    I owned a Boxster 2.7 987, and absolutely loved it. The “little” flat six in these cars are stunning, the sound track--wow. 13:33

    Thanks for the update Mark as I just love your dry, practical explanation. It's a refreshing change from the typical hype styles. I know what you mean about looking back when you walk away, I do that constantly. I love my '07CS. Cheers and all the best! 🍻🇺🇲🇬🇧

    Interesting update Mark, and it's great to see you enjoying the car and actually driving it, a lot.
    I'm 10k into M140i ownership, and absolutely loving it, as it meets all my requirements (well it does now it's 455bhp).

    Any video from Mark is interesting!
    Just picked up a 66 reg Fiesta st about 5 days ago, after watching many of your videos about it!
    The front discs need replacing soon but luckily I know someone who made a good guide on doing this!
    Absolutely love it! Though I'm only averaging 27mpg on my last tank - lots of spirited driving however 😉

    About the tyres I'm with you there I absolutely love new tyres!! I've been driving over 10 years but I fully taught my fiancee to drive during the lockdowns (bought a cheap £500 runaround, months and months of 'lessons' and passed first time in late 2021). But when it came to replacing the tyres on her car I was like "I'm jealous of you get to experience something so lovely for the first time"🤣 and even though it's a cheap Peugeot we put Michelin's on it, brilliant 👍

    I’ve had my Cayman 987.2 for about 2 years now. No issues. Only needed to do basic maintenance, which I save hundreds doing myself. Gotta say though, doing an oil filter swap was a huge pain since the housing was an arms length into the car.

    I recently picked up a 987 boxster s, agree with what you say about the communication of the car to the driver, it's epic, on track it lets you know exactly what's going on under you. And the flat 6 sound track is glorious! I just hope it doesn't send me to the poor house.....

    Went into buying a 2007 cayman base with 104,000km for $30,000cad. It was beat to hell. Had tow hook hanging out the front, bad tires/brakes. No maintenance log. Ended up walking away.

    My 981 base Cayman manual has 20" wheels
    235/35 and 265/35 tires.
    Whats your take on the wheel/tire difference between 987 and 981

    Mark you have 250 lb-ft in 987.1 S, my 987.2 has 215lb-ft, we roughly make the same BHP but you have more torque...

    I would love to try a Cayman . I’ve tried lots of different cars but just keep going back to Minis , simply because they are so much fun to drive compared with everything else I’ve tried . Would you say a Cayman is as rewarding to drive as a Mini ?

    • @caliremus
      @caliremus Před 2 lety

      I also own a mini and never tried a cayman but I’m pretty sure theres no comparison, just think where the engine is located in both cars

  • @FalconXE302
    @FalconXE302 Před 3 lety

    Interesting how you say you don't miss a Turbo engine... the very reason you say you like this engine, because you have to rev it out, is the very reason I don't like NA engines, unless they are big cubes with naturally big torque numbers. I want torque at low revs and I get that from my 5.7 litre NA V8 and my 2.3 Turbo.
    I must say though... out of all the NA around... Porsche do sound the best when you get them up near the end of their rev range.
    ... and the main thing... it's a PORSCHE... it well built, it's reliable, it drives well and they are simply fantastic cars.
    The other reason I prefer boosted engines... the ease of purchasing upgrades to increase your power by "a lot".
    To get similar gains with an NA engine that you can with boosted engines, means you have to open the engine up.
    So if you gave me the choice of two cars, who's performance was identical in every way... one NA and one TURBO, I would always go for the TURBO... but that's just me.
    Love the video's Mark... cheers

    Good informative video as usual.I’m surprised you like the lack of torque in the N/A engine though.I find that painful these days,stirring through a manual box to make progress.As for the looks….very subjective.I doubt many people would take a second glance in my opinion.
