- This is a day in the life of me, a Swedish Japanese language student living and studying in Tokyo. I go to Kai Japanese Language School! That's it. Straight up. I struggled with this video for ages and it turned out ooooookay I guess. I really hope you like it at least :D

Hi! ^^ Thanks for the comment and questions ~ I studied at Kai Japanese Language School in Shin Okubo. Great place, WONDERFUL teachers. A bit expensive but in my eyes worth it :D And I did live in an apartment, yes. It was 80K yen per month ~

Hey Mr Fish I find my self coming back to this video many times it’s very well made and gets me excited every time I watch it. I am going in April of 2022 to study at Kai and I have a few questions if you don’t mind me asking.
1) how was the school to life balance.
2)what level did you start and how were the staff
3)how long was your commute if you ever did end up being able to commute?

1. This was perfect for me since it wasn't too hectic but I still felt that I learned A LOT during one year. If you keep up with the homework (there is quite a lot) I found that I had lots of time over to hang out with people and explore Tokyo :D
2. I started in level 1, so baby level. And the staff and teachers were the friendliest I have met, incredibly good at their job and genuinely hilarious and smart people. Also very helpful, you can ask the people in the reception anything and they will try to help you.
3. I lived about 45 minutes from the school, door to door :)

Living costs are much cheaper, summer is not as hot, no rainy season, and there are lots of beautiful places to see.
Also, SOUP curry, best shit there is :D (the rare Tokyo soup currys don't compare)

How much money did you save up before heading over and what was the cost of living for you? Good video btw.
I think I had about 3,000 USD with me coming to Japan and my cost of living was probably around 1,500 USD-ish per month, everything included. I might make a video talking more about this! And thank you ^^
