As usual when I see your videos, I'm just blown away with how much the American farmer does each day. He or she must be an electrician, plumber, carpenter, heavy and light equipment mechanic, veterinary technician, "bovine dietician" if I can call it that, lol, computer savvy and of course be a good business accountant. No wonder your workdays go well beyond sunup to sundown! Your videos are a great PR hit for the general public that thinks milk comes out of a jug. Thanks for your great videos!!
Such a nice simple job you have. Plumber, electrician, carpenter, roofer, welder, equipment operator, vehicle maintenance, animal nutritionist, veterinarian, accountant, videographer, editor, UAV operator, agronomist, ag chem applicator, what else am I leaving out here? Oh, yeah, CZcams rock star! Keep up the good work!
Love living as a dairy farmer vicariously through you. Sometimes life as an engineer can be boring. I have my work cut out for me with structural evaluations in SW Florida now after Hurricane Ian. Thanks for the video.
What it do y'all?? Been a ride or die on this farm since day 1!!! These cows are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND TAKEN CARE OF!!!!! Eric, his dad and the staff work HARD TO BRING A HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT!!!!!
I used to feed on a 600 cow dairy. They fed ionic salts also. I think they had one milk fever case in 9 months. It really helps the older cows. More than anything
I love seeing the ladies laying down in their stalls and napping or just relaxing :) you guys really do care for them very well and it shows!! I’m sure I don’t get your products in Arizona but I sure do appreciate you and your family being farmers and dairymen and helping to feed America!! 😊🎉 thank you from our family to yours!
There's been times in my Life, where I worked 7 days a week, months & years on end. I'll be 63 in January. Been disabled since Sep 2009. It's been an adjustment. Love Farmers. Stay Safe, for as Long as You can. God Bless.
Great video Eric! After seeing you working on the silo unloader and the feed pusher - I was thinking the new feed mixer has been a steady piece of equipment for heavy, daily use. You do a good job of maintaining your equipment and much of it is running well. Don't know that I can recall a big problem with your milking system either.
Hi Eric, I liked your explanation of the reason you all choose not to use feed troughs, it certainly is a good one. You guys do a really good job at caring for your cows, feeding the blended grain and mineral for better calving is just one of several great points. There is just so much you all do there, I have to tip my hat to your stick with it positive attitude. Thanks for the video, I liked it, have a great week.
Really enjoyed a great video. It good to see what y'all put into your feed for the cows. How y'all take care of them and how you explain things from why y'all do things a certion way to why y'all add certion things to the feed. Love watching duchess run around making sure y'all doing it right. Y'all stay safe and be careful. God bless y'all.
I'm watching Eric at 6:23 thinking to myself, "that has to be fun." Eric at 7:00, "that's still a fun job even though I've been doing it for many years."
I've mentioned a few times over the years that you should do weekly inspection of the feed machine that pushes the feed back to the cows. If you did PM maintenance weekly, cleaning adjusting, oiling, fixing stuff it would look great and work great. Fix the issues before they become break downs. Like I mentioned before too, that kind of attention to detail come from me being in the US Marines for 13 years and in another military branch for 12 years, plus 14 years civil service with the US Military
I am glad that you were able to get the kinks worked out of the robotic alley scrapers. The barns really look comfortable, and the cows clean as usual. It was sure fun to see Dutches trying to help your dad with the electrical repairs. You know she just wants to be involved with everything. So you might want to consider giving her a little more air time in your videos. Just a thought. Thanks for all of your hard work 😊 and have a blessed week!
Great video as usual that feeding cattle stuff would be confusing I've done it before but not quite like that can't wait to see more of your guys's Farm take care and God bless
Hey Eric. I am a dairy farmer from Schleswig-Holstein. It’s the northernmost state in Germany. I am currently in the US for Tourism. It’s great here ! Wish you and your farm all the best.
Ten Gen, thanks for the explanation of the profile of the feed area. It helps to understand why its not cupped or J shaped and is flat. Little 'Jack Russel' terrier sure look like she's getting familiar with the routine and is helping you do your work.
It's funny how some cows like to put their head into the feed flowing out of the mixer where others turn their heads to avoid it. I wish you would make a video about some of their quirky behaviors and curiosity. Cow humor!
I love your posts and your work ethic. I hope you get time to spend with your young family. I live in Adelaide South Australia and I watch all your posts. Thank you.
Know that feels when its dreary weather rainy can’t get in fields nothing really to do except fixes things around the farm mix feed sort cattle the ones that our do to have calf’s, clean calf pen’s . Give shots or trim hoofs and milk cows. Something different and explain how the minerals help cows with calf’s that was interesting to watch Eric good video.
A dairy farmer friend of mine (one of only 10 in Bucks county these days) explained the idea of TMR feeding. His set up is in a tie stall barn with most of the feeding done as they are milking. I have always been curious about how long it takes to completely mix what you do.
As hard as you all work it is good to have less demanding days. I thought the rewiring of the silo was very interesting. Will you tear down the silo you will not use any more? Silo, bags, or bunks, which is best regarding cost and labor?
You were talking a bit about the variations in feed mixes for the cattle at different stages of production. Do the cattle that are actually lactating and being milked eat more to provide the energy to produce milk then the dry cows or is their intake about the same? Also thanks for the effort you put into your videos. I really enjoy watching and learning. You do a great job.
Have you tried that pro bios stuff on the calves when you take them to the new calf barn? Its a once and done thing. Its a miracle worker i give it to all my animals even the cat and dog when they eat stupid stuff.
🇨🇦 we were wondering how you have your 1/2 barrel ( we think they’re mineral feeders ?) @13:21 attached? We used the bottom 1/2 of a 5 gallon pail, drilled two holes and fastened a chain through and the heifers still manage to push them away and eventually break the pail.
Look at his dad. He’s fit. Eric is built for this work. He works smart, no harder. He’s a quick study. His dad knows that. He ware’s a mask around dust now. Bottom line is that he loves this line of work. 🙂
I really enjoy watching you feed and take care of your cows. But with all that exposed grain, how do you control mice, rats, and other grain loving pests?
Eric, I so enjoy the videos. I have such enormous respect for farmers who feed the population. Given these inflationary times, would you care to address the financial issues that farmers are facing at the present times and how inflationary costs of doing business affects the cost of milk and other dairy products? You might talk about the cost of fuel and other costs farmers face on a daily basis.
Have y’all thought of putting a scale in the skid loader for loading the grain and such? Seems like it may be more efficient, just not sure if it’s possible and what the cost would be.
Thats not a practical way of doing it and would offer no advantage. Besides they would still need the scales on the mix/feeder wagon to proportion out the feed to the various groups.
hi, that mixer doesn't look like it can mix that mineral evenly there is such a small amount it doesn't seem possible, we always put it on by hand after from a bucket, just something i noticed because it is an important step in the health of the ladies and i care. thnx
Have you looked into a machine called Sherpa it's similar to the machine you use to feed your cows. You won't need a tractor to pull it and you don't need skid steer to shave corn stored in your bunks as it will do it for you and put it into it's mixer.
As usual when I see your videos, I'm just blown away with how much the American farmer does each day. Also after several years of watching the feed mixing is still fun to watch :D
Wow, never realized how much goes into your feed mix...thanks for taking g us along....🙏🙏🚜👨🌾🚜😍😍

