На жаль, на даний момент у всьому світі їх працює менше 150. Я досі лобіюю міністра оборони, щоб зарезервувати 12-24 Gripen C/D для України та збільшити виробництво JAS 39 E, щоб компенсувати... але це виробництво все одно займе роки.

@@TheGoodwin32 пока все гонятся за топовыми показателями по типу грузоподъёмность, дальность скорость и маневренность, шведы создали простой и универсальный самолёт который может покрывать непосредственно их нужды. Он небольшой, простой , может взлетать даже с автострады, не привередлив к обслуживанию, вроде как надежный (на счёт этого мало информации). Я думаю он идеальное решение для тех небольших стран которым не по карману самолеты по дороже и которым более важен оборонный сегмент. По своим характеристикам он слабоват, многое в нем надо бы обновить или усилить, но сама концепция мне по душе.

Den hade varit perfekt för Ukraina men ser inga möjligheter för stora kvantiteter av den då det är begränsat av tillverknings takt

What a beautiful aircraft! Hopefully Malaysia will have GRIPEN in the future. Currently we are using an advanced Sukhoi 30mkm. But that's not enough. Malaysia needs more advance aircraft like GRIPEN.

The plane as a fighter jet is okay, it's top 10 but that's pretty much it.
I guess which one is in the top depends on the country's needs.
According to an air force professional:
‘Gripen first participated in Red Flag 2006 with the Gripen A,’ says Stefan Englund , former Swedish Air Force Flight Engineer on Quora. ‘It was assigned to the red team. Reduced AWACS, reduced ground support. The Gripens connected their link systems and acted themselves as AWACs, got the battlefield awareness necessary and avoided all ground defence, scored 10 kills the first day including a Typhoon. No losses they remained undetected. One Gripen pilot knocked down five F-16 block 50+ during close air combat in Red Flag Alaska. And the Gripens never lost any aerial encounter or failed their mission objectives. It was the only fighter that performed all planned starts, while others were sitting on the ground waiting for the weather to clear up. The evaluation was that Gripen capacity needed to be revaluated.
‘And no disrespect to any other fighters, including Norwegian pilots because they’re just as well trained, but during a combat exercise with the Royal Norwegain Air Force, 3 Swedish Gripens went up against 5 RNAF F-16’s. The Result was 5-0, 5-0, 5-1 after having flown 3 rounds.
Englund continues: ‘During Loyal Arrow in Sweden, 3 F-15C’s from the USAF were intercepted by a Gripen acting as an aggressor. The result was 2 F-15’s shot down and one managed to escape due to better thrust/weight. To the F-15s defence it was on the Gripens back yard.

@@MrMk82 I don't have the faintest idea. The two planes are built upon two very different philosophies. The F35 is built with an airplane hull design built for stealth, while Gripen is built with electronics used for stealth. The philosophy as I have heard it is something like "Sooner or later there will be a counter-measure to a stealth hull design, with skyrocketing costs as a consequence. Gripen is built to upgrade its electronics to stay ahead of the game". I am not an aircraft constructor, so I don't know the merits of the two philosophies, but then again, one also must take into account that the F35 and the Gripen were built for different roles. But to avoid that kind of non-constructive bickering about who's airplane is "best", it should be noted that both were built with a common foe in mind, not to fight each other!
@@johanmolin3213Ofc it matters what or witch is the best. F35 is already doomed due to high costs and poor quality. The air craft is to delicate. Stealth is kinda over rated. As soon as you engage the radar your "cover" is blown so to speak. The gripen in this video the C model kinda showed that you dont need a puropse built Stealth jet to be invisible. 4 gripens in the Air totalt fooled USAF and remained undetected during this exercise and shot down the adversaries with ease. Proved the most expensive is not the best and the stealthiest. And after that we (The swedes) where forbiden to use the gripens "Link" system further on cause they thought is was unfair...
