In the beginning, the first thing God declared bad was loneliness, and it still plagues humanity today. In this message, Dr. Stanley lays out a clear-cut path to overcoming this involuntary solitary confinement.

As a believer in Christ I too struggle with loneliness. I have been single for several years and it can be frustrating. I can only cry to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Prayers for all those who are struggling. 🙏
I'm 36 now, feels like i wasted my years with grudges and social rejection because of the grudges (i closed my self). I always have this feeling that it is too late, and when i don't have the feeling i just waste my time. I got some grey hairs, that was my wake up call. Now i want a wife and 4 kids fast and be done with it, so that when i'm 55 i have 4 working kids to talk to who can give me comfort and support.
The most important thing is meaningful social relationship with family so i need to make a family. I'm just scared of death at the end, it's like everything is wiped out. I think about how many people (and animals), 110 billions, have laughed and cried before us and they are all gone now and their memories are wiped out, this makes me sad, that in the end everything will be wiped out, it is disturbing my motivation to make family and makes me feel lonely.
I beleive in god as a support teddy bear against loneliness and memory deletion, that at least god remembers, but I had a depression so i felt that if god remembers he is keeping it to himself, like a lonely parent who sees all his children die and sit lonely with only the memories for himself, this is also depressing. In summary, both good and bad life will be deleted at the end, we can only choose to dull this idea away from our awareness with as much social happiness as possible while we live.
I'm very grateful for my mother and siblings, they are my gods now, they remember everything we did together. My grudgy father made everyone around him grudgy, he is dead now.
I hope Aubrey de Grey and david Sinclair or some genius Chinese comes up with life extension medicine, it will a great motivation booster.

Another cure for loneliness. Ask God to lead you to someone (maybe elderly) who's lonely and spend time with them
bringing sunshine into their day. Doing something for someone else will bring great joy and takes focus of off

that is a wonderful suggestion. someone else always has it worse for sure. make a difference where you can. Know that God does love you no matter what.
That is such great advice. Theres nothing that makes one feel better than giving to those who are in need. We reap what we sow - so if we want love - we should give it always.
This life ain't nothing but GOD & LOVE - if we give love in all we do - even when we''re blue - God will take care of the rest.
So true one of my good friends and neighbor of 15 years is in a nursing home and alot of people there are lonely, I always feel better ❤ there saying hello to everyone

This was my favorite line as well. Something I need to maybe realize. Loosing my girlfriend is agonizing and lonely but maybe he is saving me from disaster or something better

My beautiful wife of 36 years died from brain cancer in 3 weeks since we found out. So sudden and unexpected that it rocked my world with loneliness. All I have in this world is the hope and love of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. I talk with Him and He talks with me and it is enough. I trust Him and obey Him as much as I can. Thats all I can do. At 72, theres not much hope of finding another who loves me. I get it, but it's really tough because God is love and we all need to be loved. Things happen for reasons even if we don't understand. Lean not on your own understanding. Oh Lord, why would you be mindful of me? Thank you dear Lord Jesus.
Loneliness has always gotten me into toxic relationships. I pray that I may feel Gods presence and embrace this season of being alone. In Jesus Holy name Amen.

“If anybody understood loneliness, Jesus did.” Straight up. A simple but powerful truth.
When was Jesus ever really alone? In the Desert for 40 days but he was with his father, the Devil and Angels. He always had Crowds around him. Sometimes 100's. Even when the Disciples Betrayed him, he was Surrounded by a Crowd. When He hung on the Cross his Friends and Mother and Mary and his Disciples were at His Feet. So l don't understand?

You can be surrounded by people and still feel lonely. In essence, loneliness is being misunderstood. Jesus was misunderstood by many in the crowds, by the religious leaders, by his own followers and even his own family.

If you put your trust in JESUS as your Lord and Saviour, He washes away all your sins and frustrations and give you peace. With this peace JESUS also give you authority and power over all evil spirits. You just need t exercise that in JESUS name and command the loneliness to leave you or autistic to leave your son. Because the name of JESUS CHRIST is above all names all diseases and illness. JESUS CHRIST has done this for me so I know it is possible to be completely free.
100% I know this message is for me. God is speaking directly to me through this as this has been my major battle right now. I'm 19 and going through extreme loneliness as a college student who's Christian in Los Angeles of all places. Please pray for me.
EDIT: Just want to say thank you to everyone who has said they're praying for me even almost three years later. I'm 22 now. Although not perfect, things have changed tremendously for me. I now have brothers I'd take bullets for, direction and purpose in life and so much more thankful for.

