FYI. I bought a very expensive 'Orange label' True Vintage Gibson J-45 which looked absolutely awesome but frustratingly lacked the Gibson dry low end. Eventually, although a VERY tough decision and it broke my heart at the time, I eventually sold it. I then tried as many as six 'White label' Standard J-45's and finally found one that sounded perfect. This all took years to go through and now I am completely happy with my 'White label' Gibson J-45. My conclusion is, label colours do not, necessarily, guarantee anything at all. Assess each guitar's sound and playability, as you would people or lovers, on a case by case basis. Good luck.
I watched and listened to the video then I read the description then I read all of the comments. Am I the only one that realizes these guitars are strung with two sets of strings with different specifications?
You’re an amazing player first and foremost. The newer sounds more crisp, but that “older” one sounds amazing. Tough call and I imagine their usage at their age may serve different purposes.
I have an orange label custom j45 and actually compared it to 2 standards. It was way more responsive. So I think it’s far to say they’re quite different to ally. I also found the standards heavier.. though maybe this was because of the rotomatic tuners? Don’t know.
I have a 2014 Std. and swapped out the buttons for ebony and it's a lot lighter and more balanced. The machine heads (Rotos) are very good but heavy - you get a bit of neck- dive compared to the wood buttons.
2002 obviously is older and has opened up a bit more that the newer 2014. The 2014 will sound great after a few years as its louder and has the articulated sound in the highs and lows.

Orange label was sweeter and warmer.
Beautiful sound Sir. ☺️🙏
텅텅거리는 소리를 극대화 하는 최고의 연주..
I think the white one will smoke the orange label once it opens up more

After re listening. The 2014 is the winner. Al preference but it’s definitely better to my ear.
Orange was more open and the trebles were pronounced and lovely.
Excellent

연주곡이 어떻게되나요
@아일리쉬맨 감사합니다
너트 차이 아닌가욤? 본너트랑 터스크 너트..
너트 차이도 톤에 영향이 있겠네요~~
