I ordered red ones because they looked like the ones Dieselnoi had in a picture

By old coach always told me that boxers these days have brittle hands and that’s because no one uses mitts gloves anymore, pillow gloves = pillow hands.

Got these coming in the mail. Sizing seems weird from what I can tell on the reviews they run big? Very excited to try these out.

Thanks for the detailed and informative review👍 It really helps me to rule out some alternatives.
I also noticed that Rival has another bag mitt like glove RB50, and I have difficulties to choose between them. May I ask, which one will you recommend for a beginner who just started boxing few months ago, regarding increasing punching accuracy, as well as hand conditioning and protection? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Been wanting these for a while, but between having Cleto Reyes bag gloves and K brand (a Thai brand) I gotta wait till one of them gives out so I can grab em lol

Hello dude! I recently started going to muay thai and I realised that my 14oz sparring gloves are not good for bag work. Last time I punched with hand wraps only, but I want to get some gloves with a very small amount of protection. I was looking exactly at the Rival RB5 Bag mitts, however I was also thinking about MMA gloves. Do you think I can just go for say the Hayabusa T3 MMA gloves? Isn't it going to give me the same benefits + better wrist support? Thank you for all the videos! Keep up the good work!

Would using lighter gloves like these help build up strength in your wrist and hands? You have any tips to condition/ strengthen the wrists?

Did you have to size up to get the extra room to wrap or did you order your normal size?

  • @drew92140

Bruce Lee once used gloves like that in addition to the guys you mentioned.
With that said I’ll give this a shot. I was going to get the RB5s gloves after seeing Ramsey Dewey discuss why to train with thin bag mitts, and after I read all the comments and watching your review and others like you.
I haven’t owned a pair of bag mitts since high school when I was using the Everlast punching bag, and they tore up on me after frequent use so that says a lot.
Anyway, the RB5 is in the mail and thanks to you, Fit2Box, and Csquaredboxing, and Rival itself, I now know what to expect.
Anyway for glove recommendations, would you do a review of the Byakko Sports Boxing Gloves and the TITLE Boxing Professional Old School Leather Bag Gloves 3.0? I have my thoughts on the former, but I want to hear yours.

I have a pair of the Loma RB5's myself. If they ever do a version 2.0 (like Rival has been doing on other gloves), they should use a better velcro, like they use on their RB1's, which has an indestructible loop. Also, the angled ergo strap system would be great (I usually put mine on at an angle over the loop to mimic it). The L on the back of the glove is actually the size, not for Loma. Mine say RB5-M for medium.

I stumbled across this channel by accident and recognized you immediately from Reality Fighting in January. You may have heard me clapping while all of the casuals were booing. Great fight and great videos man! Good luck in both endeavors.

My man, I appreciate this comment more than you know! I felt awful for that fight. Not too many people knew and I am not one to make excuses win lose or draw, but I had to keep myself against him and against the fence really so my back wouldn't give out. We were running hills here in CNY after Christmas and we had a snow/ice storm and my ass flipped up and threw my back right out. I have had history of back issues but this was the first bad one in years. I couldn't really turn to give all my punches and kicks what I wanted with them so everything I threw was arm punches and the takedowns had to be the sweeps. I tried lifting him once and almost collapsed. I was really gunning for a first round finish like I had the first time I fought him, but I was physically limited big time. However, this injury is subsided and we are hoping to be on the May 6th card. I am hoping I can show the crowd what I am really capable of. Thanks for watching, hope to meet ya in person one day.

@Thee Combat Corporation That's awful man, glad to hear that you're better. Never feel bad about a fight, you did what you had to do to win. I'll probably be there in May and I would love to see you fight again.
