    Thank you very much for your details how to remove the panel. I’m going to do that in my C230 2005 kompressor. And I let you know.

    very good video, I had bolts in the middle of the console and the coffee cup holder has to be removed (just pull up on tab and twist out) and then fold back what holds the lighter to have access to these 10mm bolts, note plastic has to clear the bushings where those bolts are to slide the console back. The two screws in the vent vanes are designed to stay in the assembly once unscrewed. The whole job can be done without a magnetic pickup but useful if you have fat fingers. I had to remove the key switch so to take the switch off the panel simply use a small flat and pry on a tab of the outer ring and push counter-clock wise.

    DON’T DO IT THIS WAY, THIS GUY DOESN’T KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING.
    You can remove it from the bottom in 2 minutes. 2 freaking minutes and it’s out. WHY DID YOU REMOVE THE WHOLE DASH??? Are you replacing a DASHBOARD OR A IGNITION SWITCH????

  • @AustinTXRealEstatebyFelix

    Key still won't turn after replacing the ignition switch and key with a working one. For sure, the key was bad, but now I don't know what's the issue.

    Does the ignition switch have to be programmed by a computer to work? Or can you buy a new one and it’s ready to go?

    Could this cable be the reason why the key will not allow the switch to turn to the on position

    • @AndyPMercedesBenzChannel
      @AndyPMercedesBenzChannel  Před 5 lety

      Its a possibility, this cable runs from the shifter.. I cant remember now exact function of the cable

      @@AndyPMercedesBenzChannel I'm having this problem right now, where my key wont turn at all when you put the key in to start the car . Mercedes told me something about a " E.I.S " replacement. Not sure what to do .
