I believe that Isaac Newton wanted to call his new theories about gravity "Crazy Math," however the board of directors and the publicity department decided that Newtonian Physics was catchier. Poor Isaac went to his grave feeling that people were going to get his mathematical theories confused with cookies. And that's exactly what happened. I, like you, prefer the term "Crazy Math."

    • @roonocerus

I really like the idea behind the plastic solvents that create more of a fused connection. That's probably the best way to go as far as integrity.
But I also know, knowing me (LOL), I would have had it all over the place even more than the glue, with half the mini mildly melting from the excess. :)
OH, and "sprue glue"... that's a neat thing to make from the leftover plastic. (Break up the leftover sprues and place in a glass jar of acetone.) Something I learned only recently.

If you want to find the center of any circle all you need is a square (tool) or any right angle. Just draw two right angle triangles anywhere in the circle making sure all points touch the edge of the circle. Where the two hypotnuses intersect is the center of that circle. Quick, easy, and accurate!

This is a great way to get more value out of your figures, keep having fun coming up with fun combinations, and if/when you play Stargrave or other game systems, your not stuck with a model that doesn't adhere to the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) issue with points or the rules.

I've always been interested in minis like these, but still haven't brought myself to do it yet. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video & sharing what you've done with them. Just out of curiosity, did you consider making any molds of the bodies or parts to be able to use all the heads?

I got into minis about 3 years ago now and honestly I'd highly recommend it.
I've tried to cast copies of swords and helmets that I really liked but I've never had any luck with it. There are others who have though. It's definitely possible
And here are some lessons I've learned:
Don't worry about mistakes when assembling, you can always hide them later with creative painting.
Paint and assemble minis you like instead of ones you need for a list.
Paint them in a scheme you enjoy. Nothing is worse than painting 40 dudes in a scheme that bores you to tears.

@@facenameple4604 Thanks for saying so. They look like it, but I'm no painter & slightly intimidated, however CrafsMan makes it look really fun here. Might have to pick up some of these.

@@turnt_barbarian The lack of knowledge and price of the minis is really what's stopping me. I have always been afraid of messing them up. No painting skills and assembling required has always sidelined me, but I'm more about "what I like" than "what I need" because I don't play the games. Not by choice, but by living where nobody plays. LOL
Thank you very much for commenting & the suggestions.

Thank you all here for watching and taking time to comment! :D
Jay, that's a good question! My mind often thinks "how would I make a mold of this?" :D These would be fairly TRICKY, for sure, given the small size. Venting and pressure casting is likely essential to success here, because bubbles in those little points (like the tip of a knife blade) would present a challenge. Still, definitely possible.

Hey Crafsman, it's cool to see you getting into minis. One tip, you can use the blunt side of your knife to scrape and clean the mould lines to make your minis look nicer.