Do you ever take the initiative to be a friend to someone in the church?? My personal experience is that I am a friend to people that aren't necessarily my friend. However I no longer get annoyed by it. I just see myself doing what GOD call me to do. When I am on youtube I text like I am doing now to communicate with like minded people.

God is going to send someone to be your friend at church if you are at the right church that believes that we are saved by faith and not by our good actions. I’m approaching 40. Never been married, never had kids. I’ve seen literally all my friends get married and have families and buy homes and go on vacations. I love Jesus with all my heart. I’ve been praying for years for a husband and family. But I stopped praying I’ve just completely given up. I’m always surrounded by women and families and believe it or not but it makes me feel worse. I know I’ll be a Bride in Heaven. My home is with Jesus in the Heavens. So exhausted from the heart break and disappointments. I’m ready to go home.

For you who are single, I am married to a man who stopped sleeping in bed with me 7 years ago and now doesn't touch me at all. So even in a relationship some of us have the same lonely emptiness. I pray for you, please for me, for us.

Rejection, neglect, abuse by family and a number of bad choices have left me lonely. I struggle to see and experience God for who He really is. I never married and have no children. Please pray for me.

Ask the lord for direction. He knows what you need. You need to respect his way and will when you receive it. When you do respect it as you would want to receive it. Have faith in who the lord is. My loneliness is accompanied by the greeving of the loss of my husband 3 weeks ago . Married 43 years 4 months.i gave my life to Christ in 1976. I know God is always with me . That's how I cope and taking One day at a time!!!

I’m a wife, daughter, mother and sister and still very lonely. I try reaching out to people and staying encouraged but it doesn’t always work.
My husband is way in the Middle East and I feel like he doesn’t even miss me, he can adapt well to any situation and I envy that about him. Because I’m the opposite.
I’m desperately looking for work which isn’t making life any better and Just seems to add more worry and stress.

My friend i ca be your friend i'm always alone i only have my 1 son i have been suffering with depression all my life their when was a time i wish if i was dead that i could stop suffer the pain of loneliness but i realized it was'nt apart of God's and i beleive God allow me develop aspecial love for my son that each time the thought of death comes to me i refect on him. Its really hard and sometimes i wonder if this will ever stop
I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

I'm single and I just lost my beloved mother unexpectedly, and is been so hard. 😭💔. She lived with me in all my life, she was my mother, companion, best friend, confidant.. I've been praying to God to heal me. I don't know how I'm going to live without her. 😥

🏖 there's a huge difference from being "alone", and "lonely". I live alone (and love it)! I am not lonely!. Unless you are incapacitated, I sincerely understand - but there's so much "out there", that you can do for interaction with other people (and maybe meet someone if that's what you want)? ! My parents always said "if you're bored or lonely, get up and go help someone"!! Volunteer, go to festivals, help a neighbor ANYTHING to get your mind off of your/our own circumstances!. Friends/mates will come and go, but the Lord is with us always🙏. Don't ever let someone else be your light🌸
I'm sorry there are times when God himself lays this burden on you for a time and there is nothing you can do about. If you read the Psalms David was connected to God and still suffered loneliness, Moses lived alone in the desert for FORTY YEARS and he was connected to God. Job suffered intense loneliness and God said there was no one more loyal to God on the face of the earth. God lays that on you to accomplish something in your life. It is when he accomplishes his purpose in your life he lifts this burden from you. Dr. Stanley I've listen to you for almost 20 years and think the world of you and want to thank you for the wonderful influence you have been in my life.

No, J C is correct. David was chosen because he was ostracized by his family as the youngest. The father didn't even call David to see if the blessing fell upon him but kept him with the sheep. In David's loneliness he shed many tears while worshipping God with the sheep, God listened to those songs and loved his choice to devote his lonely hours to Him. "David... A man after my own heart" one of the only characters in the Bible given that description by God.

