Plateup is if overcooked and cooking mama meshed together and made a roguelike, you create a restaurant as a group and have to survive to your 15th day. If a single customer is un happy, the whole restaurant closes down.

About the paper plate, it could work similarly to the sharp cutlery. Limited amounts each run but you don’t have to pickup dirty plates after use. I think it could work without being too op.
or if it too op make it like real paper plates that have to go to the trash. Still no washing the dishes but it will force investment in upgraded bins which are 99% useless rn

@@aringrey That could work *really* well with the Affordable theme, as that gets bins with no negatives when placed near customers and has a chance for consumables being reused (i.e. you grab a paper plate and there's a chance that the stack size has not decreased).
It's an interesting idea for it to be available for all themes, but it would absolutely make me think about taking Affordable vs other themes (currently I just take literally anything else when I see Affordable)

Or like a paper plate refill thing where you need to restock the dispenser or something. Or maybe fastfood style that people throw the plates away themselves but you need to wipe the table once every 2 or 3 customers
Seeing the plates missed near the end was heartbreaking. But then it came back! How is this game such an emotional rollercoaster?
The noise of leisurely eating is so loud and constant. They are the sounds of the funeral bells of the run.
The paper plate idea could work if it was like the napkins. Make it a table item that can be replenished with the supplies. Tables with paper plates will eat what's served without a proper plate.

Paper plates could be a interesting alternative to autoplater.
After customers eat their is no plate and creates greater mess. (make it so it can be restock with supplies, probably 12 plates stack)

Paper plates; come in a stack of 25; are disposed of similar to salad plates; cannot hold a side dish; reduce price of plate by 1; replenish every day. Just a thought.

I wish leisurely eating added like 7 seconds instead of 10. 10 is ridiculous and a run killer. Maybe it could add 5 seconds even. Still bad but not a run destructor
7 is a run killer too, 100%. Honestly so is 5 if you have multiple courses. +15 seconds on a 3 course setup is just busted.
I'm always so exited for plate up like sometimes like I'm exited the whole day for the video like this one.
Hey could you maybe add the run you are playing along with part x to the title of the video, like for example adding (Ultimate Salad Run, part 3) to the end of the title. Just so it's clearer if the video is a continuation of a previous video or a new run entirely :)
I think the queue patience is per person, so if two groups show up near to each other, it won’t refresh fully since the next group was waiting a while, but if a second group enters the queue right before you let the first group in, it will look like a full reset because the next group hasn’t been waiting.
That "we were doing so good" at the end is too relatable 😭
Most likely the game linearly increases the number of groups of people. But the variation in people during the day depends on the group sizes that where generated.
They seriously need to address Leisurely eating. Instead of adding a flat 10 seconds, it should add a random amount from 4-8 seconds for each customer. That would add tension without being an automatic run ender. I've never seen anyone finish a day with Leisurely Eating.
Or even just turn down the seconds from 10 to like 6 would help. Because even 6+ seconds to your customers eating times is still a decent threat,

With auto washing It took 4 soaking sinks, and 4 plate stacks, a couple dish racks and a lot of grabbers for me to get to OT day 15. I kinda like this idea, way less space when it’s just plate stacks.
It's crazy to think if there had been one more table and/or coffee table, that might have been enough of a difference for them to keep going.
36:24 the expected customers jumped from 65 to 83 then back to 65. I wonder if there is a way to manipulate the number. Never noticed that before
at the end there if the veggie was placed in the correct spot they could of probably made it, the extra time taken to grab from the other pot messed it

About the queue reset, I think it doesn't reset whenever the next set of customers came at the same time as the ones that just came in, like two alarm clocks set at one time lol

Interesting concept and great run but it's a shame that the leisurely eating killed the run.
If you've got any plans in redoing the challenge, a tip is that rather than getting full automation at the start (ie.Getting grabbers) or buying every plate stack, you could have saved* a plate stack blueprint in a cabinet. Then try to save a research desk option on the blueprint desk to upgrade into a copy desk so that you won't have to chance a reroll.

On OTday6 there was a research desk option on the Blueprint desk (right after the plate stack was saved) and I was hoping you would get it..
Anyway great job on this and I hope to see more in the next run.
The issue is that they wouldn't be able to upgrade anything for up to 3 days
@@MrMiddleWick depends on how they prioritize. 1 or 2 days in exchange for a more certainty of a desired item is thinking longer term. (ie. 1 copy desk > grabber.)
The copy desk allows copying an important item or adds an additional blueprint to reroll with. Buying plates if they need it is fine bit grabbers are less of a priority at that moment.
Either way the run's done and can't be changed... ultimately RNG killed the run..

@@MrMiddleWick Yea I saw that too. And at that point they weren't really doing any research so that would of helped. But leisurely eating kills everything in the end. They need to lower how long that takes to eat cause that's crazy
as a dedicated automation player- I have installed the CYOCards mod and disabled leisurely and picky. Both of those are run killers which is just not fair in my opinion.
watching the last day at 1.5 speed is really the best because its just SO chaotic and then super fast it looks extra stressful lol You guys did great then the game did you dirty
This man sets pizza down on the table next to who he is serving because he is afraid to make the run back and forth. Then a new table comes in and steals that pizza that was set down. Just make the run back and forth lmfao
54:45 y'all mention a franchise paper plate idea with infinite plates, but what if, stack of 100, but they throw it in the trash on the way out, and you need to be able to empty the trash.
Imagine a space themed map but it has a warp grabber that literally pulls any and all items it’s set to onto itself, so you plug the warp grabber onto either a stack of plates or even an auto player for infinity plates. But need it so it actually takes a second or 2 longer to get the plates from across the map.
I thought no one out pizzas the hut tho 😮

If you can get a franchise with Loyal Customer + Bootstrapping the loot table will only be those first 2 free appliances giving you infinite of those 2 appliances.

The surgeon analogy sounds nice but cooks are more likely carpenters and u always have extra nails just incase u lose or bend some the same goes for extra food or plate

How would too many plates on the tables cause lag? All of those plates already exist on the plate racks so if the game is going to lag, it's going to happen before your customers even arrive.
I believe the stacks are coded to simply spawn a plate

I thought I was watching overcooked... what is this game?
This was like the optimal run for leisurely eating and they still couldn’t make it work! Why is it so completely garbage?
The optimal run for leisurely eating is to have as many dish variations as possible to reduce the customer count to as low as possible - even starters and double-eating.
In its strictest sense, it's an anti-automation card; you either have too much variety to reliably automate (except for maybe some very common things like soups and coffee), making customer count low and not a problem, or it destroys you.
Or you get real damn lucky and get sharp cutlery, a boatload of supplies, and you just consider it a mandatory side-dish. (Side note: It may be a better strategy for these kinds of runs to mitigate the risk of LE by buying sharp cutlery/supplies when you see them, even if that means giving up a conveyor now?)
By the time they got leisurely eating, they already had too many customers, no cutlery, and no supplies.
Not even coffee tables help - they reduce the fluctuations between customers coming in and going out; if you have more customers trying to get in than are going out, you're still going to get a queue - it just takes a little longer (Unless you have enough coffee tables to absorb the queue until closing time).
What *does* help is adding more tables and serving more people at the same time; they take longer to eat so most of the tables are 'idle' - the only important detail is that the *rate* you are serving tables is roughly the same as before you took LE (and it's about 1.5-2x as many tables needed for that).
It actually isn't a bad choice on things like a variety franchise run because of the already-low customer count and even pairs well with Simple Tables (groups of two share a dish; you don't have to prepare two wildly different things, you can then serve them faster and as a result they leave earlier than if you used a regular table).
