A lot has happened with the new home in 1 month, let's checkout the updates!
Are you two working with an architect or a builder? We definitely plan to go this route next. We didn’t have great experiences with tract builders and I was like either we remodel an existing home or build custom but think we will end up going custom.
If I could make a suggestion, add an outlet inside your closets, at least one. It sounds silly but can be very useful when having vacuums or just other Knick knacks you want out of sight but could use the area to charge. I would even add a floor outlet to your master closet and at least an outlet on each wall inside there(very useful when you may want to add lights later on your own since you and Chase do a lot of DIYs.
Be sure to add extra exterior outlets preferably on each wall and having 3 hose spigots I would recommend. One towards front and back of the exterior side wall and definitely always have one in the front not too far from your door.
Lastly, add an outlet to your pantry, two if possible. And I would add an outlet behind your bath mirrors as it would allow you to set up an lit mirror later if you wanted.
I hope this does not come off bossy, it just things that I truly wish we added an now with walls up, it will cost us more to change.
One last thing, if you can add extra recessed lights even if you don’t think you need them. I think the kitchen should have at least 8. And add a recessed light to coat and linen closets, I promise y’all won’t regret it!

You could put the dog food/feeding station in that “dead space”. Then it’s used, kind of out of the way, but not cluttered.

My parents built their home in 1979 and it had the roll out Andersen windows very similar to yours. They are wonderful for the fresh air!

I’m so happy for you! I’ve been watching you for years but never comment and I just want to tell you how proud I am for you both. CZcams is not an easy job and not everybody understands that. I know you’ve both worked your hind ends off to be where you are today. Having been in the Mortgage Division for a worldwide financial institution (Bank), for years let me tell you, remember this is your house. Don’t ever feel like you have to “ask” for anything. You tell them what you want. Think of those little things i.e. the vacuum closet with an outlet so if you ever do want to sell you have this house as updated as possible for top dollar! Great job.. You’ve earned it!

A willow trees near the pond would be gorgeous. Willows can grow to 30ft in just a few years. They love to be near water.

Wow how exciting every thing is looking nice, that is a great idea to have stairs for the attic they all should be that way I don't feel safe going up mine, I can't wait to see the rest and how you set every thing is set up hope this is your forever ever home the area sounds perfect and peaceful
House is coming along. Can’t wait to see it finished. Loving the stairs from the garage to the attic. I would put plywood down up there on all the “unusable space” and use that as the attic space, build a wall with an access door, and finish the attic space as a man cave for Chase. Just a thought.
Looks so pretty Ashley … When we built our home there was a pond there, and was that fun to landscape.. we had a bridge over one spot, we kept a row boat tied up to it.. tall trees and evergreens made it all so nostalgic & dreamy. Wow, house builders do work very fast. We live in a brand new house and in a brand sub division and we watched the house behind our house be built from dirt in less then 30 days. It is a 2k sq ft house too. They work so incredibly fast thankfully.
