I am old enough to be the bride's grandmother, and I love classical music. Whilst it is great for church, I think it really puts a damper on the reception once the meal is complete. Let's face it, it's not the kind of entertainment that gets people mixing!

As they only arrived in South Africa a week before the wedding (we only met him then, a wonderful German guy). They had a beautiful beach wedding They loved everything we did for them. Two of my sons are engaged. My rule for their weddings were simple; 1) my boys needed to compromise with their fiancé on location because we are better able to travel for the weddings than the fiancé (s) families so the boys need to ensure convenient locations for their in laws if that is a high priority to fiancé. 2) No being stubborn on colors, offer their input, then smile and wear whatever. 3) it is ultimately about The bride and groom - if anyone is insisting on certain people attending, decor, clothing, food etc…. Remember if they aren’t paying, if it’s not your vibe, if you don’t want it say no…. 4) if anyone gives you any issues give them my number- it’s you guys wedding period. It is about bride- groom- your important guests- and you guys vision…. Period! This momma bear is simply the enforcer of that. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just can’t be imposing on their day beyond those rules honestly.

Lol but respect to you for making sure the bride to be is respected and making sure that her family can attend by making sure the place is closer to them then you. Also making sure that your boys help the bride to be on choosing stuff and making sure they go to the apts that they need to be at. Congrats on having a new daughter coming into the family. Blessings to them an I hope they have a perfect wedding. Remind them tho that some things happen and can't change it they just got to laugh it off an just enjoy their day. It's ok. They will look back an laugh about it 20 yrs from now. The brides to be ate getting a amazing momma in law. They are very lucky. You enjoy the day as well. Your little boys are now men.

Many people at my wedding had known my parents from before I was even born. My husband's older siblings had all eloped so his parents were greatly excited about our wedding, too, and having their extended family attend from out of state. All we wanted was for our parents to have a great time and to get to know each other. Thirty-nine years later and three of our parents and half of our wedding guests are dead. We did it right for our situation.

I am astonished at the selfishness of the mothers. It is all about their feelings. I’m just wondering what goes on in their minds and I’m the mother of a daughter her age, they are just not thinking of the couple are they? A1940s wedding could still have lively music.

#1 That short dress had potential. place a long sparkly removable shirt overlay that exposes front only. she could remove it for dancing at reception. #2 flaming bananas foster dessert #3 Classical spanish guitar for music .
