Tesla Cybertruck - My New Tesla Is Here, Overview of Condition and Getting It Shiny!!

- We just took delivery of our new Tesla Cybertruck! Since we took delivery on the other side of the country, we had to tow the truck on a trailer over nearly 2,400 miles.
When taking delivery of the Cybertruck, we didn’t really have much time to look through the truck for issues. We had to hit the road and it was evening time. By the time I arrived back to Florida, the truck had been exposed to snow, salt, sand and other road debris.
Finally getting a chance to go over the car for issues means I need to deep clean the exterior from oxidation, dirt and debris. Once clean, I am then able to refinish the surface by using batkeepers friend. This cutting agent helps to remove deep contaminants in the stainless surface leaving you with a fresh layer to work with.
After a full walkthrough of the truck, I have very few issues that need to be resolved. I do need 1 door realigned on the drivers side, but all other panels look straight and without blemishes. On the inside, there is clearly some overspray of an unknown substance that has stained the plastic trim on the interior. This unfortunately has splattered and affected several pieces of trim. These will need to be replaced and these pieces are most likely on back order for an unknown period of time.
I am very happy to have my Cybertruck, and even happier to have the truck without a long list of issues needing fixed.

I was really surprised how good mine was to be honest. Sad, but I was expecting issues. I have 2 issues, an overspray of something that stained some floor plastic on drivers side floor and I want them to pull the top of the drivers door in like 3 mm
Congrats on the new truck! I'm glad I'm down the list a bit so some of the bugs will be worked out before I get mine. Hindsight is 20/20 but trailering it that far a protective plastic film would have saved you a lot of hassle. I think that's one reason when the ship cars cross country on a hauler they leave them wrapped until they get to the destination.

If I had a CT (I don't think I ever will but who knows?), I don't think I would ever wash it. I like the idea of no paint and the stainless steel should just be good enough on its own for me. I know it can eventually rust but it will take a while. I don't need a perfectly clean vehicle anymore. I used to be obsessive about a spotless clean vehicle but no more. So much more about just letting rain clean the vehicle when needed. I'm sure not everyone will agree.

White vinegar diluted does well on stainless, maybe less abrasive

They never said 1000. CZcamsr said it. Just like the Model 3, "Highland" is a made-up codename from CZcamsrs. Highland was never used or called by Tesla internally for the refreshed Model 3. CZcamsrs already have a name for the Model Y refresh. Wonder if that will stick.

The whole issue with keeping it clean is so disappointing. They should start painting them if ppf is essential to abound all they cleaning work.

Cybertruck is not a truck. That's why I bought it. It's a large Model S with a Hard Freakin Steel. If you need a truck, buy a diesel truck. If you want a big and safe EV, then get a Cybertruck. I never been in a pickup or large SUV before. Still getting used to my Cyberbeast, but not getting car sick as much now. It's too high. Wish I can drive on Entry Mode the whole time.

Bigger truck , more dents in its lifetime. Cybertruck will have no dents parking anywhere.

Iron-X, spray version of BKF scrubbed with a blue ScotchBrite pad and an application of Shiela Shine SS polish/cleaner at the end. Wipe the finish down occasionally with Shiela Shine SS spray. Easy Peasy!!!
I like how some people say it’s stupid you have to do anything to it. You don’t, just like a painted car. But if you want it looking nice, you have to prep and maintain the surface. It’s nothing new, or overly hard to do, just different process with SS vs paint
