Endo is such an intelligent CDM. He has the uncanny ability to read patterns of play and stay a few yards off the opponent that is most likely to receive the ball. Once that player gets the pass, Endo immediately goes all in to intercept the ball. Hope he comes back unscathed from the Asian Cup.

Legendo became one of Stuttgart’s most well-liked players in record time; they made him captain at some point, even though he never really mastered the language. We wish him well because it was always clear that a move to a club like Liverpool had been one of his dreams, but we miss him. As for Liverpool fans questioning his abilities when he arrived… we told you so.

Liverpool fan from Romania since 2006. Too young before that. I feel the only players that have the Liverpool heart ever arrive to the club and also make it here. You have to give it your all. Especially seeing last night's performances from Caicedo and the high dollar transfers of Chelsea, as a Liverpool fan, you know they would have not fit the philosophy of the Reds. Endo felt to me like he would. It's just a feeling you get after watching this club for so long. Up the Reds!

To be honest I was also distraught we could not get a marquee CDM. But I was happy we lost out on Caicedo the asking price was just insane. Endo though I was consoled by his numbers in Germany even though I was chuffed initial. I took courage in the fact he is Japanese. One thing I respect about the Japanese people is they take great pride in hardwork. As long as he was going to leave everything on the pitch I would be content. • @fchevan1
    @fchevan1 Před 4 měsíci +23

Enzo allows for the RB/LB to play higher up the pitch because he always slots in behind and advanced TAA/Robbo/Gomez/Tsimi to put out any quick counters that would exploit spaces in behind the backs.
In fact, that has ALWAYS been TAA issues, players running in off his blind side and opposition breaking in behind the LB to force Van Dijk out wide means a 2v1/2v2 with TAA caught underneath a ball or 1v1 in/around the penalty box-which is NOT his strongest point.
Endo is the best type of player personality/character/physically to play the 6 because he doesn’t overcomplicate his possession, willingly giving the ball to the players that are better suited with the ball at their feet, he tirelessly covers the biggest gaps that have plagued Liverpool over the last few seasons, unlocks TAA to not have to be in the RB position and be able to float and exploit spaces, and Endo’s character on the pitch endears him to the Anfield faithful.
A truly stunning signing and will be the signing of the season for all the true lovers of football that see how individual contribution are important, but for Liverpool in particular, the chemistry is key. Couldn’t have gotten a better player, his age is actually an asset because of his mentality and behind around younger players who have more history at the club.

I was was not surprised, Klopp has made it clear he sees Bajcetic as the player he wants in that role long term, so brought in a player he could trust in the short term but not block Bajcetic path. I honestly think he was looking at both Caicedo and Lavia for different roles and ultimately Gravenberch has filled that Caicedo spot as a multifunctional midfielder.

I beleive at this point, Tyler morton has proved to be a better performing younsgter than bajcetic, sadly bajcetic had injury. Morton has extra dimension to his game compared to baj, his passing ability and first touch resemble that to Thiago. I really hope klopp to give him a chance next season. He is our only player who wasn't recalled as he is main cog in hull side.

Just because YOU thought he was bought as a backup doesn't mean that was ever the plan, Klopp has said from day 1 he is going to be an integral part of the team and anyone who has watched him before knew he was a tremendous talent

Minamino scored 2 and assist 1 already in the first game of Asian cup. Endo also created chances. Japanese players are not flashy but always work for the team.

I knew and I spent months defending this signing on Twitter and IRL. I watch the Bundesliga, and he was highly respected and rated. But it was a case of his loyalty to Stuttgart like say Son at Spurs to name an example. He has too much respect for the club and fans, hence why he never made the move to a top Bundesliga club before. You didn't need to have followed German football anyway if you watched the World Cup. He was boss vs Germany and other games in Qatar.
Liverpool had no midfield to talk of until the last 30% of the season when Bajcetic came through before his injury and Trent inverted. Old legs before it were overrun in every game pretty much, Thiago aside when he was fit but even still it was far too much to deal with.
Liverpool just needed a DM to give them consistent 6-7 out of 10 performances at worst. Endo had been giving them 8s and 9s at worst instead before jetting off for the Asia Cup.
He is a leader too. The man captained club and country. And the disrespect was gross tbf. If he wants, he can be a Liverpool player easily for another 3 or more years. I am not saying guaranteed starter, but he can fill in at CB, LB and of course DM. He could be what Milner was. What Henderson refused to be. But as of now, he has absolutely earned his place.

he's like a japanese n'golo kante (not saying he's on Prime Kante's level, but that's the role he seems to be playing for Liverpool this season)... keeps things simple, reads the game well.

ENDO, THINKS THE GAME IN ADVANCE, NOT REACT WHEN HE GETS THE BALL ⚽️.
    1. HE PASSES EARLY, PLAY SIMPLE & TACKLES!
    2. IF THE REST OF LIVERPOOL PLAYERS DID THIS INSTEAD OF RELYING ON THEIR INDIVIDUAL SKILL WHEN THEY GET THE BALL ⚽️ INSTEAD OF LETTING THE FLOW THROUGH PASSING!
    3. LIVERPOOL’S POSITIVE PRESSURE HIGH LEVEL POSSESSION WOULD BE SUSTAINED THROUGH THE WHOLE GAME CREATING MORE CLINICAL PASSING SCORING GOALS AT HIGHER PERCENTAGE!
    4. FOOTBALL ⚽️ IS A THINKING MAN’S GAME & ENDO THINKS IN ADVANCE THEN EXECUTES HIS OPEN OPTIONS, NOT DRIBBLE TRYING TO DEVELOP SOMETHING INSTEAD OF PLAYING THE WAY THEY ARE FACING TO THE OPEN MAN!
    5. SIMPLE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN HARD WITH SUSTAINING ENERGY THROUGH THE WHOLE GAME!

Endo is amazing! He reads everything and gets in the right position, immediately goes in, and has successful pressures and tackles and interceptions. He’s ballin’ right now. I think he’s been crucial to a lot of the wins so far.

People need to stop with the whole "he's 30 we need someone younger" narrative. In todays footballing terms, 35 is the new 30. He's in his absolute physical prime right now, and I'd be surprised if he falls off it before he's 33/34.

In short, he has gotten used to the Premier League. His true growth is yet to come. Please look forward to his true growth.

In our modern game, every player gets enormous scrutiny from the moment they set foot in the club. Fans fail to recognise that it takes time to adjust to new coaches, playing styles, language, and environment, and when coming from other leagues, the league itself. Some players adapt quicker, some slower, some not at all. We as fans have to stop expecting that every player has to be an instant success.

He was Captaining the VfB when they were strugging and many say, he is the reason, they stayed in the league, a lot of VfB fans were gutted, when he left, so i always tried to explain to LFC fans, that he is not a "better than nothing" option but a very good choice, after all, he never lost his cool even in the direst of situations and was the only player in Stuttgart for quite some time, to maintain his quality despite being stuck in the relegation battle. i did however notice that recently, the LFC fans finally began to believe me... 😅

the stats used in this video are a little strange, comparing an average shots conceded with him to a peak without exaggerated the difference massively. Also, the goals conceded per 90 you cannot be putting down purely to Endo, would need to run a regression or something of the sort to isolate it away from quality of competition etc
