If you were to travel back in time and play this at the King's court, it would be so hard for them to comprehend it that they would probably call it sorcery and send you to burn at the pyre.
....I am at a loss for why "Slim Shady" translates so well into a medieval version - actually, all the Eminem songs do... verily, the man is a troubadour at heart.
IMO a lot of music still sounds fine if you play it in your head with medieval instruments (you'll probz be chuckling though lol). I haven't done this myself but if you take the MIDI files of a bunch of IRL tracks, then hook them up to medieval instrument VST's, with some tweaking it would just sound like it "was" a medieval track (which is likely how these tracks are made). I'm guessing its just because the same scales were used back then as now, so todays melodies can often be perfectly interchangeable.
This actually makes me think more highly of the original version of these songs. I think this medieval style better reveals the creativity and integrity of the original compositions.

Honestly, I always thought of the Vikings as more Rock and Roll people. I mean their afterlife for heroes was an epic battle for all time, until the end of the world, which is the mother of all battles. That just screams Heavy Metal, and other intense genres. It occurred to me as I was listening to No Diggity that our lyrics would sound as bizarre and incomprehensible to them as their Shakespearean Olde English does to us.