Although time alone can be a challenge I will say when you are in a consistent personal relationship with God the Father through faith in Jesus and in a relationship with Jesus you are not alone. "It is NOT good for man (human) to be alone" That particular Scripture says enough in itself. We were created not only for an intimate relationship with God, but relationships with others.
If someone is lonely, that doesn't necessarily mean that something is wrong with them spiritually or emotionally! We all have innate, natural desires to love and be loved.
I believe that while having a great relationship with God is pivotal, there's NOTHING wrong with desiring a romantic relationship with someone of the opposite sex just as long as that person is not a bad influence on you & will help you grow in all aspects of your life.

WOW, this video is a message from God Himself. I was just crying and praying about feeling alone, meaningless, anxious, fearful and analyzing why I want to be alone -- googling whether it's wrong for a young Christian to live this way isolated. And then this video was posted. I feel like God is the only person in my life who I can truly confide in and I need to surrender to the Holy Spirit to be delivered. I instantly felt better, and more motivated for life even after praying.
This is who I recently became and I wasn’t even aware it was happening… Relocation into an entirely different environment… Feel the loss of friends, familiar church and familiar everything. I am an 82year old man, who lost his wonderful wife six years ago and since then who's children are too busy to see me. I have good friends who I see often but my loneliness comes from the disconnect with my family. They are just too busy living their lives to spend any time with me. This Sunday morning I watched two of your videos on Loneliness, the 1st one was Living In The Shadows Of Loneliness and it was very good, it covered many reasons for loneliness including children like mine. Thi 2nd video, Overcoming Loneliness, never mentioned my problem, it was all about people who cause their own loneliness. It should have been titled differently or covered all causes. I am a religious person who has totally devoted time to God, especially since my wife died, and I communicate with Him in my daily life many times a day thanking Him for the wonderful life I have had, and asking Him to help me with my problems.

My part is to call people and say hello can help a person's spirit I'm thinking of them and it helps my spirit also. I'm in my late 20s and I've struggled with this, and even serving in the Church can make one feel lonely But I have been learning that when people create opportunities that foster belonging, it lends room to getting in those moments. I agree. Texting is not the same. Calling or meeting in person with someone is way better. We all go through loneliness, but we need God in those seasons and to pray for our connections, for people to get around. For Jesus to bring us Joy
Last year, I lost my youngest son to Covid, and I have been struggling with loneliness ever since. I have some good days, as well as not good days, no matter how much I pray and read the Word. I miss my son so much.

I've had 4 relationships that were abusive , I am 61 years old now and I really wish I could have found someone to grow old with. My parents stayed married for over 35 years until my dad passed away, my 2 sisters still have awesome long marriages, my 2 brothers are married, never divorced. The only one who didn't get married or had long relationships is my brother and me. I watch my sisters marriage and I really wish I had that. I'm very lonely now, I have been a Christian for a long time but I don't understand why I never had a great loving relationship. I am trying to just hold onto Jesus, I don't understand why he let that happen. I would love to have someone in my life to share things with. Please pray for me, I need to accept that it happened and if something is meant to be then it will be. Jesus will be my love and I also believe he will bring someone in my life that will not abuse me but will love me.

I feel so lonely. During the months of April-June, i suffered so much dealing with attacks from the Enemy. I had so much hatred in my heart. Finally, during July I committed myself to God, He turned my life around. I finally wanted to please God! He was teaching me so much through his Word. Then school started for me and I let myself go. I feel so sad and alone, most of my friends have gone to other schools and have other stuff to do. COVID has definitely not helped, it's terrible. I get so lost in my thoughts I don't know what to do. I have become so desensitized towards everyone and God. I try to pray and read... I still feel like I am not getting anywhere. I also suffer from irreverent thoughts...it's hard.

In agreement with this whole message and isaiah 41:10, 2 corinthians 6:14-15 I bind to hell every fear of being alone in my life, the lives of my family, my friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ, while I loosen myself of every unequal yoke and common share with those being afraid of being alone, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

I have been alone my entire life. At least I thought that until I watched this. Jesus is with me amen 🙏.
I was baptized 7 months ago the 1st week after my baptism I was going through CZcams channel and stopped on Dr. Charles Stanley's channel he helps me get my day started every morning to put on my armor for God

Loneliness is something I’ve felt my entire life even in a room full of people, Jesus saved me in December 2019 and he filled that place that was empty in me and I never feel alone with him beside me yet I still get feelings of not being good enough and isolate myself from others

I was more lonely going to sunday churches. Fasting and praying healed the loneliness. Because I have a stronger walk with Him!
