Who left us with more memorable sayings and lovable gestures than the great Don Knotts! From his famous 'karate chops' delightful facial features including ear to ear smile. What a wonderful multi talented actor/singer and genuinely nice and kind man.
I was just about to write almost exactly what you did. I'm reading his book right now, and it comes across that he was a very nice guy. In one place in the book he mentions that he had to hitchhike, it was in the 1940s or 1950s or so. But he cautions that "it was much safer to hitchhike back in those days than it is now". Wow! He was showing a concern that some readers might think it was safe to the same thing in today's world! He acted like a good father there. I think that reflects the way he was deep, down as a person. There's no higher compliment that can be paid to a person that that. A very nice guy.
Don Knotts was one of the main reasons that I watch The Andy Griffith Show he was the main star very funny my favorite show of his was the incredible mr. Limpet people don't realize Don Knotts was a war hero also read up a little bit about him Google on your phone Don Knotts and they will tell you his life story
jut saw it for the first time today, I think it holds up fairly well! Don gave an incredibly memorable performance well outside of what he normally does, and I think he did an amazing job
Gail Stanley ; The Incredible Mr Limpet release date was March 28 1964. It was the first full feature combination live action /animated adventure film for Warner Bros. :)
This is a very old movie. Wonderful to watch with children. Should be shown for free especially with this countries economic downfall. I thought Disney was suppose to show this on its channel.
This was from a 2014 interview. The original film did end with a "?" which I guess was to hint at some sort of sequel down the line. This clip was in regards to Film Director Richard Linklater: Coming off his critically acclaimed film BOYHOOD, director Richard Linklater has suddenly departed the upcoming remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet. The Incredible Mr. Limpet will star Zach Galifianakis, Josh Gad, Jon Hamm, Kevin Hart, Danny McBride, Sarah Silverman and Key & Peele. A remake of the 1964 Don Knotts film classic, the film follows Henry Limpet, who experiences his fondest wish and is transformed into a fish. The new version of the tale sets the action in present day and has Galifianakis' Limpet attempting to save the fish population of a small beach town. I wonder if this production will ever see the light of day (or dark of the theater)....
You may have heard about the projected Jim Carrey remake that got scuttled. The producers, anxious to get their full money's worth out of Carrey, insisted that his ACTUAL face, not a cartoon one, be used as Mr. Limpet the fish! They tried to do it through motion capture, it looked grotesque, and that was the end of it!
@@antoniod Very glad of that. I saw a pic with the Carrey face on the fish...UGH! There is no need to redo this, it's perfect and should be left that way.
I thought the very first animation/live film was Gene Kelly and Tom and Jerry...but maybe I have that wrong. Regardless, Don's portrayal here, The Reluctant Astronaut, and the Ghost and Mr. Chicken are among my most cherished memories of being a kid, back in the day.
Loved this movie as a kid and still love it today. Thank you Don Knotts you will always be remembered.
I remember you in your movie Mr. Knotts.

When I see/hear Don or this movie.. I can't stop smiling 😊
I love this film so much!!
Me too.
Damn he's gotten old and I miss him.
At least he’s swimming in Heaven now, though I’d like to see him swim with dolphins too, they are friendly, playful, and intelligent.🐬
Have whole heartedly LOVED this movie all of my life.
Me too.
@@blue-sea8901 1:40 only this is the film's first animated sequence.
I see.

But too tricky for Cartoon Network to air, so Osmosis Jones did bigger and better.
I watch this movie twice when I was young.
I am looking for the DVD now in Hong Kong.
I'll be introducing this movie to my children and I hope they love it as much as I do. It'll be added to my collection for sure... X
Awesome , The young generation of viewers will love this movie.
@@DMFSTUDIO 1:40 and this is the disturbingly first animated sequence for it.
Great movie...as a kid I always loved this movie. To me it ranked near the top with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Out of all the classics that they remade that didn't need to be remade.
You would think Pixar would remake this one.

mr knotts made me laugh quite a bit
Dad and I visited Morgantown, West Virginia to look at that statue of Don Knotts.
R.I.P. Don Knotts
💀..Bless Your Heart , Mr. Barney Limpet..✌️😉💕
i beg to differ compared to movies today that pass for entertainment ITS GREAT!!
Films had so much more charm before cgi and sophisticated fx.

And The Shakiest Gun In The West
While Mr. Limpet wish he were a fish, I wish I were a dolphin because I love them.🐬
Years before "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
I remember seeing this in the theatre but never remembered the name of the movie. I thought it was “I Wish I Were a Fish”.
He reminds me of Mister Rogers.
the ones that did all the warner bros cartoons did this no mention of them without them there would have been no Mr limpet!
I think because many of the better known Warner animators had left by '64, I don't know.
@@antoniod my surprise when the fish has to be a toon.
Robert (Bob) McKimson was on this. He was one of the best of the Warner Bros. crew.
"Andy Griffith use to beat me up, he was a big drinker.."
- Don Knotts
What year was it made in. Maybe I could take a guess? Brain strain - can't remember,
Gail Stanley March 28 1964 I know old comment.
