Despite Gervais’ comedic and goofy reputation (with respect to his crass honesty), he really helped to make an artwork. I’m American, so I’m used to stories with violence, but they’re savage and primal, not really of high-level thought or a deep connection.
But when movies get people to think, and try to make ourselves better, those artworks are truly the greatest, and they’re priceless. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Downsizing, this movie… These (and things like Star Trek and stories like the Fifth Element) are how movies should be!

      @firaschibani6387 Před rokem

      Totally !
      Wow
      It ia a "created plot"
      Just remember that...
Religion has a highly logical clues.
If you havent heared a clue that doesnt mean that god doesnt exist. ( not knowing doesnt mean that there is not ) it is a claim and requires a clue.
      Someone in the past :
"there is no bacteria ,because i havent heard / seen it"
"There is no god ,because i havent heard seen him"
Is that a logical inference ?!
The most you can say is that you "dont know"
Atheism = "i know that there is no god"
Ok what is your evidence ? Apart from being conclusive ... : i havent seen/heard god !
You havent seen africa but you know it exist , why is that !( ask your self )
You havent heard that : striking an air bubble under the water with an ultrasonic frequncy wave releases a light 💡( it is like majic and yet it is a true fact that you can google right now )
If you got back in time and told an antient man that :
in the future there will be a huge holo aluminum tube that people could get in and move in sky between contries with a 24 h ( max ) for arrival.
He will defenitly say : impossible
      And yet it happens nowadays
His impossible means : *usual* impossible : usually doesnt happen ( in reality it is possible )
      While
      * logical* impossible like : imagining a triangular circle/ a part bigger than the whole etc... : which you cant imagin in in the first place.( this is the correct meaning of the impossible )
Now if a thing is possible...
then we order a cule/s and particularly in this case (existance of god) it should be a very strong cule
Why? Because this god commands us to follow rules that sometimes are hard and we dont prefer.
This is the correct way of thinking isnt it ?
My name is firas and i am a muslim
And believe me my brother islam has a very very strong simple logic that ( if you heard it correctly and understand it ) would be a total fool if you refuse it.
If you are interested ( and i hope you are ) just send me a reply here and i will send you everything🌹

Bad reviews of this movie are ridiculous. The message here is great. It is not so much about religion but about how to be a good person no matter if there is an afterlife or not. It is sad to see so many religious people who do not understand that and are even being rude towards such a nice message. Just because you believe in God does not mean that you are a good person. Just because someone else can ask a question or have doubts about something that, by the way, has no solid proof does not make him "satanic" or whatever you want to say. I am not against Christian morals at all but the more I look the more I see Christians who are far away from those morals as anyone could possibly be. Be kind. It's not hard.

This is one of my favorite movie's ever, it has so many layers, and as a 54 yr old hetero guy, um...there are scenes that make me ball like a fool, i don't understand why, there's just a really genuine sweetness to the main character, and after all that lying, he tells the truth for the truths sake, I love that part. Can you imagine this world, you can't even help saying everything you think because that would be deception, holding a thought back is lying so you say everything you can think of saying, it's really an amazing concept! Totally !

While the movie had an interesting idea, the biggest issue is the premise is the plot holes and not many defined rules.
My biggest issue is lying being mind control in this universe, people can still be wrong and I don't like how everyone simply does whatever the MC says. The Casino scene doesn't make sense, slot machines record wins and the owner either simply doesn't care or bother to check records. Another is the dealer forgetting the spot where the the chips where it was literally on one end of the table. Does the dealer actually believe it or does he not care?
To me the highest this film will get out of me is probably 6/10 it's alright but the plot to me falls apart

However, as far as religion, I share the same views that Ricky Gervais does, so I probably enjoyed this film more than most people. And, if nothing else, this film probably showed religion for what it truly is, which is a good thing as far as I am concerned.

Just one simple thing for everyone that says that the Christian religion started the same way as in this movie.
The Bible is existing off many many stories, which are written by different people in different times. All books are written within a timeframe off more than 500 years. Many stories are corresponding to each other and some books even predict what happens in the future which was confirmed to be correct later on.
If this is all a lie, than how can all the books and stories, which are written by different people that didn’t know about the other stories, all fit together?

in the future there will be a huge holo aluminum tube that people could get in and move in sky between contries with a 24 h ( max ) for arrival.

I didn't understand anything from this trailer. Is this a world where none can lie? And how does he lie then? Is it a good movie, should I watch it?

I would be so rich. I would just keep withdrawing money until I had everything I wanted.

I would 100% tell everyone I’m a god able to change their perception of reality in an instant.

My mother and I watched this movie the other night on television. We found most of the scenes to be quite hilarious. I found Justin Bateman's lines and delivery of those lines to be quite hilarious. I'm assuming that the writer/writers are atheist perhaps. Based off of some of the things that took place in the movie. I didn't necessarily care for their take on certain things. But the money was pretty funny. I'm surprised that I'm just now hearing about it.
