- In this video I replace the E36 interior with new to me interior from Pick and Pull. Also I show you how to remove electric seats from a car with no battery hooked up. Also I show how to use the power drill brush to make easy work of detailing carpet and interior on this 1997 BMW E36

THIS IS SUCH A GREAT VIDEO!
Thanks bro! Definitely will help some people out no one really has a video on this online that I could find.
THANK YOU!!! My brother and I were at a junkyard today and couldn't get the seat out. We looked online, found your video, and tried your trick of hot wiring it via the fuse with one of our batteries. IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!
Bro I appreciate your video so much, I've been fighting for a while to find a way to get a seat out of my parts car in my garage (I didn't have the forethought to move the seat forward before pulling everything past the firewall 😅) and everyone was telling me to rip the harness and plug power into it and was saying I wouldn't be able to do it through the fuse block, I saw your video, grabbed my Milwaukee 18v and a couple lengths of wire, grounded to a body ground in the dash and shoved the other into the Fuse block and voila the seat moved no problem! Thanks man!
My freaking hero! Junkyard closed on me battling drivers seat. Tomorrow morning that effen seat is coming out! Thanks for passing the knowledge!
Glad you found my video! I wish you luck 👍🏻👍🏻
Worked like a charm! Seats are in my neighbors car already thanks to you. Was a weekend project we dove into without thinking about power issues until we got to pick a part. Thanks again Will be subscribing after were done celebrating our victory with some beer drinking! You get credit for the assist !
@@h.camacho4800 glad I could help👍🏻
You literally just saved my ass at the junkyard right now, this exact scenario happened and I just happened to have my dewalt drill battery and it worked beautifully, I greatly appreciate it!!!
Glad I could help!!
@@BlakesGarage freaking genius man, so much respect.
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for sharing!
Well done. Finally a tip that is actually useful.
Thank u I needed this badly , heading to get new seats for my 2011 camaro at a scrap yard
Dude your a genius
Bad ass! Thank you so much! You're saving me money.
Thank you... I literally dismantled a seat to get it out of a car once... this would have saved my bacon!
No problem exactly why I made the video 👍👍👍
Led Zeppelin opening bumper, nice!
That’s an excellent trick right there. I’m planning on going to the “self-service” junkyard to get a heated seat module and I was wondering how to remove the seat if it’s all the way back. Thanks.
Edit: Unfortunately, in my case, someone had cut off the fuse box of the donor car O.O I had to remove the seat cover & foam and then unscrew the bolts holding the seat to the rails.
Thanks brother. Just what I was looking for.
I tried this to lower a power window today at the junkyard and I couldn't get it to work. My thought after, was I needed to power two fuses, both drivers side and passenger side, to get the passenger window to roll down. However I couldn't even get the drivers side down. I was able to use this trick to get the alpine cd changer to spit out the magazine. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
Could be that they only with with on key but you could connect directly to the window switch or motor itself.
Excellent information. Thanks bro 👍💯 definitely trying this at the junkyard
Thanks... That just helped me a lot !!! Your the best. Stay safe 😉👍
Glad I could help!!
Ayye just what I needed, about to pull some seats for my e34 and I know CA pick n pulls are fussy sometimes. Hopefully no more seat twist after today. Thanks!
Nice let me know how it works out for ya.
@@BlakesGarage it helped out big time! The rear doors were locked and I had to do the same thing to the central locking system to unlock them. The drivers seat didn't want to work tho, might have had something to do with the memory function. At least I can fix all I need for now with just the passenger seat
when you said that you didnt know what you was doing when you went to the junk yard, that was exactly how i and my father was when we went a few times, better to mess those vehicles up then my own
Life saver and great video!!
Thanks glad it came in handy.
What a legend
what did i do wrong mine wouldn’t move just kept sparking and even started a small fire
Tip starts at about 4;00 thanks!
Will this work on a 2007-2013 e93 (328i convertible)?
Definitely gave me hope for my interior!!!
So you used the purple stuff and what was the other spray?
What is the hot wire for seat
What wire moves seat back
Cool Video !!!!
how would you power the seat when its already out of the car? im trying to make a office chair out of a 2016 ford fusion seat lol.
Find the wires the power of the seat use 12V battery
@@BlakesGarage lol
Cool channel 👍 and subscribed b/c my name is Blake and i too rock a mean beard! Keep it brother hahaha
Nice!!! 👋
Hi Blake,
I just came across this video, and if you can answer a question please, for me...
I bought a powered, seat back for a SONATA. The seat portion of my seat is great, but the back part at the seam split.
Is there a way to easily exchange just the whole back of a driver's side seat? I know I will need to remove the whole assembly, but can't find any videos on the subject.
Many Thanks and Merry Christmas to you.
LG
Will this work in an E82/E90?
If I'm swapping E36 seats (manual Vaders) into a E30, do I need the seatbelt receptacles with tensioners or can I just reuse the ones from the E30?
What if the motor is defective and the seat is all the way back. I'm trying to take my car seat out to replace the forward/back motor
That's me rn smh
Yaassss queen. Lol. This was a lifesaver!
Nice
AWESOME!!!@Scrapyard
Awesome video! What gauge wires are you using?
Whatever I had probably 18awg
So...I was just at the junk yard and found some somewhat decent seats from a e36 325is coupe. HOWEVER, the fuse box is also missing from the car. Anyone know a solution to this?
You can unplug the harness below the seat and do the same technique just will have to setup something good with some wires before
BLAKE. IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE AN ELECTRIC DRIVER SIDE SEAT AND REMOVE AND REPLACE THE DRIVER SEAT OF A 2003 HONDA CIVIC LX FOR ONE JUST LIKE THE ONE YOU REMOVED FROM THAT CAR YOU WORKED ON.?
Anything is pos with enough modifications. It’s not just gonna bolt in tho.
A Tornador on an airline might get those stains out.
Definitely gonna try an extractor sometime but it looks a 💯 times better for now.
Dewalt battery 18 volt?
How about normal external battery with 12volt?
They will not allow you to bring in a battery and hook it up. That why you do the drill trick.
@@BlakesGarage ok so,conclusion 18v required..
Next question, how u connect to the fuse circuit?
The fuse have 2 side,, do u connect all side circuit to + battery drill?
@@BlakesGarage which side can i connect with +battery
Rani Trana google it. Each battery design is different or use a volt meter. Negative goes to chassis ground.
@@BlakesGarage i know man,,
I mean slot number 5 fuse box 1side or both side you connect to +battery??
"Fuse has 2 side"
How’d you do the drivers seat
Same way just changed the fuse location to where I hooked up the wire.
Blake's Garage tried that seat didn’t move
ive started my car with the same trick when i got stranded because the battery died lol
That’s rad 👍
You could have made the 17 minute video in 30 seconds. Haha. The only person I've ever heard talk more and say less in my life, is me. Lol
Driver seat another story. This method only works for passenger side only.
No it works for both just use the different fuse location on the fuse box each seat is feed from a different circuit.
So this doesn't help on a car that had an engine fire :p
I mean it could just depend on if that circuit is melted going to the seats. You can also use the drill battery method at the seat plug itself. Get creative something will work out for ya 👍🏼
Life skills to learn in 2020.Hot wire cars 👍
Haha hell yeah!
