been the much better split. Even though they're dumb for splitting in the first place!
