      Natasha Nydia passed away last December. She was hit by a drunk driver while walking on the sidewalk to a dentist appt. I believe. She has a a Facebook page as well. Her husband posted the terrible news on her page.

    RECIPE: 3 pounds of chicken, 1tsp paprika, 2tbs of tomato paste, 3 bay leaves, 3/4 can tomato sauce, 1 onion, 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper, 1tbs minced garlic, 2 tbs of butter, salt/pepper to taste, 6 potatoes, ~15 olives, 1 cup wine (chardonnay used here, but grape juice is perfect too), 4tsp olive oil, and 2 packets of sazon (you can make your own, its healthier/ Homemade Sazón Seasoning)

    I made this recipe today but with some modifications: one teaspoon of the wine and some fire roasted peppers, no onions and it was DELICIOUS!!! thank you Nydia!!!

    OMG I just made this tonight for both my husband and I dinner for tomorrow when we get off work. I tried some though and it's amazing. I also made your picadillo as well for tonight dinner and it was great. My husband is American and I am half cuban/half Japanese and my husbands never had authentic Spanish foods and I never really knew how to make these dinners so thank you so much for Sharing your recipes and making it so easy with step by step directions for us people at home... It was delicious, I have subscribed and will be following you for some more tasty recipes....

    I made it and it is in the over right now simmering in a large enameled roaster pan. I made my own sazon and used the full cup of chardonnay! Can't wait to dig in. Thank you for sharing!

    Thank you so much for your wonderful recipes and for giving the instructions in English and Spanish. I am a latin from Manhattan, New York and was never allowed to speak Spanish at home. My Father was afraid of being discriminated against so we could only speak English. I could understand when my parents spoke Spanish and wished I knew more. These recipes are just like my mother made and now I can learn to understand the instructions. You are wonderful and Thank you so very much.

El hecho de que lo haga en Español e Inglés lo hace perfecto para nuestra gente hispana que se ha criado por acá y a los que hablan inglés de otros países que les encanta la comida boricua.     Hoy hice el Friscase y me quedo buenisimo ,cuando mi hijo me lo dijo que el dice que no se cocinar ,me faltaron algunos ingredientes pues vivo en Alemania y no encontre el sofrito ,pero puse un bote de caldo de pollo ..Gracias Nydia me estoy animando a cocinar ,espero sorprender a mi esposo que es cocinero ,jajajajaja

    This is a great recipe but I would recommend thoroughly browning the chicken first in the same pot. Take it out and set it aside then proceed as as she did. It will take it to the next level. Trust me. . .

      Wendy Newman Hi Wendy!.. you don't have to use wine.. replace it with either more water or chicken stock.. the wine gives it a more sophisticated flavor but..not absolutely necessary.. Nydia :)

    hi nydia i watched your video and tried to follow very carefully but when it came time to add the 4 tsp of olive oil, it
    was never the amount in your caldera. it seemed more like 1/4 cup. is that correct? thanks cindy.

      Cynthia Gauvin HI Cynthia..it may look like more.. but it is 4 tablespoons of oil.. but you can add more if you wish.. it will not affect the recipe.. thanks a lot!! Nydia

      +Mary Rivera Depending in what I'm cooking.. if chicken I usually use Chardonay.. if meat Spanish Riojas.. I also like to use dry white wines like Pinot .. Nydia
