What is happening, and it is basically what happened in the story from the Tanakh/Torah too, is an unconventional war. When a conventional war does not work, oftentimes the enemy will conduct unconventional warfare, and that is exactly what the Socialists have done since the 50's. Also see Yuri Bezmenov's warning for America. BTW, I was born in a Socialist Repu blic/communist dictatorship in the Balkans. I survived the socialist tyranny I warn against.

The start and growth of the tea party movement is proof that things are changing in our favor. As far as martial law goes, it's already been shown that the U.S. military simply doesn't have the manpower to enforce something on that scale. It would have to be enforced locally by Sheriff's departments. And think about how many deputies there are per capita! Plenty of which (during all the gun ban talk) have publicly stated they won't enforce things they deem in violation of state or federal constitutions. Also, there are plenty of people in military and law enforcement that share your views. I'm willing to bet they'd start a military coup before they'd turn on the American people. And by the way, if someone knocks on your door, and they want your guns, tell them "times are tough, so I sold them all." They have no way of tracking/proving who has what.

However, I think you're right on about God being our salvation from this world.
