This series documents my attempt to follow Somerset's longest river from its source, all the way to the sea. In this video it's finally be time to deploy the inflatable boat I'd been lugging around; but how far can I actually paddle it...?

In this British wild camping expedition I attempt to travel from source of Somerset's longest river, all the way to the sea! To make things more difficult I've challenged myself to stick as closely to the river as I possibly can, trying to never leave its banks. Is this possible? I have absolutely no idea. But I'm incredibly curious to find out!

Angus Are what 85--90 precent of people in South Dakota have, then next is Red Polled also a bit temperamental but more calm, and then Highland is becoming more popular due to how they can ranch these hard parts of land, have about 5 per the heard, then for the beef that they can sell as lean/extra lean easier due to how the coat keeps them warm. The hair from the hides has also been used in some insulation for clothing the way different wool can be too. I then know due to breading the Dairy cattle have a better temperment and had to due to having to be around humans. Same can be said of former dual purpose that are mainly for beef now like the standard Shorthorn another one taking off in South Dakota as part of the other 15--20 percent for beef due to how it has a better temperament then an Angus but not quite that of a dairy only cattle. Most temperamental are the Bison people raise due to how they are still 85% wild but bonus they are almost self reliant.

The worst thing about Ed falling over the barbed wire fence in the last episode is that the camera was already setup in the direction he was going - he'd already climbed over put the camera in place and clambered over the fence again in order to get that shot.

    • @josephfredbill

The same applies to several shots - eg entering the tunnel. I have asked how he does this. With the tunnel example he could have set up the camera first then gone back to collect it. However he does it he must do each of these kinds of shot twice at least. I have asked in another comment how he does it - it looks believable and natural.

You could turn this thing into a whole ecological exercise, trying to do it on rivers starting in different environments and traveling through different ecosystems. The River Severn, where you're trying to stay in the channel as you slop through a swamp. Or the Clyde, starting up at the source of the Daer Water and coming down the hills and into Glasgow. Or, even better, the St. Johns River in Florida, where you can enjoy a nice, lazy ride upstream from its source in a swamp. The alligators, snakes and bears actually aren't too big a deal, but a group of drunk, methed-out Florida Men in a speedboat is not something to be trifled with.

So fascinating! Glad you took the cows seriously, they are no joke and can kill, if so inclined. Not worth messing about with (at least until safe on the other side of the gate where there's enough barrier to say hello and try make friends lol)

What an adventure. You need a hammock and a light tarp for these adventures though. You'd be off the wet ground, warm and cosy. Lighter to carry and stealthier too!

Cows can be very dangerous. Around five people in the UK are killed by cows and bulls every year. I don’t blame you for legging it from that field!
