Brash phenom Conor McGregor takes Las Vegas by storm as he makes his first appearance on a UFC Pay-Per-View, a main card bout against fearless scrapper Dustin Poirier.
Conor was so much more in control of his emotions back then. Calm, cool and collected. He seemed so sure, so confident that he would walk through his competition. Which he did up until Diaz. It’s such a stark difference to now. After getting all of that money from the Floyd fight, he turned into a completely different person. I hope he finds that groove again. Not so much for fighting, but for his life afterwards.
So true. It seems like he always had demons (like most of us), but they were kept in check. Some fire, some craziness can be useful, but the fame definitely tipped him over into a bad place. I know it’s a bit of pop psychology, but it’s obvious even to a hack like me that Conor is a different person here like you said.
He's one of the rare athletes that can rise to the occasion and not let pressure overtake him. I'm not a huge Connor fan but i respect that. He's got alligator blood.

Smashing a bus window with a dolly and having an impact on 3 fighters that day? Two physically, one mentally (trauma) and one with a title fight - huge negative impact on their career. There's nothing to defend with Conor and try to turn him into the victim, he paid his price, in fact, I think Khabib should have done more "smesh" to his skull but the restraint and the mental fortitude to know it wasn't the right thing and could get him into trouble saved him and probably out of his huge respect for his father. Connor was just a spoiled rich brat (claims otherwise) that ran his mouth and he couldn't back it up.

Not sure why people talk about net worth so much. When a popular fighter dies, do they talk about their net worth? No, why, because it's stupid. McGregor is like that band that had a good 5 year run, released some incredible records and then just faded into obscurity. Conor was always a below average fighter that never cared about greatness.
People just tend to forget how special he is and how special his rise was, to come from Ireland and do what he did and does. They don’t have champions, of course they don’t teach the best wrestling but given what he was given and how great he did he’s a star imo.
The sport moved on, the talent pool grew and the fighters all got better sadly Connor didn't he stopped developing thinking he was better. Cannot argue with what he did with the UFC and how he brought it up.. But it kept climbing.. He stopped...
It doesn't matter. He became featherweight and lightweight champion at the same time dominated the pound for pound best fighter of UFC undefeated for 10 years and then fought floyd mayweather in boxing and made millions. He did all he set out to do, and that will be remembered for ever regardless of whether he retired after.
Such a moment in time and the rowdiness and passion of the 🇮🇪 people made the perfect story for Conor’s rise, I see a similar emotion in the 🇲🇽 fans with the rise of their countrymen in the ufc.

That was not his sister saying that but his girlfriend Dee Devlin. But that was the sister braiding the hair. The McGregor clan is amazing, you can tell the family is close and United.