This was really pleasant to watch while eating my breakfast. Always love the bonus Dutchess footage!
I love seeing the ladies laying down in their stalls and napping or just relaxing :) you guys really do care for them very well and it shows!! I really love how clean the robats keep the allys! I bet the cows like it too!

Another week another handful of 10th Gen farming videos!
Happy National Farmer's Day !! sorry a bit belated. ( was Oct 12 )Thank you for all your hard work for the cows and ultimately for us !!!
We use mag flakes with our 21 days dry group. Have some success. Definitely more consistent when we do a partial decab instead of a full decab.
Very good explanations and reasoning was interesting to hear. Thanks Eric.

Hey Eric. I am a dairy farmer from Schleswig-Holstein. It’s the northernmost state in Germany.
I am currently in the US for Tourism. It’s great here !
Wish you and your farm all the best.
Fixing & feeding are two of the most important jobs on the farm. stay safe.
Wow, that little dog can run faster than that ATV. She is quick.
Ten Gen, thanks for the explanation of the profile of the feed area. It helps to understand why its not cupped or J shaped and is flat. Little 'Jack Russel' terrier sure look like she's getting familiar with the routine and is helping you do your work.
I don't know what ya'll would do without that little Kubota!
It's funny how some cows like to put their head into the feed flowing out of the mixer where others turn their heads to avoid it. I wish you would make a video about some of their quirky behaviors and curiosity. Cow humor!
Really enjoy watching you mix the feed batches and your explanation of what and why you feed what you do are excellent.
I love Dutchess she go full speed all the time
I love your posts and your work ethic. I hope you get time to spend with your young family. I live in Adelaide South Australia and I watch all your posts. Thank you.
I think I have followed for around 5 years, I am actually rocking a 10the gen tshirt today, keep up the great content.
Looks like the Dutchess of York is turning into a good little helper?
You guys do the best job feeding of all the dairy CZcamsrs that I follow ! Just sayin

Thank u for another great video.

Love the videos!!!! Will you be putting some other type of crop in the up right silo sense you want be putting corn silage in it?
Being from the South(North Carolina), we love molasses mixed with a little butter and eat it on a biscuit or other breakfast bread…..
You guys really should look into a feed pusher for skid steer. Save a lot of time for situation like this. Have a good one
Another awesome video. What would you estimate the daily water consumption of your cows 🐄
Great awesome video Eric.
Great video. I hope you did not get too much rain from Ian. Thanks.
Great work, super video 👍😉
Thanks for sharing
Such happy cows!

Great content Eric 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video as always Eric 👌
Hiya, another great video, thank you, Steve...
Hello, hello, hello!! Bizzare upload time but I'm happy with it... keeping me happy this afternoon across the pond! 🇬🇧
You could build some kind of pushing device for the Toro and use it for the heifers feed and when the feed pusher isn’t working.
13:35 I think one of the cows is having a good time xD
Good morning Erick, have a nice day!
Hi Eric and dad beautiful video as always and hard working all the time and as always you and you’re dad and families all be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love seeing how other dairy farms work. Good job on the video!!

Time for a Jamesway/Valmetal ring drive silo unloader in that far stave and get rid of the bags!
Good Morning Sir!
Saw you at Lapp Valley Farms in New Holland PA.
Have you tried that pro bios stuff on the calves when you take them to the new calf barn? Its a once and done thing. Its a miracle worker i give it to all my animals even the cat and dog when they eat stupid stuff.

Eric, if there is a skidsteer or trailer backing Olympics, you should enter... You'll likely win 1st place!
Good one
You have the coolest toys
Great vídeo
The best way to explain that extra mineral... Prenatal vitamins! Women take them too, although I am sure they are formulated a bit differently. 😁
I’ve been curious about the physical toll on Eric while running the farm . So much fixing, repairing and planned maintenance needed .
Look at his dad. He’s fit. Eric is built for this work. He works smart, no harder. He’s a quick study. His dad knows that. He ware’s a mask around dust now. Bottom line is that he loves this line of work. 🙂
Enjoyed

great video god bless you 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Love your channel. Do you have any other animals on the farm beside the cattle?

His sister has a horse, Eric has another dog.
